As always I am commenting on the food only. My experience with a waiter is not yours so a rating based on that would be worthless. I will comment but the rating has nothing based on the bathrooms or tables or cleanliness of the place. That being said; the men's rooms needs some patch work. It is a phone booth or a coat closet in size and a putty and paint job would help. The furniture needs some TLC. It looks like they took the furniture from Chi-Chi's after closing. The bench I sat on mostly comfortable but I am seeing tears and discoloration and other imperfections in many booths. The waitress was nice, friendly, and very attentive. A beautiful smile was always worn. Something that I wish they would enforce everywhere to improve the game. Drinks and chips came out fast and the food soon after. As for the drinks, I ordered bottled, but my wife got a margarita and said it was potent, but very good as a margarita should be. She could only drink the one. The chips were over cooked. So sad to see this. I should have sent them back. The Cazuela was fresh. I could still taste the vine the tomato came from. This burrito had mushrooms, I love mushrooms but my wife says the mushrooms are overpowering, so be aware. I loved this and would suggest it to anyone who likes mushrooms!!! (Yes three exclamation points, I'm driving home the point!) My wife had a double portion of fajitas, why, IDK, ask her! She is all of a buck and a quarter but said she was hungry. AND when it came out, OMG it was loud! Sizzling and chirping, and clucking and full of chicken! Normally the places we go it is full of veggies with some chicken, here it is the opposite? Why IDK! Ask them! My wife said everything was delicious. Again note, I rate on the food and this is a 4.5 so a 4 according to yelp. The chips were the downfall.

Came here with some family while I was visiting. Not sure what some of these other reviews are talking about because my experience was very good. The service was very friendly, the food was tasty and the experience was authentic. Definitely a recommend from me!

It is the second time we come here for dinner ( we drove from DC for a short stay at Cacapon State Park). It is truly a hidden gem run by a hard working family. Very cheap for the quality of food they serve. Truly a home cooked Mexican dishes. I am surprised to see two and three stars reviews and complaints about the service. You come into the door with an attitude, you will get an attitude. You come in with a smile and polite greeting, you get a smile and superb service. And don't forget a shot of tequila with your meal (though Margaritas are huge and very good). Will come again for sure

A fabulous place if you've never had Mexican food before and would prefer the chef hasn't either.

Worst service and worst food I've had in a long time. Waited 45 minutes for flavorless slop and stale chips. Go elsewhere.

The waitress came over quickly, but since this was our first time, it took us a bit to figure out what we wanted...my wife ordered a carnitas burrito that was pulled pork and onions with cheese sauce draped over it and it came with rice as well. Let me tell you...EVERY BITE OF THAT PORK WAS AMAZING! I ordered a #3 lunch special that had a chix burrito and a chix taco with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and sour cream. It was also delicious, but I was and am still jealous of my wife's decision! The restaurant was clean and all the staff was in great spirits! Please don't miss out on this gem!!! Also, it was $27 for the two of us to eat which is u heard of these days!

Our server was a very nice young man, but he did not come back to check on us and I had to go find him as things we had ordered did not come. For example, I had paid extra to include guacamole, and he did not notice that it wasn't included when he brought me my food. And my husband had ordered the chicken fajitas and they had forgot to include the tortillas. Not sure if we'll go back again. Like I said, the food was good but not great.

Taqueria Guadalajara has a bit of a tucked away location just on the outskirts of Winchester,…read morewhich gives it that standalone, local spot feel. While having its own building is a plus, parking can quickly become a headache during busy hours, so timing your visit makes a difference. Walking in, there wasn't a host present, which made the entrance feel a little unorganized at first. However, a server quickly stepped in and pointed us in the right direction. From there, the experience improved the service was genuinely friendly and attentive, which helped set a positive tone for the meal. The burrito was the highlight. It came out well prepared with solid flavor throughout, even though it didn't include any sides. Normally, that might feel like something is missing, but the taste was good enough to carry the dish on its own. Pricing leans a bit on the higher side, which is something to keep in mind, especially given the lack of extras. Overall, Taqueria Guadalajara delivers where it matters most good flavor and friendly service even if it has a few logistical hiccups like parking and the initial lack of greeting. It's the kind of place that leaves you debating between a 4 and a 5, but the quality of the food ultimately pushes it into 5-star territory

Our server barely understood English, and even simple questions turned into a whole situation. I asked FOUR separate times whether the spicy salsa was free. I literally said, "If it's free, I'll take it. If not, never mind." The server kept saying yes, it was free... so we ate it. Then the check comes out with a $3.99 charge for the salsa When I asked why it was charged after being told multiple times it was free, the server still kept saying "free" while staring at the receipt. At that point I had to ask for the manager because we were clearly not communicating. The manager said there was a "language barrier issue," BUT because we already ate it, we still had to pay for it. That part honestly blew my mind. If I asked about the price four times before ordering, clearly the whole point was that I didn't want it if it cost extra What made it worse was the attitude. The server never apologized once and the manager acted super confident like this was somehow normal. And honestly... the food wasn't even worth the drama. Everything was ridiculously salty, and the salsa tasted like someone mixed it with water. Cool interior. Terrible experience. Definitely not coming back.
