The venue is Execelsior cinema which is located at 29 Ballynichol Road, Comber, BT23 5NW. It holds up to 30 people and shows whatever film you like! Eoin had secretly sussed out what film she would like to watch over Christmas and she said "Edward Scissorhands"! So Edward it was! We all arrived early and set up our sweets, popcorn and drinks in anticipation of Clara's arrival. She was so shocked to discover us all sitting there in the cosy cinema, donning our best Christmas jumpers! The cinema is a class idea for a special occasion because it really is such a private venue for family and friends. I'm already trying to think of an occasion to get hiring it again!

One of my partner's favourite films is The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers and he'd mentioned how he would love to see it again on the big screen, so this was the obvious choice. They don't have a massive web presence, but I found the telephone number online and rang to speak to Roy, the proprietor, and we got booked in. We arrived on Saturday night and saw the cinema for the first time. Roy had taken the time to spell out Happy Birthday Craig on the billboard which added a fantastic personal touch. He invited us inside and showed us around. The cinema was done up in a 1950's style and looked unreal! There were lots of old movie pictures and figurines inside. The cinema seats up to 30 people - the seating is the traditional cinema style 'flip up seats, which were really comfortable. There is also a bathroom inside the cinema so you don't need to leave. Roy then started the movie and left us to enjoy it, there is a call bell in the foyer though if we had needed any assistance. You are allowed to bring in your own food and drink, including alcohol! All in all this was a fantastic experiece which I recommend far and wide!

Within another 6 months of the price increase Omniplex Dundonald withdrew the "Premium" option and reverted the price t o£11.99 but with a sneaky £6 uplift per seat per film if you want recliner seats. Pure greed ! The pick and mix sweets area is unhygienic , food and drink is expensive and the toilet facilities are also often unclean. Sadly Omniplex Dundonald will no longer be receiving my business.

Best cinema ever!…read more Despite the fact that we have a cinema locally to where we live, the Movie House on the Dublin Road is the only cinema we go to. The cinema is in a good location in town with lots of on street parking available, or if it's busy, there is a multi story car park to the rear. If you fancy making a night of it, there are lots of restaurants in the area too. The cinema itself is over two floors, with food kiosks on both, and a coffee bar on the first floor, in case you arrive super early for the film, like we always seem to! There is a good selection of food available: Nachos (My favourite) with lots of cheese sauce and salsa, hotdogs, ice-cream, bags of sweets, crisps, and pick-n-mix. The screens are spacious and the seats are comfortable, what more could you ask for!

Cheap - £6.50 per ticket with student and OAP discounts Cons; Unreserved seating which makes it a bit of a free for all and means you should turn up early of you want to get good seat. As mentioned queues let this place down - it may be due to its popularity but you need to make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before your screening time if you want to get snacks.

Walking into the Jet centre and heading to the cinema I was very please to see and be able to tell you the place looked bright, tidy, professional and buzzing with people. Also not too dear and have all the snacks a cinema goer could want. Highly recommend it.

Today I held a private screening of Night at the museum 3, for my son and 14 other children and the staff were unbelievable. You might be reading this thinking "Private screening bet that cost a fortune!" If this thought is scrolling around your mind, it is very wrong. For £5.50 per child, we were given our own screen and each of the kids got a small popcorn and a drink! With accompanying adults going free! Those of you unfortunate enough to have to book and pay for a kids party will know that is good value, and I really can't understand why they don't advertise this. Anyway, before the show started the team advised me that I could have the screen for another half hour after the show had ended to sing the obligatory rendition of happy birthday and even bring food in! What a great party the kids had and in such a great setting which really added to the occasion. The massive benefit of having the staff handle clean up, really meant a stress free time and a very enjoyable day. PS Ben Stiller needs to stop doing those films now.

Although when I visited it wasn't open. On my most recent visit we took my nieces to see Alvin and the chipmunks - surprised it wasn't on the Oscars shortlist to be honest - anyway, their exuberance and excitement for Bangor cinema took me back to my youth (sounding old here) when a cinema visit was a day out. Bangor Omniplex is very child friendly with booster seat available, kids meal deals, ticket deals and easy to locate toilets. Although beware of the pick'a'mix, they charge by the cup! Most adults know that in this case you jam as many sweets in as possible to ensure you're getting value for money but my niece thought the £4 cup was a great holder for 2 15p drumsticks! Something to look out for! The staff are great, they even informed me of the kids combo deal to save me from getting completely rinsed. The cinema itself is great - the screens are large meaning it's not too often that they'll be full. I was actually surprised about how quiet it was on a Saturday afternoon! The staff is friendly and I have never come across broken seating or sticky floors when visiting. Lots of space which is a big plus so you don't have to cram in next to another couple if you don't want to. Comfortable well maintained seats and the screen itself is in excellent shape. The concessions and the facilities have always been clean when I've gone in.

It was a delightful watch in this charmless world mostly ruled by monsters as WW3 (which has started - economics/natural resources/trade wars) and we will go to see it again very soon. We'll stay north and save £2 each too. I read the view of one critic whose name I don't recall whose bitchy review I didn't recognise and at one point I wondered if we'd seen a different flick. The cinema was clean and fresh and a far cry of picture houses when I grew up full of dandruff, bits of chewing gum, rancid tobacco smells and brylcreem residue. The product was invented in Birmingham England in 1928 and for years was omnipresent around me among boys and men from I could work things out for myself. It and Old Spice. What a combo which I completely shunned. Old Spice was originally targetted at women. I digress so I'd expected our centre near to front armchair seats to push button recline but no. The place was packed and I was surprised to see a kit of young women but not many young men and of course no shortage of us disputably described as 'old'. This was a disappointment but the rain hammering on the roof a few times really marred enjoyment so there's no decent soundproofing: but I'm assured global warming is merely a figment of my imagination if that's wrong drill baby drill may become die baby die. The popcorn and other food offerings like every cinema I've been in are grotesquely overpriced so we brought our own. We enjoyed it but I do think I'll stay north of the border for movies in future.

Wow Dundalk's newest cinema. And apparently Ireland's only cinema with two of the MAXX cinema…read morescreens. They place is great and a welcome new arrival by all to Dundalk. The staff first training module must be customer service with a smile which they without a doubt scored top marks. They are friendly helpful and patient. The cinema is new so all fittings and fixtures are as expected great and shinny. Cinema screens are good and massive with comfy seats. Screen one does has a small hiss during adverts from the lights but this disappears when the actual movie deigns and manage said it will be fixed shortly. Helpful again :)
