Made the mistake of thinking of her as a close acquaintance. My husband and I just transitioned to Medicare two months ago. When I called the office to verify coverage I was told both of our Medicare plans are out of network. That's because she does not accept Medicare. Payment up front is required and the patient has to bill Medicare themselves for whatever compensation is available for being out of network. I contacted Dr Melissa to remind her that she told me years ago if we ever were on an insurance she was not in network with, that she would become in network. No anymore. Her words "It's a business decision". Unbelievable. It also has impacted our adult daughter who we referred there and she now finds herself out of network through her new employer plan. I'm so glad we could help her business grow to the point she now owns the building she is in. Lesson learned. This dentist is truly about the money.

Wow! My experience with the current ownership of this long time (70+ years - two previous owners)…read moredental practice is also spot on. Both my wife & i had been coming to this office for over 50 years. Dr. Andrea Ruby purchased the business approximately in 2018. We continued receiving dental care here, now under Dr. Ruby. About two years ago my wife had misgivings about the care she was receiving and decided to leave. Much to my detriment i stayed. My horror began November 7, 2022, the day my brother passed away. Coincidentally i had an appointment scheduled the same day and i obviously cancelled & re-scheduled the appointment. I had to cancel the re-scheduled appointment because of exposure to Covid. So, the appointment was re-scheduled again. When i arrived for the re-scheduled appointment i was met by a hostile, belligerent, threatening, intimidating young lady who informed me i would need to pay $50 for the previous cancellation or Dr. Ruby would not see me!!! The cancellation was inside the 24 or 48hr window. I guess i needed a divine revelation my brother was going to die on November 7 allowing me to cancel within the arbitrarily set timeline. I was stunned to say the least. I was seated, she was standing over me demanding i pay. It was embarrassing. This was Dr. Ruby's newly minted receptionist/office mgr. After she conferred with Dr. Ruby the $50 "fine" was waived. In retrospect i should have walked out never to return. But being Mr. nice guy even though being very upset, i decided to stay. The next two appointments went smoothly. Knowing how volatile the receptionist could be i avoided any confrontation. Moving forward, i received a letter dated June 15, 2023 stating Ruby Dental will no longer accept my insurance as an in-service provider. As stated in the letter "reimbursements for procedures do not meet the current climate of compensating our staff properly." I guess compensating staff would be out of my pocket? So, again i stayed. I must be a glutton for punishment. I changed my insurance provider and had an appointment scheduled for 1/03/2024. I was informed by the receptionist/office mgr that birth dates on office records and insurance records did not match. The insurance had a wrong birth date which meant a claim could not be filed. And i would have to pay out of pocket. Once again i cancelled an appointment. Thinking it would be a quick fix, i would reschedule. I never had a chance. I was informed by letter that because "of last minute cancellations" (only allowed three) and "differences in dental philosophies and office operations" i was no longer a good fit. I didn't know i had a dental philosophy. I was fired. Oh, i forgot, the letter included a statement for $50 for cancellations!! The result of all this is that Ruby Dental lost two very long term patients The birth date quick fix was anything but. It took three months of dealing with the insurance bureaucracy to get the date corrected. I just received a second statement for that $50 with a note that claims i cancelled four appointments. I only have record of three "allowed" cancellations initiated by me (my brothers passing, Covid exposure, the insurance date mix up) The fourth was actually cancelled & rescheduled by the office because a crown did not arrive by the appointment time. I was never a no show. The cancellation window is purely arbitrary. I did want to remain with this office (God knows why) & i made every effort to do so despite the difference in philosophy (still can't figure that), poor management, rude & hostile behavior by the receptionist. These days it seems like there is a dental office on every corner and i believe i have found a good one.

Stay as far away from Ruby Dental as you can. I have had the worst customer service imaginable…read more The Office Manager has gone out of her way to make my experience maddening. I have a crown that needs to be replaced. Dr Ruby told me she would take care of my broken crown. I recently had a procedure, she recommended and now I have been refused services, refused any communication with Dr Ruby, and have been harassed at work. The Office Manager is trying to take my treatment plan into her own hands, without the knowledge of proper dental care or updated care plan information. I have been hung up on, ignored and have had appointments cancelled without my consent. I am now walking around with a vulnerable uncapped tooth and have been denied services for unknown reasons.

Matt greeted me promptly at 7:00 a.m. and prepped me, always his usual, courteous yet friendly self. His administration of novocaine was painless and he explained and double checked the procedure. Dr. D. then did the same, explaining each step as we went along while both he and his assistant kept me well rinsed and as comfortable as possible throughout. Visual scans confirmed everything that had been done and any questions I had were answered quickly and expertly. I have had some traumatic dental experiences in the past elsewhere, so was slightly hesitant going in. My family of 4 has been seeing the team at Parkway Dental for over a decade, though, so I know firsthand that they are beyond competent. They actually CARE about their patients. At no time did I feel unsafe or uncared for. I was even given a lovely fleece blanket that proved to be a great calming agent. Truly, though, it is their professionalism and compassionate care that shepherded me through. I go back in about a week for my permanent crowns and am actually looking forward to it!
