About 30 minutes after he injected me in my jaw, I felt a sharp pain and strange effects above my left eyebrow and across the left side of my face. I noticed new wrinkles above my left brow that had not previously existed, and the muscles on the left side of my face felt strained and tight. It felt incredibly invasive to have Botox injected into my jaw and then experience unusual sensations and changes extending all the way up to my brow. And this was after an injection that took him all of about 20 seconds before he was out the door (no real check-in, barely any time spent, just in and gone). I went back the next day after I felt the strange effects on the left side of my face and saw another doctor, who told me that what I was experiencing was not typical. When I brought my concerns back to Dr. Kojanis, I have never felt so dismissed by a medical professional in my life. I described changes that began about half an hour after the injection, and he treated me like I was imagining it. He just insisted whatever I was experiencing had nothing to do with him. Don't just take my word for it, read the messages for yourself. What I find genuinely alarming is that a medical professional would be this unwilling to even consider a possible connection between his own injection and symptoms that began immediately afterward. Because Botox wears off over time, by the time the effects resolve there will be little objective evidence of what I experienced. That makes me feel like my concerns will never be taken seriously. He took my money, refused to refund me, and made me feel dismissed after I raised symptoms that began shortly after the procedure. I trusted him, and I regret it deeply. I also intend to report him to the New Jersey State Board of Dentistry.

First I have extremly sensitive teeth and gums. There have been times in which a routine cleaning has brought me to tears in the chair from the pain. I've had extractions and root canals done in the past by other dentists and had complications, would be in pain afterwards for days, and one time I woke up from the sedation while the dentist was still operating. Because of all of these bad past experiences, I've neglected going to a dentist regularly and would only go in an emergenc, which usually meant extraction. I've used the same oral surgeon for the last 15 years, however this time I needed 4 teeth from the front of my mouth extracted. The last time I had one front tooth extracted, I was in pain for 4 days, had bone or tooth chips punshing thru my gums a week later and felt miserable overall for two weeks. Because of this problem last time I decided to look around for a new oral surgeon. I did a search right here on Yelp for oral surgeons and came across Dr. Barry Jason. I read the reviews posted and one of them, Jeff I think, just struck a tone with me that motivated me to call Dr.Jason. I called the office and left a message explaining my situation. Dr.J called me back pretty quickly and scheduled me to come in immediately. Needless to say I was scared and in pain. After some xrays and examination, he gave me the bad news. I needed 8 teeth extracted. Before I go any further I want to comment of the dr and staff. Dr. Jason is kind of laid back and mellow but professional. He makes you feel at ease as does his assistant. He is confidant and reassuring in his manner. The whole staff makes you feel like your family, they genuinely care about you. Dr.Jason explained what needed to be done, approximately how long it would take and assured me it would be painless. Not only was he going to do the extractions, he would then do the molds and replacement teeth. As I have only 8 of my original teeth, I would need upper and lower removable plates made. He did the extractions in two visits, 4 teeth each time. Those two procedures went flawlessly. I was sedated, felt nothing and when I woke up there was hardly any discomfort. I never took any pain medication for either afterwards. I was Not In Any Pain whatsoever afterwards. It was amazing. Eight weeks later I had my new "million dollar smile". It took me a few weeks to get use to them, but now they are great. I eat steaks and smile alot. Everyone who knows me says how great they look. I can not begin to express my gratitude and satisfaction with Dr.Jason and his staff. Everyone in his office made this a great experince for me. If you are like me, afraid to go to the dentist because of pain or embarasment or anixity then give Dr. Jason a call and see what he can do for you. You won't regret it. Dr. Pinadella's office is conveniently located in Clifton, it is nicely furnished and decorated, the front office experience is pleasant, the staff is ready to treat me when I arrive, and the appointment lengths are sufficient. What should have been a straightforward process turned into nearly two weeks of unnecessary frustration, repeated follow-ups, and zero accountability. I had my consultation on June 1, 2026, and as of June 12, 2026, no treatment has been performed despite being in significant tooth pain throughout this entire period. The delay appears to be related to issues with submitting the necessary documentation to my insurance company for approval. Over the past two weeks, I have repeatedly had to contact both the office and my insurance company to follow up on the status of my authorization. I was repeatedly told that documentation had been submitted, yet my insurance company had no record of receiving the required paperwork. As the patient, I found myself acting as the middleman between the office and the insurance company just to try to move the process forward. I also spoke directly with Dr. Gekht regarding these ongoing issues. I was disappointed to learn that the matter would not be reviewed until Monday, June 15, due to office scheduling. Meanwhile, I have continued to deal with unresolved dental pain. Based on my experience, communication, follow-through, and coordination with insurance have been extremely poor. Patients should not have to spend weeks chasing answers, coordinating between an office and their insurance company, and advocating for care while suffering in pain.
