The Louisburg Location is amazing! Aaron was so helpful and knowledgeable! I called and he told me to bring it by within 10 minutes i was there and my car was already on the lift! He finished a big job in less than a hour and was very thorough. I was very impressed by the efficacy of his work, he worked much faster than any other shop i have ever been to! My experience feels like a bad dream but only it isn't. I was able to purchase a 2004 Mercedes Benz Kompressor at a very good price. It had (still has) a hesitation issue when you pushed the gas pedal and the brakes felt like that had to be pushed extra hard. Other then that the car was in great shape. I knew I would have to put a couple of thousand into getting it to run right but I was ok with that. On June 30th I started looking for a shop to do the work. I went to three shops in Paola and they ALL basically said the same thing "those Mercedes require you to be trained by a Mercedes Benz certified tech. I thanked all three owners for their honest and moved on. Shop number 4 was Miami Auto. I explained my situation to the two guys behind the counter and they said yes they could fix but they would have to charge me $115.dollar rather then the $85.dollar per hour labor charge due to the training and special tools needed to work on a Mercedes. Then he told me that next week was a short week because of the 4th so the earliest he could get me in was July 11th. We agreed on the 11th and I asked them if my car would be safe because I would be dropping it off early and the car doesn't lock. They said it would be fine and gave me a business card of a guy that fixes locks. I took the card and replied 'no need to have the locks fixed until I get that hesitation problem fixed. I dropped the car off early with these exact instructions. 1st address the hesitation issue, after that the brakes then the turn signals. Also I added That I have a brand new air filter on the front passenger seat with an unopened bottle of D.O.T brake fluid. (These were the only two items in the car, There was nothing but these two things) I do not hear from them so I call on July 12th they said they haven't gotten it in yet. Understandable, although I did make an appointment on June 30th(12 days prior) I do not hear from anyone so I call on Friday the 15th. and I am told the mechanic has it in and is working on it. I do not hear from any one so I call on Thursday the 21st. I am told the mechanic is working on it when we are slow but he is working on it. The next week the same thing. But I stopped in the shop to check on the progress and the guy behind the counter says let me check. He doesn't get up and go and check he says I'll text him. Text him I thought? 5 mins., ten mins. go by and he says he's not texting me back but when he does I'll call you. No call ever comes. Early August I get a call from them and they say my car had 10 error codes pop up when they put it on the computer. They said it is going to need a tune up for sure and an oil change. I said he if this needs to be done to get the car running right then let's do it but I do not want to put money into areas that do not need to be done at this time just in case we find out the motor needs replacing. That makes sense right. You would not frame a house, paint it move all of your stuff in and then put a roof on it would you? Motor, brakes, turn signals in that order. Another week goes by no one calls me so I stop in. I see the mechanic working on my car, outside in the same spot it has been parked for three weeks. I introduce myself as the owner of the car and ask him if he is having a problem finding the problem? From my little bit of research this is a pretty common problem with Mercedes. His answer to that was this "do you know how many Mercedes we get in here a year? I said no he says "one maybe two at the most but closer to one" I simply said oh. Another week no call from them. I call on a Thurs. (I have my phone records to verify all of this)I'm told they are doing some smoke intake thing. I'll skip to the part to when I pick the car up. On Friday Sept. 9th I stop in to pay for the car but I'm not picking it up until later because I drove there in my truck. I get handed a bill of $2150. dollars and I said to them that's a lot of money but at least I know the car will be safe to drive and I will be ok if my wife needs to drive it. The mechanic that worked on it brought the key into the office. I tipped him $30 dollars and thanked him for fixing it and said at least I know it is safe. He said to me "I would take it to the dealer before I considered driving it" That did not sink in until later when I picked the car up. Miami Auto Repair had my car 71 days from the date I made the appointment. And physically had it for 60 days. In that time they called me 5 times all of the other times I had to reach out to them or I had to stop in to find anything out. The car is worse now then before I dropped it off. Plus now the check engine light is on which it wasn't before. The hesitation the same. They charged me $246. dollars to replace the valve cover gasket. Did it need to be replaced probably BUT NOT UNTIL THE HESITATION PROBLEM WAS FIXED. It may have a bad cylinder in that case I would scrape it. 6 plus hours in labor for the mechanic to research the problem. I thought that's why I wa read more
