Stephen greeted me with a warm smile. I was looking for Togo burrito. I'm a vegetarian and he was very accepting of me adding and subtracting to the bean and cheese burrito I was ordering. -sour cream + grilled onions and pico!! He offered me chips and water as I waited and let me know it was a "wet" burrito. I stayed and ate it there as I was going to be driving and it would have been a problem for me and others on the road. Service was great, the burrito was very tasty. I'll come back again. read more

Mi Ranchito - Mexican Near Me - Berkeley Springs, West Virginia

Beware, this place looks cute and cozy, but looks can be deceiving. Food was just MEH... Unfortunately, we did not read the other reviews and ordered arroz con pollo (chicken with rice). It was soupy, weird, and a strange reddish brown color. It had tiny chunks of chicken, giant peppers, and just a handful of over cooked soaked rice buried at the bottom of the plate. Do not order this dish!! After we politely sent the dish back, the staff turned cold and refused to serve us any further. Apparently they were insulted and appeared to be unconcerned about providing poor customer service. Staff also were rude and began cleaning and SWEEPING the restaurant, even though it was before closing time and customers were still eating. Very unprofessional and immature! We did not leave a tip and we never do that. Would not recommend this place as there are many good options in the area. read more

The food is good and the staff is friendly, my biggest complaint is the wait. Whether it's waiting for a table or waiting for service, theirs always a wait. However, if you have the time, the food is good. read more

Late lunch early dinner served piping hot. Beats the chain restaurant Chuy's hands down. Keep it simple and do it well. I had chicken grilled served w/a warm salad along a cold one, beans and rice, and sour cream (tortillas). My husband had small plate (chalupa). Portion sizes are generous even for the small plates. A really good, tasty meal. If you like simple tasty food, this is the place. read more

If just for the frozen margaritas go! Food is quite good! Salsa needs work. Seafood burrito was excellent. Friendly staff, nice environment. read more

Stopped in for lunch. Wife got chicken fajitas, I got the steak fajitas. $7.95 each for the luncheon menu, which I thought was great! The meal was sizzling when presented. They did put the toppings on the hot skillet, so the cheese was melting, and the sour cream heated up. The rice was less than average, and the refried beans were OK. Total with tax and tip (water to drink) for two was $20 for lunch. You can spend more for seafood dishes and other house specialties. They have the usual burritos, chimichangas, chili rellenos, tacos, enchiladas, etc. The salza was made fresh (freshly cut onions, at least) but it was mild heat and a bit watery. Surprisingly, they didn't have hot sauce on the table, but I suppose they have it on request. The place is small and seating is in close quarters. Overall, A-OK. read more

I like the new location much better than the older one which adds to the experience. This is our go to Mexican restaurant in Berkeley Springs. Wait....it's the only Mexican restaurant in Berkeley Springs! But that's okay, their food is still pretty solid. The chips and salsa are pretty good as are their cheese enchiladas. The only thing I would maybe improve on is there margarita. They use the mix that tastes like pixie sticks. Other than that, everything else was good! read more

This is probably the best Mexican food within 20mi of Berkeley Springs, WV. And that is because it is the only Mexican food within 20mi of Berkeley Springs. It's fine. It's that sort of 'dumbed down' Mexican entrepreneurial Mexican-Americans have been serving up at 11.99$ for a combo plate the last quarter century. Prices are reasonable, servings are generous, service is fast and polite. Unfortunately, the food is pretty bland and uninspired. read more

Food was very good but check your take out order before you leave. One of the items we ordered and were charged for was not included. I would recommend this place for dine in but would be hesitant to order take out again. read more

Went here back in April based on the great reviews, was sorely disappointed. Maybe we caught them on a bad day... Waitress was busy eating her lunch and playing on her phone, which wasn't a huge deal but made our lunch pretty long and slow. My tacos were ok, nothing special and not particularly flavorful but my husbands chicken and rice was almost inedible- really just bad. I also paid extra for guacamole and sour cream and the portion was tiny! Couldn't recommend. read more

I frequent Mi Ranchito regularly and not quite sure what the change has been but it isn't good. Food is still good, but service is crap. Where did the 2 Male waiters go? They had there stuff together! Dont stop here if you are in a hurry on a Monday. Maybe the guys are here on the other days of the week idk, but something's gotta give. The young lady tha is waiting tables is slower than molasses on a cold winter day. read more

The food is flavorless, and it's not clean. All of our dishes were brought at different times so one person in our party was almost finished before the other dishes arrived. The waiter didn't even acknowledge the timing issue as if that was to be expected. Basically, dirty atmosphere, poor service, and flavorless, brown entrees. read more

Inconsistent. 4weeks ago the shrimp burrito was good but two days ago it was terrible. All rice with a few cut up shrimp parts. No beans, peppers, or onions. Salsa was all liquid, no tomatoes, peppers etc. we have a house nearby but will not return. read more

A fabulous place if you've never had Mexican food before and would prefer the chef hasn't either.

Not worth your time with the many other good restaurants in Berkeley Springs. All of the ingredients are evidently bought from the store put on the grill for a few minutes and served... no flavor, no effort. The chips and tortilla are store bought... could probably have made better at home. The only saving part of this place is the staff... they all were very friendly and made sure my husband got get corn tortillas as he is allergic to gluten and were very attentive to our table. read more

If you know what real Spanish food is and you are use to the real deal skip this place.

