I LOVE Michael's Zumba Class! Every workout is high energy and I always have a lot of fun. He does a really great job with making sure everyone is having a good time and that everyone has the moves down. It definitely is a good workout...I always feel it afterwards and I usually leave class drenched! The moves are easy to get the hang of (and that's saying something because I'm a little uncoordinated at times). But each class leaves an impression: I find myself doing some of the Zumba moves when I hear certain songs come on the radio haha. Pros: Great instructor (high energy, helpful, and very knowledgeable). Inexpensive ($6 each or 10 classes for $50, you can't beat it). Good location Plenty of street parking. Cons: I wish it were more often! Even if it was 4 times a week, I would still be there every class! I would highly recommend Michael's class if you are considering starting (or continuing) Zumba!! read more

I work out with a trainer 3xWk. and he always enforces me to do more cardio outside of this work out time. I learned Zumba is a good cardio work out and during my search, I came across Michael's Zumba at Hollywood Dance Center. Here are my reasons why I got addicted to Michael's Zumba classes; 1. Michael incorporates salsa moves with a lot of squats, stretching, and constant cardio movements that keeps the heart rate up the whole time! I never sweat this much even when I am running/jogging (which I hate!). I feel like my whole body gets worked out and it feels great! 2. There are constant big arm movements so my unbalanced posture/strength from left to right of my body got improved and seems more balanced. I had my physical therapist examine me today and he confirmed the improvement as well. 3. Michael is fun and super energetic instructor. He cracks up the whole class all the time! Big motivator who spends the entire hour doing all the movements himself, drenched in sweat in front of the class and correcting the participants individually time to time. He covers basic steps ahead and makes it repetitive throughout the song so it is easy to follow and in the end, you end up memorizing it easily. But don't get fooled. It gets pretty tuff when he mixes all the movements consecutively and you will completely be out of breath! 4. I paid $6 for the individual class. After my 1st class, I immediately purchased 10 classes pass for $50 and on top of that, Michael throws in 1 extra free class. So it ends up being $4.50 per class. Crazy best deal. Trust me. I looked everywhere. 5. All the people in the class are very friendly, energetic, always laughing and clapping. No matter what age group you're in, what back ground you're from, male or female,,, doesn't matter! Everyone surely loves Michael, the music, zumba and definitely good energy here! 6. The studio is spacious, high ceiling, and the air feels fairly cool. The class is at night or early in the morning so I assume that it won't get affected by the summer heat. 7. Michael also makes CDs for all of us so we can listen to all the new songs and get familiarized. I mean... Michael. Do you even make any money off of these classes? I love MIchael! I love his classes! I actually wait for his class ALL WEEK~!! read more

I would not consider myself a fitness junkie. :) I dont work out at all, I tried to get into running but I soon after discovered I hate running. So I cant run, I have no sense of rhythm, However I still dont want to be a couch potato, where does that leave me? A wonderful adventure down highland to a dance studio I have driven past hundreds of times and never knew it existed. I walked in the door, up the stairs gave my six bucks, (YEA ITS REALLY 6 BUCKS!) I could find that under my couch!!!! and have!!!! Now I have gone for weeks, to both the Thursday 7:15pm class, and the Saturday 9am class and I have love every second of it. No, we dont all know the steps, Yes I often spin the wrong way, and clap off beat Yes, Im pretty sure i get my butt kicked by women decades older than myself However everyone is smiling and having a blast. Also, I sweat more now than when I was 'running' my hardest. Try it out, Ps I didn't mention how AWESOME Michael Sanchez is!!! Super friendly, he will push you if he thinks you can handle it, but not in the screaming bootcamp kind of way, and he is always changing things up so you wont be bored! Yes guys go as well! (Even though I could use some more hahaha!!!) Bring: Water! a sweat towel and you can wear anything from Spanx to Sweats! read more

I am a Crossfitter who loves and adores Michael's Zumba classes! I know what Crossfitters say about Zumba, but Michael's class is too good to pass up. I love to dance but don't get many chances to, so Michael's classes are perfect for me to get good and sweaty in a way that is fun and different from my usual workout. The moves are intuitive and not complicated, but Michael dances with so much flair that watching him will make you feel like a real dancer. I don't do Zumba for the exercise benefits so much as for the dancing, but the calorie burn in terrific and your heart rate will definitely get up! The big plusses of Michael's class: -CHEAP. Really cheap. And plenty of free street parking for both Thursday and Saturday at the Hollywood Dance Center. -Excellent instruction. Michael is a total pro. -1 full hour of Zumba. Michael doesn't skimp and start late or end early. You get an hour of dance for 6 bucks. Great value. -Strength and confidence. Even with my primary workout of Crossfit, I make time for Zumba twice a week because it feels SO GOOD to dance in this class. I recommend it to everyone, no matter what your fitness level or dance experience. Michael's class is the Zumba class for you. read more

I've taken Zumba classes from several different instructors over the years, and Michael's is one of the best! I previously took dance classes and later Zumba with him at Bally's. I followed him here from Bally's when he left over a year ago. I've found that the success of a Zumba class is all about the instructor, since the music is the same anywhere you go. Michael has a great passion for dance and it shows. His energy is infectious! Everyone should be lucky enough to experience a Zumba class with Michael Sanchez! read more

Michael is the absolute BEST. I've been going to his classes for 3 years and it's still my favorite workout in LA. Great cardio (you will sweat), fun music and a supportive environment. If I could give more stars, I would. read more

