For context, my mom's NEVER worked out in her life before. I also had surgeries (most recently October 2025) and have been unable to exercise since 2024. We took Christina's class on a Saturday morning and it was everything and more than we expected. Vera also assisted Christina, and they provided such an open and inviting environment. We were out of our comfort zones, but we were guided and felt safe throughout the whole way. It's silly, but I'm scared of heights (and falling) and genuinely thought that I wasn't going to be able to have my feet leave the ground. Vera and Christina's knowledge and warmth quickly disarmed my fears. I was still holding back, but I knew that we were secure and in good hands. Also, in my opinion, this was a GREAT beginners workout. My mom and I are not in the best shape, but Christina also educated us about modifications to the movements we were doing and the whole experience was accessible and inclusive. For the first time in such a long time, I was able to actually work out without having any complications after the fact. The videos make it look easy, but you're definitely still getting a workout. I also want to recognize how they were always engaging and attentive to our needs. At some point, my mom did have to take a break and step out, but Christina and Vera checked on her during and after class. Also, they airdropped us some class footage for free, which we appreciated. To call the experience welcoming would be such an understatement. It was our first time, but Christina and Vera were approachable and really made our experience unforgettable. Loved the openness of everything. The entrance and signing into the class was a bit messy and hectic, the entrance was under construction and the man at the front handing out the waivers and such seemed a bit overwhelmed. Didn't feel super welcoming. Streamlining and organizing this section would def help put clients more at ease since I was starting to doubt the class in the beginning.-BE SURE TO BRING A YOGA MAT! Otherwise you'll have to pay $4 to rent one. -The overall class was 10 minutes of warmup, 30 min lesson, and then 10 minutes of free time to record and practice what you just learned. -The AERIAL DANCE INTRO CLASS was a great class for those who have never done aerial or those who haven't done it in years. The man followed me around asking where i got my yoga mat and even when i was leaving asked if i am taking my yoga mat and where it is etc- very annoying, bizarre and frankly off putting as hell. he was anything but welcoming so i suggest you remove him from whatever he's doing in the front. never want to come back. apparently you have to pay for rental yoga mat. But even before I get to the class, the entry entryway and the vibe of the whole place is off because it's so worn out. i'm scared the fabric will fall off the hook and it's extremely smelly and overall unstable and worn out looking- not sure if i can trust the hanging to support me but that's the attorney in me talking. everything i see seems like a liability, especially their old hooks and the way the instructor walks around with a huge ladder in a crowded class. Next the class itself- instructor spent majority of the time making us stretch and adjusting our fabric. it was such a waste of time. don't do it if you're trying to get a workout in.

I've been a faithful "Island Groover" since 2008. You want cardio - this class gives you cardio. You want dance - this class gives you dance. You want bacchanal - this class gives you bacchanal! What I personally love the most about Island Groove is that it's authentic to the Caribbean. Whether it's dancehall, Punta, soca, Zouk, merengue, or reggaeton, Chinyere keeps it 100% authentic. And with each class so different, there's something for everyone. Even though I am from the Caribbean, this is still a challenging enough workout that keeps me wanting more. This class seriously feels like I'm on the road during carnival in costume having a great time - what more can I ask for on a weekly basis! Plus, I burn 600-900 calories PER class so it's a very effective workout. It is high intensity, but perfectly fine for beginners and those with zip/zero/nada dance experience. Hey, my first 5 or 6 classes when I started were hard as fuq, but it was so fun I didn't want to stop. Trust me, it gets easier. Just go at your own pace...everyone is so supportive and energetic; no one makes you feel bad if something is too challenging. 7 years later there are still some things I can't do! A couple of tips: Don't come on a full stomach. Ladies, wear a good sports bra! Gents, come ready to wuk! However, one of my best friends is an Island Grooves aficionado and asked me to join her on so many occasions that I finally ran out of excuses and had to go. Although, I was dancing to my own drum for most of class I can say that I really gained confidence, better rhythm and a few power moves to add to my two step arsenal! I was surprised that reformers were pre-assigned. She introduced herself and was polite, but that's where the positives end. She asked if I had any injuries but didn't ask about my experience level. Class started and it was a horrible experience, poor instruction, poor visibility and lack of attention to the class as a whole. This class was extremely difficult to follow, and I couldn't keep up. The instructor focused almost entirely on correcting one student, while a few others got minimal direction. I wasn't helped or corrected at all, even though I was clearly confused. The instructor's voice was low and unclear, and when she demonstrated movements, she was often blocked by other students. She stayed at the front of the studio, occasionally moving toward the center, but never came to the back where I was. My neck started to hurt from constantly trying to see what she was doing. At one point, the woman next to me asked what she was saying, and I shrugged because I didn't know either.

And I've been too many of them. What makes this one special is the attention to detail and the very personal customer service. The studio is extremely clean, I mean, impeccably. All of the towels smell fresh, all of the floors are freshly polished. Everything smells delightful. The sauna is top notch. It has a large infrared light bar, but it also has very strong, infrared light around the sauna otherwise, and on the ceiling of the sauna as well. and this one, you are also able to adjust it to other types of light such as blue, green, Amber, etc.You are also to control your own levels of heat. There is a television with prepaid Amazon prime channels. The Bluetooth speaker inside the sauna is loud and crisp, and of course you can control the levels and channels with the remote. The gentleman who helped me is named Ken. He gave me a nice tour of the studio upon arrival, and then showed me how to operate everything. He was extremely helpful and kind.Another nice thing is this sauna is very large. I was literally able to stretch out and recline. I think this will be my go to infrared sauna spot.
