Everything we had was wonderful. The guacamole and the salsa had a lot of flavor, especially cilantro, which I love! My fajita was huge. I thought maybe they didn't realized I ordered the lunch fajita and brought me a full dinner portion, but, no, it was the lunch portion. My wife enjoyed her taco salad too. The service was very good also. Several staff members stopped to check on us during our visit. Definitely will be coming back here when we are wanting to get our Mexican food fix!

Bargain margaritas at $1.99 will bring a loyal crowd and the nice ambience and quiet atmosphere are a welcome change from other similar restaurants offering Mexican. The food was very good and presentation and service were also great again. Complimentary chips were very good. The salsa was much better than last visit and the beans were tasty- served whole vs. refried and mashed you find at most other Mexican in town. The last visit I tried the Birrias tacos which were really tasty- a Mexican roast beef slow cooked in a chili based sauce with a deep rich flavor that really went well with the rice and pinto beans also served with it. My companion had the Beef Nachos Supreme which were also very good. Enjoyed this first experience and looking forward to trying again. Their lunch menu looks very competitive in price while most of their dinner menu looks a little on the premium side compared to other Mexican restaurants in town. Server never asked what was wrong or can I take it off your check. Our 40 minute drive home was very painful with my tummy gurgling. I was planning to ride horses this afternoon but nope! The main focus of this new venture are the tortillas. Sold by the pound and warm you can understand why these are the daily bread of the Mexican diet and I expect will be in great demand. A daily entree is also available for takeout and the day I visited it was Mole with chicken. A deep rich chile based red sauce with slow roasted chicken was very well done and flavorful. Mi Toro is hugely popular with locals as you will see by the cars in the parking lot on an average night. On Tuesday and Thursday nights, they feature what I think are the best Margaritas in town at half price. Their small Margarita now at $3.99 is still a bargain and a perfect accompaniment to the food. Avoid larger sizes, multiples or pitchers unless you are sharing as a group or a designated driver. The top shelf fajitas feature skirt steak and the generous quantity make a good entree to share with two people. Quite unexpected on a Mexican menu and somewhat unusual, the hamburgers are very good and the fries are delicious. The restaurant has been remodeled and is upscale in its surroundings.
