I went to the MK store at albertsville outlet. I have friends that work for MK and they are great brand ambassadors, great personalities, great fit for the retail world, AND give great customer service to each and EVERY customer, regardless what they look like coming into the store. I came today to shop and there was a woman (maybe of Hispanic descent) that did a sorry job of greeting us when we walked in. I was walking around looking for a purse and was not asked if I needed any helping looking for anything. I am guessing since I am of African descent I was already labeled as a black girl that can't afford the prices of the purses. I went and picked up a purse and took a picture to see if it looked as nice on camera as it did on me. The woman came up behind me and just smiled and walked away. Working In the retail world for the past 7 years, the proper thing to do is if I walked up to a customer, I would compliment how our brand/products looks on the customer or suggest another color (of course customer knows best, but why not give them a great experience at shop). After, I just didn't feel like dealing with the woman constantly making weird faces at me attempting to be nice. I am a very nice person I am talktive (clearly), but the woman was conversing with everyone and asking questions to everyone but me. So I went up to the front where I was greeted by a young lady of Caucasian decent that was SUPER sweet. She asked if anyone helped us and when I said "No", she said "I'm so sorry to hear that". I do appreciate her saying that, she was very sweet and I hope she can help out her fellow coworkers in learning how to give great customer service experiences to everyone that comes in, no matter what the background!! read more
