So I'd see a specialist for root canals. The front office is friendly & the office itself is beautiful but with that being said they are very expensive. I don't mind things being expensive if it's worth it but I had to have several root canals redone because roofs weren't treated.

I originally chose to go here by doing my due diligence and reading into the business and real life reviews, I really spent quite a bit of time vetting where I would go to change my smile permanently. This practice checked all of the boxes. They are very professional and kind. No pressure, no telling you that you need more than what you're asking for, they let you make your decisions and provide transparency with pricing. They don't send you automated spam texts for years after visiting and they treat people fairly. I'm very happy with Dr. Tenney's level of expertise and service-minded support. The office staff, dental assistants, neat & clean office and RESULTS are what has made their reputation so great. I actually had fun we laughed the entire time they worked on my teeth. And no I didn't have laughing gas. Dr. Schuerman has to be the coolest hippest most caring dentist I have ever met. She took her time, she explained what she was doing, she checked to see how I was doing. She gave me three shots and not one of them hurt. She was very professional. I would recommend her to everyone I know. The people at the front desk are amazing. Very caring and very nice. I love going to Desert Smiles.

The Dr gave me the shots and started drilling on 3 teeth. When I got home have after the numbing stopped, I noticed the DR didn't drill on the tooth that was broken. THATS WHY I WENT TO THE DENTIST. When my crowns were ready to install. During the install not one time did he ask me if they felt ok. I was thinking when he pulled them out, he would sand them down a little. No he glued them down, and it was too late to say there to tight. I felt like I was the Indy car driver & he was the mechanic trying to get me out of the office as fast as he could. Thought I just got something stuck in my cap. Nope I had a fracture in the root. So har to have my tooth pulled. This was part of a bridge so she had to cut the bridge and pull the molar. I put some headphones on and she was very gentle ( yeah I know still getting a tooth pulled) with it but before I knew it we were done. I got a few more things I need to go back and get done but I feel like I'm not getting taken advantage of.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed here in October and it was the best experience I could've…read moreasked for! The office and everyone working was super nice and helpful at all times. Dr. Hoaglin reassured me that even when I was under, a woman would be in the room at all times, which is thankfully something I have never had to question, but appreciated that it was something they took into consideration and made a point to say. The removal and recovery process went super smooth and I never had any issues! Once I woke up from the surgery, I was escorted out to the car by an assistant/nurse, along with my designated driver. Dr. Hoaglin even made a point to call me the night after surgery to check in and make sure that I was feeling okay. I seriously cannot recommend a better place than this one! I would also like to highlight the service they offer with wisdom teeth removal, which is the Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). I truly believe this helped my healing experience tremendously and definitely sped things up. I was never in any pain after surgery, more so just uncomfortable due to jaw stiffness. This was all manageable without pain meds! By day 7 or 8 I started feeling back to my normal self and felt 100% by day 12.

I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. If you're looking for a truly professional dentist who gives five-star care and service, this is the place. Dr. David Ngo at S&L is the only one I would recommend without any hesitation.

They seem very knowledgable and seem to know what they're doing when it comes to dentistry, but my concerns are more in the administration side of things. I changed jobs earlier this year and got new insurance with a common major insurance provider, and I needed to get a procedure done. I asked them what the procedure would cost and they gave me a quote, which was already expensive, and I paid that at the time of service. However, when I came in for a routine cleaning 6 months later, they said the insurance "didn't pay as much as they thought" and stuck me with MORE THAN DOUBLE their original quote. I looked into the insurance claim and called the insurance company myself, and the insurance company paid exactly what was according to their billing schedule. There were no surprises. I think the office knew (or should have known, because they're the professionals and this is what they do) that this would happen, and they dishonestly gave me a lower quote, did the service, and then stuck me with the even more expensive bill (but to their credit, they did give me a lower price than what they billed to insurance, but it was still VERY expensive that I was not prepared for). Additionally, I distinctly recall the procedure treated four teeth, but then on the bill and insurance claim, they say they treated six. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to argue this, especially because it happened so long ago. I suspect they didn't contact me about this issue earlier for this exact reason. Again, dishonest. Another concern with this dentist is that it's unprofessional that they use Zelle to get around credit/debit card transaction fees. Every merchant has to deal with card transaction fees, they shouldn't be up-charging that cost and they shouldn't be using Zelle, which is supposed to just be a peer-to-peer payment network. Lastly, as much as I love dogs, I don't think it's hygienic that they keep a dog in their office. In all, I started off loving this dentist, and very disappointed that they turned out to be this unprofessional and dishonest. I'm sad I'll have to go elsewhere from now on.
