I'm sharing this experience because it doesn't align with this clinic's otherwise positive reviews…read more Before my ultrasound results were available, I explained that I had a new insurance deductible and asked if there was a workaround: if the results were unremarkable, could I avoid a visit altogether and only come in (or do telehealth) if follow-up or referral was actually needed. I was clear that I was willing to schedule a visit if there was a concern. That request was never addressed. When I later shared that the interaction felt unhelpful, the response was multiple phone calls in a row. During that call, I was told only that results must be reviewed as an appointment, with no discussion of alternatives. Even a basic confirmation of whether results were unremarkable was framed as requiring a billable visit--an approach that appears inconsistent with Washington State billing guidance distinguishing administrative acknowledgment of normal results from billable clinical services. I expect the office may respond by citing "policy," and they're welcome to do so. But this ultimately comes down to nuance: how policy is applied in practice, and whether any effort is made to accommodate reasonable, cost-conscious patient requests raised in advance. If you value billing transparency and patient-centered flexibility, this may not be the right office for you. **Notes based off the offices response; I want to make it very clear that I attempted a collaborative conversation, and at no point was I met with one. I asked in writing whether a visit could be avoided if no follow-up was needed. That question wasn't addressed; the only response was that results must be reviewed in an appointment. That's the disconnect I was trying to describe. I understand that providing clinical interpretation is billable; however, my request was limited to whether the already-interpreted results were unremarkable and whether follow-up was needed. I was met with a refusal to communicate without a visit--which is the distinction I was trying to raise.

I have had a number of orthopedic surgeries in the past. I think Swedish Orthopedic USED to be top…read morenotch and still has some decent surgeons. My most recent experiences, however, show a complete lack of professionalism. My CT scans from a month ago have not been reviewed, and multiple calls to my surgeon have been ignored. Dr. Basamania has enjoyed a stellar reputation but I think his recent performance is subpar. I have been living with pain and a completely useless left shoulder since his revision surgery nine months ago. I understand that my situation might be complex, but to simply not respond to a patient is unconscionable.

Saw another reviewer mention a failed surgery with Keem and that "complications occur," as if this…read moreisn't what so often happens with Keem (I've met people who've known physical therapists who work with numerous butchered Keem patients at a time) - so I'm back to update my review. This is a placeholder until I type out another banger lambasting Keem for being a terrible surgeon. Keem told me my artificial disc migrated - in actuality, a team of Virginia Mason neurosurgeons investigated, and found the disc was installed in the wrong place (which took a while to diagnose, as Keem refused to release intra-operative imaging for close to a year). Entire steps of my surgery were skipped. And he lied to my face about it - and to the Polyclinic ... just before mysteriously leaving his cushy position as their sole spinal surgeon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Keem is a lazy, incompetent butcher. I still experience daily pain and take daily pain medications after what he did to me as a young athlete. He mysteriously vanished from the Polyclinic after multiple government investigations of my surgery, including a winning ruling by the Washington state AG's office because Keem was double-paid by both me and my insurance, and his office said I'd have to sue him directly to be reimbursed. He's corrupt, and a liar. After some time floating around, it appears he's been hired by Swedish. They should be ashamed of themselves - I reached out directly to share the results of my surgery. Clearly, Swedish doesn't care about the longevity of their patients, or keeping them safe, functional, and pain-free. Keep in mind that this man has a long and extensive history of "complicated" surgeries, as well as kickbacks into the millions from the manufacturer of the only artificial disc he installs. (They also cover fusion equipment, etc.) I could find no other surgeon who only uses equipment from one company ... let alone ones paid by them on the side. More corruption to the absolute core. More coming. I have other reviews for him in my profile, including one in which I caught him leaving himself a fake positive review. Don't be fooled by this slimy, unctuous guy who has a long history of leaving his patients immediately post-op to go get paid by Medtronic while they suffer through permanent and life-changing complications. Expect a PA to see you for your first post-op appointment (dangerous and insidious scope creep, going against all advice of the American Medical Association), and expect them to misread your imaging and gaslight you about your pain because they have no idea what they're talking about. This is an established pattern of Keem's. If Keem has 5,000 haters, I'm one of them. If Keem has 1 hater, it's me. If Keem has 0 haters, it's because his rotten surgery finally killed me Lmaoooo. If Shakespeare knew this guy, he'd call him an egg.

