My excitement started with his front office staff. Nicole was just awesome, helping me at every step with my new insurance plan, getting old records from my previous dentist and just making me feel like this office cares. A+ service even before I was a patient! Yesterday I saw Dr. Britt and his Dental Assistant Erin and I couldn't be happier. First, Erin was fantastic. I was complaining of some pain (cold sensitivity) and expected to need a crown. She took the time to explain everything that was likely to happen and made sure I was informed and comfortable with everything. Erin is very pleasant and extremely competent. By the time Dr. Britt came over I felt like Erin has been a friend for years. And the whole experience was made even better once I saw Dr. Britt. He was very kind and thorough with his examination and explained everything he was seeing until I understood what was going on. And the bonus... he actually recommended I not get the expensive and invasive crown and offered me a more appropriate treatment that cost me nothing! What a pleasure to have a dentist who's more interested in providing me proper care than making a quick buck. I couldn't be happier with my experience seeing Dr. Britt and his team. The office is well-decorated and cozy with accent walls and aesthetically-pleasing black and white photos of people with ridiculously white teeth. They have complimentary fruit and drinks (orange juice, green tea, water, etc.), free yummy chapstick, and of course your obligatory floss and toothpaste. The exam/cleaning rooms all have nice, big windows, so you can look out the window or watch TV while you are having work done, your choice. Also, you have the option of dipping your hands in a paraffin wax bath for a nice hand treatment as you get your teeth done. Absolutely genius ... I mean, if you're sitting there for an extended period of time anyway, why not? Everyone I interacted with there was very pleasant, but, most importantly, honest. Dr. Alber has a very frank, here's-how-it-is personality, which I really appreciated. He told me I should consider having my wisdom teeth out in the near future, and when I admitted that I thought I would be doing that on my next visit to Peru, he encouraged me. "Heck, they can do it for a lot cheaper than I can -- and they have good dentists!" he said. I really appreciated that because he could have said something like "Well, the only way you can be SURE to have it done well is to go through me." I loved the no-upsale approach. My visit was very cheap; with insurance, it ended up being $22, but without it would have been $110 for cleaning, xrays, and checkup. I will definitely be going back.

Threatened With Higher Bill for Questioning a Billing Error…read moreI've been a patient here for years. Before my September 2025 appointment, I specifically asked if I was in-network. Their office called Anthem, got a reference number, and confirmed I was covered. I even timed my appointment to make sure my x-rays would be covered. Weeks later, I got a bill--they said I was out-of-network. When I questioned it, they admitted: They had verified I was in-network before my appointment The claim was submitted under a provider I never even saw I paid the bill to avoid problems--before they even filed an appeal. Their appeal letter to Anthem acknowledges these errors and threatens to file with the Colorado Division of Insurance if Anthem didn't fix it. To my knowledge, they never followed through. Anthem denied the appeal despite their own error, but the dentist got paid either way--so they just passed the cost to me instead of standing up for their patient. When I kept asking questions, they told me they "reserve the right to adjust the balance to full patient responsibility"--implying they could charge me more for disputing their mistake. Also: their billing department has no phone number. Everything goes through a portal, making it nearly impossible to resolve anything. If you come here, get everything in writing. I did everything right and still got billed for their error--then faced pressure when I pushed back.

I also noticed when I called to cancel the next appointment that they are still using the recorded message that both dentists are available and gave emergency numbers for both. That was very misleading also. I want to reiterate that the glowing reviews on Yelp from past years do not represent the current status of this practice. Dr. Higgins was recommended to me by a friend with the lowest pain tolerance I know. The office for starters is beautiful. They have Planet Earth playing in the waiting room and more books than brochures trying to sell you procedures. The receptionist is always super, super nice. She is chatty if you want to chat or quiet if you want to wallow in self-pity about having your teeth done. Even when I call too early in the morning she is friendly and helpful. A+ The hygienists are great. Friendly and helpful and as pain-free as possible. I hate having cavities searched for by pick. Here they use micoscopes! No unnecessary poking or prodding. The best part is Dr. Higgins though. My first cavity I was a nervous wreck. I was expecting the whole shebang of painful scrapy metal thing, big rubber thing, other big rubber mouth rest, needles, drills, pain, misery. He gave me a demo of his laser tool on his finger. It's that gentle! Makes a loud noise, but otherwise just sprays warm water. It's so cool! He told me "open your mouth, try to hold still." Then zapped it a few times, filled it, and I was out the door in less than 20 minutes. Didn't hurt, no shots, and the worst "pain" I had was water hitting my mouth. You can really tell Dr. Higgins loves what he does. He is not like most dentists who push procedures on you, he has talked me out of procedures numerous times that he thinks are unnecessary. He is passionate about his art and constantly searching for the next cool gadget to make dentistry less uncomfortable and less invasive. If all dentists were like him, no one would be scared of it anymore.
