It was pure serendipity that I crossed paths with Dr. Pavlotsky and I consider myself fortunate to have done so. The genuine friendliness of the doctor and her entire staff set the tone for a good experience. I write this after two appointments. The first, to take care of a broken filling, served as a test. A few months later I returned for a complete exam and prophylaxis. The doctor and the hygienist communicated well to me and to each other; they responded fully to my queries; and they were highly informational generally. They even have a varied collection of mags in the waiting room. That they are only about a mile from my home is merely icing on the cake!

She ignored noticeable swelling on the left side of my face, treated me like I was wasting her time, and dismissed me, saying I had nothing to worry about because the x-ray did not show anything was wrong. Still being in pain, I immediately consulted a real doctor. It was quickly apparent to him that I had a very bad sinus infection, which can present as a toothache and swelling of the face (something Mia Gooding clearly lacks the skills to identify). When I confronted the Gooding office about the major mistake their office made, they simply defended charging for the emergency appointment and said the findings of the exam were irrelevant. They truly could not have cared less. Avoid this practice.

We were contacted today, September 18th, letting us know that our insurance would not authorize the treatment without trying a CPAP first. I spent several hours speaking to different departments at our insurance company to find out the procedure and after much research and speaking with a high level supervisor, it was confirmed to me that we did NOT need any prior authorization, nor does my son need to try a CPAP before getting a mouth guard. When I called the office to discuss this with them, I was met with a rude women who would not allow me to speak. Who in fact told me that I could pay them $2500 upfront and then fight with my insurance company to be paid back. She was a receptionist...not even billing! Do not go to this dentist office is you would like to ask questions or advocate for yourself. They do not want to hear anything at all and think they know what they are talking about...not to mention WAY overpriced. He has the ability to put people at ease whether they are 9 or 90. I have to say that Caroline Danish, of Danish & O'Laughlin, is by far the best dentist I've ever had the pleasure of being treated by. Sounds strange to use the terms "dentist" and "pleasure" in the same sentence, but Caroline's skill, professionalism and chair-side manner are second to none. The big difference between her and other dentists is that she treats you like a person, not just an appointment. She cares about her patients. She'll take time to fully explain your treatment options and will do everything possible to preserve the teeth you have. I actually look forward to my trips to the dentist now.