I'm committed to happy feet!…read more Those were the first words I spoke to Dr. Alexis. I had been suffering for months with foot pain that was changing how I stood and walked. I went to Dr. Alexis for what I thought was a wort that wouldn't go away. Everything I did too self treat wouldn't make the wart go away. After four months of pain and discomfort (missing dance classes and workouts), I finally broke down and booked an appointment. The office was clean and followed Covid-19 protocols keeping herself and her clients safe. Dr. Alexis is very knowledgeable. She asked meaningful questions and listened attentively to my experience. She then gently examined the area and helped me understand the root cause of my condition! She was thoughtful with answering my questions and got consent for each layer of treatment she provided. I left her office in less pain, and equipped with tools to support my ongoing foot health. I have gone back one additional time, with some of my shoes and Dr. Alexis educated me and gave me tools to have foot comfort with each pair! I feel supported and empowered on my foot healing journey! Dr. Alexis is the ideal person to have on your foot wellness team!! Highly recommended!!! Book your appointment today!!

Got to meet with Dr. Beirman prior to surgery, he was full of energy and assured me everything was going to be okay....cool guy!...I was so comfortable I didn't want to go home! I had no pain afterwards, just some swelling and used ice to help. Had absolutely no problems with this surgery. My only bitch was not being able to drive for six weeks, but I had my pins removed today, no problems there and in a week or so I will be able to drive and wear a normal shoe. If you are considering a hammertoe surgery and have done your research you know that this is not a simple operation. I could not be happier with the results. And I want to stress that throughout this long procedure, Dr. Beirman answered all of my questions, didn't sugar coat any of the drawbacks and assured me that some of my fears and hesitations were normal...but walking around in pain was not normal. I am glad I went into this with his help and I'm glad to be on the other side looking back and realizing although this was arduous, I wouldn't be here if he wasn't a complete professional and an excellent doctor. I hope my review will help anyone contemplating this kind of surgery to consider Dr. Beirman.

My experience with OPA Orthopedics was completely unacceptable…read more I was referred to OPA after a serious motorcycle accident on July 18 with multiple fractures that required orthopedic follow-up. They received my medical records and imaging, then lost my file. After more follow-up, I was told my records had also not been properly sent over for review, causing even more delay. Then, after weeks of waiting while I was recovering from broken bones, they finally determined that they do not even accept my insurance. So OPA lost my file, failed to process my records correctly, delayed the medical review, communicated poorly throughout the process, and then only after all of that figured out that they could not see me because of my insurance. That is an unacceptable level of incompetence for a medical office dealing with injured patients. This was not just an inconvenience. I needed timely orthopedic care after a major accident, and their administrative failures wasted weeks of my recovery. I would not recommend OPA Orthopedics based on my experience.

He is a light-hearted, affable human being with a thorough approach to understanding patient's concerns. He responds with emotional intelligence, so in my book he is a brilliant individual with the positive vibe of a "healer". He explained my diagnosis of plantar fascitis in full detail, laying out traditional medicine treatment techniques available through physical therapy and gave me the required paperwork very clearly. When I came at him with a dozen questions about massage, about orthotics, about shoe types, about alternate therapies, he gave serious, well-considered responses to each. He was sharp and knew exactly what I was getting at with each modality. I was well satisfied that he gave me what the research showed. He went above and beyond research however, to summarize various lines of anecdotal evidence even discussing the placebo effect that influences patient's outcomes. I came away feeling he was an empathic and good soul. By the way the office experience was seamless. Having provided my details about ID/insurance by phone to *another* Virginia Mason intake telephone operator, I was fully taken care of so the physical entry process at this office was painless.
