I spent about an hour at the appointment and ultimately left without receiving any cleaning at all. After the initial exam, I was told I would need a deep cleaning instead of a standard cleaning, and that I needed to schedule a different day. When I asked if I could just proceed with a basic cleaning as I had waited a few weeks for this appointment, I was told they could do one if I "signed a waiver", after agreeing to this she changed her mind and said she "ethically" couldn't do a basic cleaning on me. To give more context, I am in early stages of perio as most people are when they age. I have no bone loss, and the majority of my "pockets" are in the 2s and 3s with some molars in the 4s and 5s. I am not categorized as someone that desperately needs dental work by far. I've had four cavities my entire life, and was told I had none at this appointment as well. I can't help but think this was somehow a money grab. The staff member was polite and professional throughout, but to be told that without agreeing to a much more expensive treatment, I wouldn't receive any cleaning at all was so strange. I wound up later being quoted about $1500 for the cleaning she said I needed. I understand wanting to provide appropriate care, but I would have appreciated clearer communication ahead of time and more flexibility in options as not everyone has dental insurance or $1500 laying around for basic dental care. I also want to mention that I was surprised to learn this clinic is part of a larger corporate group. It presents itself like a local, standalone practice, so I didn't realize the connection until the day before my appointment when they called to say I had been to one of their other locations previously and therefore didn't qualify for the new patient pricing. That part was fine, but it felt misleading since the other clinic has a completely different name and is in another city. I had no idea the two were connected--especially since I hadn't had a great experience at that prior location--so that added to the overall frustration.

As is to be expected, some are a little rougher than others but they always seem open to feedback if you need something done differently. Dr. Molldrem is also extremely friendly, and he is able to quickly perform exams so you don't spend too much time waiting around. The reason I've bumped my review down to 4 stars is that my family has occasionally had issues with miscommunications between the office and insurance companies regarding payment and coverage, leading to some confusion. But otherwise, we've usually had great experiences with Molldrem Family Dentistry!

At first it seemed procedural but it was not long until they started offering expensive services like mouth guards for night botox to stop teeth grinding. It felt like scare sales tactics every time i went in. I eventually got two new crowns after some visits and genuinely thinking they were necessary. Both of them popped out in less than a year. I called the office to see what they could do. They said I would have to pay for it all over again and laughed at me telling me there is no warranty on crowns. This was after the office people talked to Dr. Molldrem and called me back. I already got one redone and have to do the other soon. I have to pay for the crowns twice! UPDATE because I almost forgot about the random $1,000 bill i got after i thought I was all paid up because, for (1) they messed up the insurance calculation on the crowns and for (2) they couldn't figure my insurance out for the teeth cleaning (which I had) that could have been resolved had THEY not waited so long.

Dental hygienist Michelle is especially wonderful every time as well, she is always kind and compassionate, and takes care to make sure patients feel comfortable and safe. Her work is truly appreciated and makes a huge difference for a person with dentist anxiety. As someone with 6 oral piercings, i was used to judgment from dentists, but here my questions are answered with helpful information and without judgment. i highly recommend this location for anyone who struggles with dental anxiety due to fear of judgment or sensory issues !!

Total bummer! Finding a new provider can be tough, but I had a midmorning appointment with Dr. Ross Erickson and ended up having a really great experience. I arrived a little early and was warmly greeted by Andrea at the front desk. She was welcoming and professional, which set a positive tone right away. Shortly after checking in, Maria, the dental hygienist, called me back. She was just as kind and welcoming. Maria took the time to go over everything and clearly explained what would be happening during the visit. Dr. Erickson came in within just a couple of minutes after Maria finished. He introduced himself, asked if I had any specific concerns, and made sure to walk me through everything during the exam. I really appreciated how thorough and communicative he was....it helped ease any nerves I had about seeing someone new. The clinic itself is very clean, bright, and well-organized. Overall, a smooth, professional, and comfortable experience. While I'll always miss seeing Dr. Wolfe, I feel like I'm in good hands with Dr. Erickson and the team at Park Dental Salem Square clinic.

I have been there 4 visits in the past year. The front desk people are wonderful but there is a lot of churn and I have had 3 dentists in the past 8 months. The others have left. My issue is that I came for a routine cleaning today and interacted with a technician who told me that I needed x-rays. I mentioned that I had a full set of panoramic x-rays just 7monthas ago, and have had 2 panoramic CTscans in the last 2 months. He said that he discussed it with the dentist (Thorson, the owner of the practice) and she insisted I needed more. I asked to slack with her directly and that was refused. So, I was not allowed to speak with the provider about this and if I refused x-rays, they would not treat me. So I left. I explained that I had full x-rays just 7 mos ago and the ADA has rescinded their guidance to have x-rays every year. Sooo, I feel this place doesn't care about the individual (obviously) and only the money (for insisting on non necessary x-rays) and refusing to talk to me. Really? I should be able to speak directly with the provider. Stay away from this place!
