The seats are comfy, and raised so you are not stuck with someones big head filling the screen! It's not cheap but no more expensive than the Odeon and there are other smaller screens, at cheaper prices if you're not that bothered, and size doesn't matter to you.... You can pre book seats which I love and the selection of snacks is good, love their popcorn! Worth a trip up from Belfast in my opinion, and it was extra special seeing Star Wars on the big screen!

The cinema is in a good location in town with lots of on street parking available, or if it's busy, there is a multi story car park to the rear. If you fancy making a night of it, there are lots of restaurants in the area too. The cinema itself is over two floors, with food kiosks on both, and a coffee bar on the first floor, in case you arrive super early for the film, like we always seem to! There is a good selection of food available: Nachos (My favourite) with lots of cheese sauce and salsa, hotdogs, ice-cream, bags of sweets, crisps, and pick-n-mix. The screens are spacious and the seats are comfortable, what more could you ask for!

As mentioned queues let this place down - it may be due to its popularity but you need to make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before your screening time if you want to get snacks.

The venue is Execelsior cinema which is located at 29 Ballynichol Road, Comber, BT23 5NW. It holds up to 30 people and shows whatever film you like! Eoin had secretly sussed out what film she would like to watch over Christmas and she said "Edward Scissorhands"! So Edward it was! We all arrived early and set up our sweets, popcorn and drinks in anticipation of Clara's arrival. She was so shocked to discover us all sitting there in the cosy cinema, donning our best Christmas jumpers! They don't have a massive web presence, but I found the telephone number online and rang to speak to Roy, the proprietor, and we got booked in. We arrived on Saturday night and saw the cinema for the first time. Roy had taken the time to spell out Happy Birthday Craig on the billboard which added a fantastic personal touch. He invited us inside and showed us around. The cinema was done up in a 1950's style and looked unreal! There were lots of old movie pictures and figurines inside. The cinema seats up to 30 people - the seating is the traditional cinema style 'flip up seats, which were really comfortable. There is also a bathroom inside the cinema so you don't need to leave. Roy then started the movie and left us to enjoy it, there is a call bell in the foyer though if we had needed any assistance. You are allowed to bring in your own food and drink, including alcohol! All in all this was a fantastic experiece which I recommend far and wide!

Walking into the Jet centre and heading to the cinema I was very please to see and be able to tell you the place looked bright, tidy, professional and buzzing with people. Within another 6 months of the price increase Omniplex Dundonald withdrew the "Premium" option and reverted the price t o£11.99 but with a sneaky £6 uplift per seat per film if you want recliner seats. Pure greed ! The pick and mix sweets area is unhygienic , food and drink is expensive and the toilet facilities are also often unclean. Sadly Omniplex Dundonald will no longer be receiving my business.

It also seats 190 people. The other screen has been designed to be more modern with blue and red strip lights on the walls and turquoise seats. It's much smaller than screen 1 as it only seats 50 people, but makes it much cosier to sit in. It's also open every day of the year (apart from Christmas Day) from about midday until about 9pm, showing films all day long. There's also a cafe now where you can purchase hot drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, special hot chocolates (Nutella, Jaffa Cake, Oreo, Gingerbread and many more!) cold drinks such as bottles and cans of juice, iced coffees and also alcoholic beverages! There's a wide variety of snacks and baking, and of course, popcorn. There's also bagels to purchase between 12pm and 4pm, many different fillings like smoked salmon and cream cheese, ham and cheese, peanut butter and jelly. A lot of the food and alcoholic beverages are sourced locally, like the Kinryre Gin and Gigha ice cream. All food and drink that's sold in the Picture House can be taken into the auditoriums as well. The staff is friendly and I have never come across broken seating or sticky floors when visiting. Lots of space which is a big plus so you don't have to cram in next to another couple if you don't want to. Comfortable well maintained seats and the screen itself is in excellent shape. The concessions and the facilities have always been clean when I've gone in.

There is a restaurant right beside here which is handy if you fancy a meal before or after. Nice cinema which is handy, quiet and not expensive.