We were looking for a quick dinner in Berkeley Springs, saw all of the good reviews & even had a recommendation to go here from our host. But I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The chips tasted like nothing, the salsa was super runny & didn't taste homemade. I wish we would've left at that point but we didn't. I ordered the enchiladas and my husband ordered pollo a la cream. His meal was better than mine but that's not saying much. There was nothing specifically wrong, but definitely not a meal I would ever want to eat again. Not much flavor, textures were off & definitely one of the 2 worst Mexican meals I've had. I have to say, the place was packed though so maybe it was just an off meal. Couldn't recommend! read more

Ridiculously cheap for what seems like really nice hand made food. Got so much food that I almost threw up + a huge margarita for like $15. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that likes Mexican food and not spending money. read more

This home style restaurant is freaking awesome!!! Located in a small town you would wonder but they do not disappoint. I would say the food is more Spanish than Mexican but the novice foodie wouldn't know. They have the best Tamales I have ever had and after visiting countless times I have sampled much of their menu and have never been disappointed. Service can be kinda slow when they are busy but it is more than worth the wait - it's family run and everyone there are very pleasant and attentive when they can be . Myself and my family will always frequent this awesome dining destination for a great meal!! read more

We ordered fajitas (for 2) to go, and the portion size was much larger than we were expecting. We could have fed our family of 4 on this one order with additional tortillas! :) I wasn't a fan of the tamales, or their salsa. The salsa is very loose which is fine, but it had large chunks of onion throughout. I love onion but didn't love that! read more

This is the worst service ive had. The food was not good at all. Only thing good was water and the seats were kinda comfy. Also at the end no one asked how our food was. Will not be returning. read more

I've eaten here several times. Every time I've gone the service has left a lot to be desired. If the restaurant is busy you can expect to wait for acknowledgement of your presence as well as a long wait for the food. The last time I ate here I got the special that was made with shrimp. I got sick that night and was sick for two days thereafter. I'll never go back. read more

Stopped in for lunch on our way through the area. We were pleased with the delicious fresh chips and salsa while we waited. The lunch specials were just right in price and portion. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean and orderly. Service was very friendly. Street parking only, with meters, but 25c gets you 45 mins. read more

Awesome food, make sure if you are in Berkeley Springs to stop in. You will not regret it. Great service too!

Had a great dinner of chicken enchiladas and chille rellenos and bonus there is a non mex kids menu! Happiness for all. A day later I'm still thinking about the refried beans and salsa verde...mmmm read more

Never disappointed here, the guacamole, chimichangas, and quesadillas are great, I get them regularly and have yet to be disappointed. The staff is so friendly and the prices are good. read more

Great salsa. Cozy restaurant. I order the fajita. Portion size was enough for leftovers.

Food reminds me of when I lived in Central/South America. Portions exceptional, flavor balanced and staff helpful and friendly.

Went last night for dinner. The food was good and the overall dining experience was good too. I had the small combo platter with two beef encheladas. It was enough food for me and under $10.00 bucks. It would not have been enough food for my boyfriend. He was content with the regular sized platter. The $4.00 margarita was plenty for me and very good. read more

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday and the food was good, but a little over priced for lunch time. I'm a big Chile Relleno person and I can honestly say I've had better, but the rest of the meal was good. read more

First time eating there and wont be the last. Service was fantastic. Food was delicious. Prices are great as well. When we got our food we were not bothered and that was great. If we needed something the waiter was around. This place has great food, Very clean. read more

Worst service and worst food I've had in a long time. Waited 45 minutes for flavorless slop and stale chips. Go elsewhere.

Friendly staff, festive decor, and pretty good food. Be sure to ask for the spicy salsa that they make in house, it adds a nice kick to any meal! read more

Very nice lunch. My son and I enjoyed burritos, chili Riano, and chicken. Chips and salsa were served, I found the salsa a little bland. But It was ok. Waiter was very attentive and all the tables in our section were occupied. My son also gave the rice and re fried beans 2 thumbs up! We will defiantly be back. read more

Love love love this place. Great food, great service and fresh homemade salsa and chips with any order. Love the homemade hot sauce too. Highly reccomend this place. read more

We like this place whenever we are in town! My kids enjoy it, friendly servers, good margaritas :-)

This was our first visit. They were somewhat busy but no lines. We still waited for a table. Not a big deal. The young man sat us and gave us menus. Nothing. Zip. Nada. No one came to offer us drinks. No one ever came to wait on us. 2 tables near us both were waited on. Not even a glance. We left after 30 minutes. Maybe the food is good. I have no clue. read more

Our go to restaurant in Berkeley Springs. Always great food and service at reasonable prices. Best chicken fajitas anywhere. Good margaritas too! read more

Every restaurant can have a bad night, and considering the other reviews here we probably experienced one of those. However, it really shouldn't take five to ten minutes after you've been seated for someone to show up to take drink orders. That set the tone for the evening. Service was very slow and kind of indifferent; one person took our orders, another brought the food, one gave us the check before I got the chance to order another beer. The food was OK--nothing special. Three stars for the food; one star for the service. We're not going back; there are better places to eat in Berkeley Springs. read more
