It was clear to me the staff knew what they were doing and saying. Then I had my consultation with Dr Akbar, he was very thorough and answered all my questions, he was very patient and understanding. I felt like I was heard and he understood my concerns. At my second visit I was treated with the same professionalism. I would highly recommend this Dentist to all my friends. The staff and Drs know what they are talking about and you get that confidence right away. I'm happy I gave this office a chance and will continue to use them going forward. Thank you.

Appointment scheduled for Dec 30 as the Doctor was on vacation until then. I had a confusing entry on my calendar and called the office today (Dec 29) to clarify the date/time. I was told it is scheduled for Dec 30 .... but the doctor has decided to take more time off and I would have to reschedule. They just wasted $3K of my money. I will need more work done next year which is why I scheduled for Dec 30 to use up my balance for 2025. Of course they are sorry. I never got a call ... nothing. I will never go back there. I will never recommend. I will share my experience with others.

Hes been having adverse effects using tram and im almost sure they will just say "give him Tylenol and Motrin then" because she thinks the DEA will see ten real pain killers for surgery and will go ballistic on her door...just bad service basically and prescribing garbage

Not to age myself or Dr. Mehra, but Dr. Mehra has been my dentist for well over 30 years (since the…read moredays when the office was located on Lincoln Ave). If that alone doesn't let you know that he's a fantastic dentist whom you can feel comfortable with and trust, not sure that anything I write in this review will help. I have twice in my life had to use a different dentist due to choosing the wrong insurance during open enrollment, and those experiences were terrible. I'm sorry that Michelle from the earlier review seemed to have such a terrible experience with Dr. Mehra, but I do question how much of that story is exaggerated to add extra drama to the complaint. In my many years I have never experienced or observed Dr. Mehra being anything but courteous, and polite, and has never raised his voice to any patient while in my presence. Which goes for my family as well- he's my parent's dentist, my husband's, and my son's dentist. Dr. Mehra is the type of man that will come in on his days off to help you with a dental emergency, or even schedule an appointment after hours to help take care of any issues. I don't often write reviews, but I happened to be googling to verify the hours for today, since I have a dental emergency that needs some assistance and want to be respectful of his time off. So, I just wanted to set the record straight that Dr. Mehra is a wonderful dentist and is extremely knowledgeable. He comes highly recommended from myself and my family. And I don't want to leave Brenda out either- She's wonderful too!

I am sorry about the woman who claimed to have an issue with his work, but in my opinion he is one of the best. He doesn't lecture you, he is kind, always asking if you are okay or in any pain. For years, I was terrified of going to the dentist. No more. You have to see for yourself. A very calm/ friendly atmosphere. 10 gazillion stars. It is like seeing old friends every time you have to go to an appointment.

I was referred to this office and made my situation abundantly clear from the start: I am traveling…read morefrom Chicago, paying entirely out of pocket, and have an extremely limited and hectic work schedule. I called three months in advance specifically to secure surgery during a pre-approved week off in January. I was explicitly told there was availability, with the only requirement being a pre-op appointment. I completely understand this needed pre- appt. I drove in from Chicago at 5AM for that appointment, and was told my X-rays from 12 months prior were "too old." While frustrating, I understood and agreed to repeat imaging, paying $450 that day. After the exam, I was sent to reception to pay and "schedule surgery," only to then be told I would need yet another appointment before surgery could even be scheduled -- something that was never disclosed minutes earlier in the room. After explaining that I had already made a lengthy trip and that this was not what had been communicated to me, the staff briefly conferred and suddenly said they could perform the cone beam scan that same day for an additional $350. Wanting to avoid yet another trip and finally move forward, I agreed and paid on the spot. After completing the scan, I was once again sent to reception, where I was then told they actually could not accommodate surgery during the very week they had originally promised. At that point, I had paid roughly $800 for appointments day of and scans based entirely on their assurances, only to be told they could not deliver what had been guaranteed. I remained polite, rescheduled for my next available time off (cancelling my personal VACATION) in March, and clearly explained that this would be my only window until June. I also emphasized that I am in significant pain and that the delay was severely impacting my quality of life. The response was largely dismissive. I left defeated and disappointed, but understood that things happen. I received a call last week (Feb.9th from Allie) informing me that they could not perform my surgery at all because Dr. Kimmel would be "busy." It is baffling that I was scheduled in the first place if this was the case. At this point, I politely requested copies of my receipts, X-rays, and cone beam scan so I could seek care elsewhere. The tone immediately shifted, and I was met with impatience, dismissiveness, and clear irritation simply for asking for records I had paid for. When the emailed records did not include the $350 cone beam scan, I followed up and again encountered attitude questioning why I would need it despite the fact that I personally funded it. It was eventually mailed to me on a CD. This entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and profoundly unprofessional. My family has spent tens of thousands of dollars here over the years as uninsured, cash-paying patients, which makes this level of disregard even more disappointing. It is clear to me the dismissive communication here demonstrates a serious lack of respect for patients' time, finances, and well-being. To say I am disappointed in the level of care and professionalism would be an understatement. This is not how you treat loyal, paying patients. I hope this is a "one-off" situation for this office because Dr. Kimmel himself was incredibly kind and thorough with explaining my surgery that I unfortunately, will not be having here.

Horrible experience. Ofice staff are friendly, but Dr. Wagner is a cold person with no empathy.read more
