Walked into Gap Outlet with a 40% off coupon expecting to see similar styles as offered in the regular store albeit in cheaper, thinner materials. However, my first step into the store made me feel like I had entered a Justice store for adults.
Almost everything was in neon colors, but not the refined designs in the regular store or what you would find at J. Crew. Neon yellow shirts screamed at me from the back of the store upon first entrance, and then I was bombarded with more neon orange stripe t-shirts intermixed with piles of white blandness splashed with Gap logos.
The only normal looking items were the cardigans, but they were cut "boyfriend" style in dark colors and looked matronly. There was an entire table dedicated to them, but not a single person touched the items even though the store was packed for a Sunday.
Only saving grace is that the most clearance items were really on clearance. Saw some sweaters (cheap acrylic stuff, of course) priced at $5. More stylish sweaters were on clearance for $30, which is the same price as mark downs at the regular stores.
Overall, not an outlet store worth driving to as designs are boring and prices, unless there's a major discount promo, are on par with the normal mall store. read more
