This company was recommended to me but the experience was terrible. They refused to use my old cameras and forced me to buy new ones. Once installed I realize there are exactly the same quality that I used to have only my old ones had motion detection the new ones don't and cost twice as much.They then ran new wiring and did not take out my old cameras or wiring so now I have duplicates. They placed the cameras whatever they wanted (easiest spot) despite having told them where I wanted everything so now I have half my cameras not showing anything and they said that they would need to charge me again to move them. The monitoring service is awful and the lack of customization that I can do for notifications is very poor. A two day job took over eight days and the excuses surrounding why was taking so long was absurd. I guess the tech (son) doesn't like to work early because we open at 8 AM but they never showed up before noon and I would have to wait for them to finish Each day. They promised a high-tech monitoring system (which they did not provide) and I specifically told them I didn't want the "hik connect" app because it's clunky and not easy to use and one if the main reasons I was putting in a new system. They said they did not use that technology. They provided a white labeled version of the VERY SAME app and kept telling me it wasn't the same. When I was still having problems setting it up a month after installation I ended up having to to get on with customer support they sent me to hik-connect.com. It took nearly 2 months to get the owner out to show him my issues and he basically said- oh well. You can pay again to do anything over. I had to install nest cameras since MSS never added the motion detection promised and I use the nest 100x morE than the hardwired cameras that show nothing. ICompanies like this make being a female business owner harder than it should be and shouldn't be supported. read more

I am a very technical person and have a decent amount of experience doing in-wall residential wiring (for my last two homes I personally installed whole home ethernet to every room). Recently I decided to install nine IP security cameras to my home which required running nine separate ethernet drops to external locations of my house. Normally I would have done this work myself but due to the sheer scope of the work (including performing cabling at nearly thirty feet off the ground, and one particularly difficult cable run that was beyond my expertise) I decided to call in the professionals. I was not looking for some random handyman to come out and do it, I wanted a fully licensed and professional wiring company. Basically my expectations was that anyone I hired would do a far better job than I could do. I purchased all my own cameras and hardware and only wanted a company to do the physical wiring, mounting of the cameras and routing of the cables to my existing wiring closet. I put out a request for proposal, screened out the "handymen" that responded, and had a few in home visits. Miami Security Systems had a salesman come out to my house in a van in professional livery and he went over different options and we talked about expectations. A few days later he got back to me with their statement of work. MSS's proposal was not the cheapest I received, but was not too far off. However, the statement of work was very detailed and contained information on each cable run and it's associated cost. After I signed, two installers came to my house to perform the work. They were on time, courteous and were able to work very well without any micromanaging. Being a nine camera install with cable runs to all the different corners of a 3600 sq foot house it took these two installers two and a half days to complete the job. They worked very hard during the day with short breaks and very few interruptions to me (I was working from home). Each day they made sure that the locations they worked, even if not fully completed, was cleaned up and habitable before they left for the day. After all cameras were mounted and connected one of them stayed behind with me to ensure that each camera was working correctly and was aimed properly to cover the locations I wanted. I was also able to rely on their expertise in the placement and aiming of the cameras to make sure the cameras were being utilized as effectively as possible. I was very impressed with MSS and would definitely recommend them to anyone who wanted properly professionally installed wiring. They exceeded my expectations in installing the wiring far better than I ever could. They were also very eager to please and wanted to make sure I was fully satisfied with the job (I am). read more

Only wish I had seen these reviews before I contacted Miami Security Systems (MSS) and put down a deposit for a new security system. They simply could not get the new system to work with the existing cameras, but in order to reach this conclusion twelve (12) hours of my time went down the drain. In recognition of their own inability/incompetence to install the new system promised me a full refund but never took any action to that effect until I called the credit card company. This not to mention the fact that their "technician" admitted to not being a licensed professional because he doesn't speak enough English to take the licensing exam. I do not recommend this company to anyone!!! They have horrible and disrespectful customer service from their receptionist part owner Rita. They also charged for a job that was never completed and did not want to follow through properly with a refund leaving unfinished work and holes on my walls. Unfortunately I will have to submit a complain to the better business bureau and request a refund from my credit card company since they do not want to refund my money back. After reading some reviews apparently they are known for poor customer service and quality service. They failed to attend to appointments and never called the customer to advise when would they reschedule. I had to constantly be behind them and they would not answer their phones and after getting a hold of them they would rudely disrespect and hang the phone up on me.
