Dr. Berard is an excellent physician - for all of the reasons others have mentioned below. I am in my mid-fortes and have been a patient for 20 years. It is an hour drive for me to see him, but I think it's worth it. I have had many difficult issues to diagnose issues over the years - and he is patient, knowledgeable, and answers my questions without rushing me. As others have noted, this sometimes does cause wait times, but once he is with you, he is focused on you (I build the wait time into my schedule whenever I go in). His medical assistants and lab staff are also really quality professionals. Since being acquired by Adventist Group, it is true that the front desk staff quality has diminished. I am not sure why -- several have been there for years. But it is true that when you call, the wait time can be extensive and the staff seem annoyed to have to answer the phone and generally frustrated by work-related tasks. While sitting in the waiting room, I have observed the front desk staff place patients on hold for up to five minutes, so that they could finish personal conversations about non-work related issues (e.g., dating, celebrity gossip, etc.). I would suggest a review of the front desk staff - I think better quality staff could be found. read more

1) There are way too many people working here doing NOTHING. I am thinking a lot of the employees are family members or friends. How can you have an overstaffed office and work extremely slow? 2) Dr. Berard is rarely in the office, but the Nurse Practitioner's are super nice. Make sure you research what they prescribe you. They prescribe some random things for patients and never explain why to the patient--unless you ask! 3) I work at another medical office and I have to call Dr. Berard's office like a telemarketer to get them to do anything for their patients. Seriously, I have to call at least three to four times a day for a fax. read more

Dr. Berard is an excellent physician who truly cares about his patients and listens carefully to what we have to say. My wife and I both think the world of him and tell all our friends about him. The reason for the longer wait times than some offices is that he spends so much time with each patient. You never feel rushed or pushed out the door and his diagnoses and recommendations have always been spot on. We are 74 and 72 and he is our favorite doctor ever! read more

This practice used to be good but since Dr. Berard sold his practice to Adventist Medical Group a few years ago it has been quite difficult to actually see them. They won't use the online appointment system anymore, they just send you a message telling you to call the office where you get put on hold forever. The last few times I've called with legitimate problems (past 2 years or so), I've been told to go to Urgent Care. The people who answer the phone are quite rude and sound like you're bothering them. Dr. Summers was very pleasant and thorough back in the days when I was actually allowed to have an appointment. There used to be 2 women who were the nurse practitioners but I guess they're long gone? Not sure who else is practicing here anymore. read more

The wait time can be very very long. Nice people (really). Good enough care--the doctor is thorough. I've gone there for years, but now I'm done. Wait times are terrible (understatement--I forget how bad it is because I don't go there often. And then I go, and wait and wait and wait and watch the clock tick by, and have some deja vu...). Last time I was there (it was a morning, not in a cold or flu season, didn't seem like things were particularly busy) I was seen 80 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Who needs that? Dr. Berard has an excellent bedside manner. I have had a spectrum of physical issues over the years and he never fails to amaze me. He's smart and sensitive. My husband and son both go to him as well. If you can't get in to see him, ask for Mary K. his P.A. She rocks too! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Berard for over 10 years now and I think he is a wonderful Doctor. He is always thorough and detailed in all explanations concerning my health. His staff have always been more than accommodating to me in all of my needs when I call or when I am there in person. If you don't want to call, just use the online Website and send an email; I've tried that and got an immediate response. Also, for those who complain about the wait times, I find that in many GOOD doctor offices. But I am willing to wait just to see Dr. Berard. For me it is worth it. read more

This is a review for Dr. Berard's practice, as opposed to himself, because I never actually consulted him in person. However, his entire staff, including the RNs, are very helpful, professional, and friendly. I have had his practice as my primary care for something longer than five years, and have never had cause for complaint, including in the one medical emergency I have had when I needed urgent referrals to specialists. I strongly recommend this practice. read more

After he decided to drop my health insurance without any written notification, I was charged almost $100.00 for my health records! I would not recommend Dr Berard. read more