As an ex martial arts instructor of 15 years and a swimmer most of my life, I have finally found an exercise program that I thoroughly enjoy. Michael Sanchez is a great instructor and dancer. I love hearing Michael giving instructions an usually the only male in class, which I find a little disconcerting read more

Michael is my favourite zumba teacher. I used to go to his classes twice a week when I lived in LA a year ago. I've moved to London now and to this day I still can't find a zumba class as fun as his. I love his class because of his positive attitude, enthusiasm, sense of humour, and variety of songs. He is really full of energy and you can tell that he genuinely loves what he's doing. read more

The best zumba teacher ever! His class is creative and fun. Very funny. Well experienced teacher has a all around dance skills you can learn easily. I've taking his class over 5 years and also took other teachers classes here and there so I know. I couldn't compare him to the others. Parking is easy and class is $6. read more

All ages all sizes. Great sense of humor. Best Zumba class in Hollywood. Easy. Can't beat that price either. Michael is a gifted teacher. So fun. This one feels like a dance party with fun choreography. This class has a bit more Latin flair. There are some pop songs thrown in there too. We all leave laughing and dripping in sweat. The hour flies by. Parking is easy too. It's only $6! 5 with a class pass. It's the best. I've been all over. read more

Michael's class is so much fun!!! High energy, great crowd, tons of fun! Ive been to other Zumba classes/instructors in the past but he is by far my favorite. He makes sure everyone has the moves down and everyone is having a great time. I measure a good class on how much you sweat and when you leave his class you are drenched! Love it! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

I've lived in the area for 2 1/2 years now and had been looking for a Zumba class that compared to that of the last studio I went to. I had seen great reviews for Michael's class but never got around to attending. Last week I was finally able to and I loved it. I'm very picky about instructors but Michael was energetic, friendly and fun. He was very welcoming and would check in with me when he saw me struggling. I actually enjoyed that it was a little harder than I anticipated (as I've taken boring and simple Zumba classes). You definitely get an amazing work out while having fun and the price for a class like this is also very reasonable. I'm definitely going to make this part of my weekly routine and my only regret is not having come to this class sooner! read more

What a great way to start a Saturday. My only complaint is that I can't make his Thursday classes.

Michael is so sweet and adorable. His mix was mostly Latin dance with a tinge of show tunes (yes, there were jazz hands in multiple routines). $6 Zumba (especially in LA!) cannot be beat. Bring your sneaks, water, a towel, and get ready to sweat! read more

I consider myself a fitness junkie, and am always on the search for a great class and Most important a great teacher! Michael and his class has got it all!! His energy and passion for his students is contagious. He genuinely cares about everyone that walks into his class. I loved his class so much on my birthday I did his two hour Zumba party class! Take my advice, as a fellow group fitness instructor who has taken a lot of classes all over LA, this man will make you smile, sweat and keep you dancing in and out of class!! read more

Michael's classes are fun, fun, fun with a capital F! The hour goes by so fast and it's a great workout! It's more like a dance party. His style is definitely dance based and Michael will break down the basics so that you're able to catch on quickly! More importantly, his classes are ridiculously cost effective, $6 for one class or you can buy a 10 or 20 class pass and save more money! What are you waiting for?!?! Come out and join the FUN! read more

Micheal is a great teacher and so full of positive energy that the class doesn't even feel like a work out. I highly recommend to beginners and advanced dancers alike:) The Hollywood Dance Center is a wonderful studio as well. read more

I love this class! I am usually horrible with cardio because I get bored on treadmills or running outside, but Michael's class is so much fun! It's a fun workout AND I actually burn a lot of calories. He's a great teacher, makes class fun and inspires me to get super fit and dance off my booty! read more

FINALLY!! i had been looking for a fun cardio class outside of the gym forever! I can't be bored or else i won't go to class. basically, my cardio has to be disguised inside of fun and that is exactly what michaels class is! you're having so much that you don't even realize how hard your working (& sweating!!) each song is full of energy and different zumba moves plus strengthening moves (ie. squats, lunges, etc) ....& speaking of energy, michael is sweating as much as his students - this man does not stop moving...even when his students are heading to their water bottles! the classes are for EVERYONE!! they aren't intimidating like so many other classes i've been to! I really love this class and parking is always super easy to find. & did i mention it's $6 a class!!!!!!!!!!! nuff' said! read more

I recently began taking Zumba from Miguel Sanchez at the Hollywood Dance Center, although he teaches at other facilities as well. I'd previously taken Zumba classes from another instructor for three years, and hated leaving her; I moved out of the area. I didn't think I'd find someone I liked as much but Miguel is awesome. His energy is contagious and he make the class so much fun! He lets us know when we're not working hard enough and sometimes asks us to sing along with the music. I find that I'm smiling while sweating! I cannot recommend Miguel highly enough. I give him 5 stars!! read more

Michael is the BEST!!!!! High energy , lots of fun, and sweat! Dance moves are not just the usual jumping, shaking and grinding. He mixes up latin moves with hip hop and toning exercises good for the abs, buns, thighs and arms. Fun fun fun all the time. There is always something new to learn to keep us motivated and inspired. read more

I've been to Michael Sanchez's Zumba class a few times now and I love it! I work out on my own during the week, but this is a great cardio boost. Michael will keep you sweating the entire hour while working more than your coordination. He works your abs, arms, legs, everything. The best part is the class is only $6!! That's a steal for a class like this. You can also get a punch card where you pay for 10 classes and get a class free. The class is early for a Saturday morning, but I usually get a nice energy boost afterwards so it's worth it. read more
