It's a smaller location in a commercial plaza, with open doors and two sections: the bar and a few tables, and an event area with barrels and tables. They had a big selection of to-go beer as well. I had a flight of favorite styles and wasn't disappointed in any of them. Great quality and selection overall. If you're a beer fan and vacationing in Gold Coast, this is a must visit. It's a rarity to find a pub or bar in the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise where the staff actually enjoy working there. It definitely makes a difference to the venue's vibe! The bar staff also enjoy a good chat and a bit of banter across the bar and this is one of the few Irish pubs in Surfers that actually employees Irish people! Not only adding to the atmosphere, but it means there are staff who can actually pour a good pint of Guinness! There is live music most nights of the week from 9pm, with a band on every Friday and Saturday night. True to their roots there is also traditional Irish entertainment there every Sunday afternoon. In terms of food it has a great range of pub style food at great prices. I've found the food to always be amazing, even the specials (usually $10-15) are spot on! You definitely can't go past the $10 steaks that they do for lunch and dinner! One of the main things that I LOVE about the food here is that they stick to what they're good at; good quality pub-style food at a reasonable price! Place looked impressive, they have a prohibition theme going on and some staff were dressed in that era. I must say, they looked very stylish. A smiling and very personable Abigail took our coffee orders and the charming Shannon took our food requests. Kudos to the flair and the warm interaction they both had. Nothing was troublesome and the food arrived in less then 10 minutes. Wow. I would definitely come here again; especially after Abigail took the time to talk about the Loose Moose like it was her own business. The Royal (James) hotel was the first one to pop up. The trip out to Harrisville is beautiful, surrounded by Australian mountains and farming lands as you travel through cute little towns. The menu isn't just "pub food" as you may expect and they have glasses of wine for under $6! (Alcohol in Australia is pricey so this is good).
