The previous review is pretty spot-on. I was also harassed by this office. All direction comes from Dr. Andrea Ruby, so her minions just carry out her direction; upto and including how to respond and what to say when responding. Every question to her staff received the reply of checking with Dr. Ruby first and then providing a response. When asked why they can't just answer simple questions, I was told by one that Dr. Ruby wants all the information to come from her and how the info is relayed--I thought that was pretty strange. Dr. Ruby refused to address my concerns directly for the issues she caused. Ownership for her mistakes is severely lacking, and she not only refuses to accept responsibility for cutting one's gums open and filling the patient's mouth with blood but she will place the fault on the patient citing poor oral hygiene. So now I have a sore , bleeding mouth due to your negligence and you're stating that flossing, waterpicking, and using a Sonicare daily is a poor routine? She will then cancel appointments and distance herself as far from the victim as possible; not sure why anyone would want to go back but this is part of the unsolicited and constant communications coming from her office.
As one can probably guess, the customer service is in the toilet and that is led there by the dentist, Andrea Ruby. It is a nice office, but I found the lack of skill, and overt resistance to transparency by Dr. Ruby huge red flags. I felt like I was in a movie and being taken for a back-alley surgery after being drugged-- that erie feeling of everyone looking at you as you walk by and you haven't the faintest idea of what's about to happen? I had questions, due to visiting for the first time. On the initial phone call to make my appointment, Dr. Ruby made the appointment and refused to answer any questions on the phone prior to my visit. She told me we can discuss my questions when I came in. Upon arriving and being taken back to the seat, I found it odd that any question I asked that was not in accordance with Dr. Ruby's plan, or if I asked for clarification, she became extremely curt -- PRETTY MUCH JUST SIT IN THE CHAIR, DON'T QUESTION WHY I'M DOING THINGS MOST DENTISTS DON'T DO, AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. Dr. Ruby wanted to extract a tooth due to seeing a mark on the xray. When I questioned her, she neither had a definite answer as to it needing to be done, nor was she very happy that I didn't just let her pull it out and leave a huge gap in my smile. She tried to tell me that I was feeling all kinds of pain from it, and when I told her that I didn't feel any pain until she jabbed me with her tool and made my mouth bleed, AND I didn't understand how she thought pulling the tooth was valid when she hasn't even examined the actual tooth in my mouth, she provided me with a death stare and told me I should just have it removed. (She did not examine all my teeth, due to the pain and discomfort she was great at causing.)
I sensed a very care-less atmosphere upon entering and looking around. I sensed a prominent lack of skill from Dr. Ruby's adamant failure to be transparent and candid with me. I arrived for my 6-month cleaning with a clean mouth, no pain, and no loss of blood. I left there with an extremely sore mouth -- full of blood and an offer to pull teeth and come back for services I didn't need. I should have walked right back out the door upon walking in. I will never be back. read more
