One of my faves in BS. Leslie, the owner, is very warm and friendly, as are the rest of the staff. My husband always orders the same thing (camarones al mojo de ski) but I like to mix it up. Chili Rellenos are wonderful, thank goodness, cuz what a pain they are to make! You can get tacos either soft or crispy, with your choice of fillings. I love their salsa, so fresh and just spicy enough. Nachos grande are a treat I allow myself now and then....Service has always been great for us, I don't know what those other reviewers were talking about! Late lunch early dinner served piping hot. Beats the chain restaurant Chuy's hands down. Keep it simple and do it well. I had chicken grilled served w/a warm salad along a cold one, beans and rice, and sour cream (tortillas). My husband had small plate (chalupa). Portion sizes are generous even for the small plates. I frequent Mi Ranchito regularly and not quite sure what the change has been but it isn't good. Food is still good, but service is crap. Where did the 2 Male waiters go? Stopped in for lunch. Wife got chicken fajitas, I got the steak fajitas. $7.95 each for the luncheon menu, which I thought was great! The meal was sizzling when presented. They did put the toppings on the hot skillet, so the cheese was melting, and the sour cream heated up. The rice was less than average, and the refried beans were OK. Total with tax and tip (water to drink) for two was $20 for lunch. You can spend more for seafood dishes and other house specialties. They have the usual burritos, chimichangas, chili rellenos, tacos, enchiladas, etc. The salza was made fresh (freshly cut onions, at least) but it was mild heat and a bit watery. Surprisingly, they didn't have hot sauce on the table, but I suppose they have it on request. The place is small and seating is in close quarters. Overall, A-OK. read more

I like the new location much better than the older one which adds to the experience. This is our go to Mexican restaurant in Berkeley Springs. Wait....it's the only Mexican restaurant in Berkeley Springs! But that's okay, their food is still pretty solid. The chips and salsa are pretty good as are their cheese enchiladas. Went here back in April based on the great reviews, was sorely disappointed. Maybe we caught them on a bad day... Waitress was busy eating her lunch and playing on her phone, which wasn't a huge deal but made our lunch pretty long and slow. My tacos were ok, nothing special and not particularly flavorful but my husbands chicken and rice was almost inedible- really just bad. The food is flavorless, and it's not clean. All of our dishes were brought at different times so one person in our party was almost finished before the other dishes arrived. Inconsistent. 4weeks ago the shrimp burrito was good but two days ago it was terrible. All rice with a few cut up shrimp parts. No beans, peppers, or onions. Salsa was all liquid, no tomatoes, peppers etc. we have a house nearby but will not return. read more

Not worth your time with the many other good restaurants in Berkeley Springs. All of the ingredients are evidently bought from the store put on the grill for a few minutes and served... no flavor, no effort. The chips and tortilla are store bought... could probably have made better at home. The only saving part of this place is the staff... they all were very friendly and made sure my husband got get corn tortillas as he is allergic to gluten and were very attentive to our table. read more

We were looking for a quick dinner in Berkeley Springs, saw all of the good reviews & even had a recommendation to go here from our host. But I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The chips tasted like nothing, the salsa was super runny & didn't taste homemade. I wish we would've left at that point but we didn't. I ordered the enchiladas and my husband ordered pollo a la cream. His meal was better than mine but that's not saying much. There was nothing specifically wrong, but definitely not a meal I would ever want to eat again. Not much flavor, textures were off & definitely one of the 2 worst Mexican meals I've had. We ordered fajitas (for 2) to go, and the portion size was much larger than we were expecting. We could have fed our family of 4 on this one order with additional tortillas! :) I wasn't a fan of the tamales, or their salsa. This home style restaurant is freaking awesome!!! Located in a small town you would wonder but they do not disappoint. I would say the food is more Spanish than Mexican but the novice foodie wouldn't know. They have the best Tamales I have ever had and after visiting countless times I have sampled much of their menu and have never been disappointed. Service can be kinda slow when they are busy but it is more than worth the wait - it's family run and everyone there are very pleasant and attentive when they can be . Stopped in for lunch on our way through the area. We were pleased with the delicious fresh chips and salsa while we waited. The lunch specials were just right in price and portion. I've eaten here several times. Every time I've gone the service has left a lot to be desired. If the restaurant is busy you can expect to wait for acknowledgement of your presence as well as a long wait for the food. The last time I ate here I got the special that was made with shrimp. Very nice lunch. My son and I enjoyed burritos, chili Riano, and chicken. Chips and salsa were served, I found the salsa a little bland. But It was ok. Every restaurant can have a bad night, and considering the other reviews here we probably experienced one of those. However, it really shouldn't take five to ten minutes after you've been seated for someone to show up to take drink orders. That set the tone for the evening. Service was very slow and kind of indifferent; one person took our orders, another brought the food, one gave us the check before I got the chance to order another beer. The food was OK--nothing special. Three stars for the food; one star for the service. We're not going back; there are better places to eat in Berkeley Springs. read more
