I would not consider myself a big "art" person, but I really enjoyed some of the exhibits, as well as the fun Chromosaturation room. Afterwards, we were able to check out the Resilient Lady ship as she was leaving port of miami, which was nice and relaxing. Overall, I enjoyed the visit and would definitely recommend checking it out, especially on one of the free admission days.

You could see the water damage on the roof and walls, probably caused by one of the many Summer storms, because of that the tickets were at a discount that day but we were still able to appreciate the beauty of Viscaya. There are two cafe's. One in the garden of the main house, and another across the street where farm animals use to be kept. Surprisingly, the food and drinks are reasonably priced. The day we were there, a wedding was going to take place and there was a lot of commotion going on. Fancy tables being set up, fine china, crystal glasses, the whole works. We asked a security guard how much it costs to have a wedding reception there and he said: "Just to rent the space, no tables, no nothing, starting price is 100k". So if you have 100k lying around, and plan to get married soon, this could be an option for you. Jokes aside though; I'd definitely visit again.

The property and history is pretty amazing. As many other reviews have mentioned, a good portion of the rooms and structures are closed for renovations. They have reduced the entry to $20 from $25 but it still was a little disappointing that the casino building and several rooms in the house were closed. Being that it was the offseason, some of the gardens did seem to be past their peak. We hope to return when everything is open in season and tour the whole facility.

They luckily hold onto the bags while we explore the museum and this worked perfectly for us. In addition to the 4-5 floors and two buildings worth of area to explore, there are amazing view of Miami from most of the floors. Kids thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Florida gators and other reptiles. The aquarium has shark and a huge turtle in addition to several other varieties of sea life. Kids spent several hours in the flight museum and the interactive universe simulator model as well. We also caught one of the shows in the planetarium, make sure to reserve a spot during a time slot of your choice well before hand. Perfect stop if you have a few hours in Miami.

The other exhibits included one about flight, the human body/mind, an aquarium, dinosaurs, and general Florida wildlife. I can't say I learned a terrible amount of new information but it was fine. The World Erotic Art Museum (WEAM) presented Mark Kostabi: Revisited, a striking exhibition of 14 new, large-scale, faceless paintings created for the museum. While living & working in Rome, he explored themes of eroticism, technology & the paradoxes of digital intimacy. Highlighted were sexting amid digital distraction, and a surreal portrayal of 3 nude women taking a group selfie; juxtaposing joy, sensuality & technology. Gorge Daniell presented gay themes through photographs & paintings of glamorous celebrities, and scenes of everyday life in pre-and-post-war America. There was something so special about being able to completely immerse myself in something so colorful, playful, and carefree. Every exhibit was so fun, so interesting, and so unique, and each one brought me so much joy. I truly cannot explain what a great time I had here. Two of my absolute favorite exhibits were the butterfly made with nearly 39,000 LEDs, which was previously featured at Burning Man in 2023, and the giant ball pit at the very end. The butterfly was honestly magical. My best friend and I sat underneath it for probably 20 minutes just taking it all in. It was so peaceful and relaxing that we genuinely could have fallen asleep underneath it. It was one of those moments where you just completely forget about everything else and feel totally present. It was relaxing, joyful, and honestly just beautiful. And then ending the entire experience by jumping into a GINORMOUS ball pit?! It was the perfect way to finish. It was so playful and freeing, and I felt like a little kid again. There was something almost enlightening about being able to just let go and have fun without thinking about anything else. I honestly wish this was a permanent display in Miami because I feel like SO many people need something like this. We spend so much of our lives being responsible adults, working, running errands, paying bills, and constantly feeling like we have to be serious. Sometimes you just need to let loose, play, and experience that childlike happiness again. This place reminded me that we're not meant to just work all the time. Sometimes you need to give your soul a little break and allow yourself to feel that pure, uncomplicated joy again. I would absolutely go back. I genuinely wish everyone could experience this, especially anyone who feels like they've gotten a little too caught up in being an adult. Go let yourself be a kid again for a few hours. You'll leave feeling happier, lighter, and maybe even a little more connected to that part of yourself you forgot was still there.

The Balloon Museum is a pop up museum at the Mana Convention Center in Wynwood!…read more We booked our tickets far in advance to try and get the early bird discount but the process to redeem the discount was super confusing and my cousin ended up buying all of our tickets at full price. Definitely pay attention to the different types of tickets and try to see if you can get a discount. I ended up getting my boyfriend's ticket the day of and there was a FL resident ticket that ended up being cheaper than even what we paid for months ago. As for the museum itself. It's easy to find since its at the convention center. There is parking on-site right in front of the museum but it's $30 all day parking, which is pretty steep. We ended up parking at the street metered parking and paid half the price for an hourly price. Try to do street parking since it's a lot cheaper. It wasn't too hard to find either which was surprising since we came at 3pm on Saturday. Entering was super easy and the museum was a lot bigger than I was expecting. There were a ton of rooms and many photo-worthy moments! We came with my group of cousins and my cousins' two-year-old. It was a great time and I think it was one of the most extensive and immersive museums I've been to in a while! They're here until September 27 so definitely check it out if you have time to!
