I was not impressed with the food at all. To start off, the price does not match the quality. We ordered tacos, and tostadas, and got a side of chips and salsa/queso. The tacos were so soggy they literally fell apart. The tostadas were actually just 1 singular tostado, also soggy, so it crumbled to pieces. The queso and salsa were so small. The salsa wasn't even good, it was so watery you couldn't even scoop anything onto the chips. Everything was just bland and soggy. Definitely a rip off. read more

Nothing really of note for our meal at Mi Ranchito. It wasn't bad and it wasn't great either. I ordered one of their lunch combos to share with my little one and we both enjoyed the taco and enchiladas. The sauce on the enchilada didn't have much flavor but adding some queso helped! As always I am commenting on the food only. My experience with a waiter is not yours so a rating based on that would be worthless. I will comment but the rating has nothing based on the bathrooms or tables or cleanliness of the place. That being said; the men's rooms needs some patch work. It is a phone booth or a coat closet in size and a putty and paint job would help. The furniture needs some TLC. It looks like they took the furniture from Chi-Chi's after closing. The bench I sat on mostly comfortable but I am seeing tears and discoloration and other imperfections in many booths. The waitress was nice, friendly, and very attentive. A beautiful smile was always worn. Something that I wish they would enforce everywhere to improve the game. Drinks and chips came out fast and the food soon after. As for the drinks, I ordered bottled, but my wife got a margarita and said it was potent, but very good as a margarita should be. She could only drink the one. The chips were over cooked. So sad to see this. I should have sent them back. The Cazuela was fresh. I could still taste the vine the tomato came from. This burrito had mushrooms, I love mushrooms but my wife says the mushrooms are overpowering, so be aware. I loved this and would suggest it to anyone who likes mushrooms!!! (Yes three exclamation points, I'm driving home the point!) My wife had a double portion of fajitas, why, IDK, ask her! She is all of a buck and a quarter but said she was hungry. AND when it came out, OMG it was loud! Sizzling and chirping, and clucking and full of chicken! Normally the places we go it is full of veggies with some chicken, here it is the opposite? Why IDK! Ask them! My wife said everything was delicious. Again note, I rate on the food and this is a 4.5 so a 4 according to yelp. The chips were the downfall. read more

It is the second time we come here for dinner ( we drove from DC for a short stay at Cacapon State Park). It is truly a hidden gem run by a hard working family. Very cheap for the quality of food they serve. Truly a home cooked Mexican dishes. I am surprised to see two and three stars reviews and complaints about the service. You come into the door with an attitude, you will get an attitude. You come in with a smile and polite greeting, you get a smile and superb service. My son and I went here after a local suggested it and huge mistake. We started with guacamole and chips. The guacamole was good but the chips weren't. Then my son ordered the beef tacos and I got a chicken enchilada and a chicken tostada. My son loves tacos and he took one bite and couldn't eat any more. I tried a bite and it tasted like soap. For mine the enchilada was dry chicken in a dried out tortilla and no flavor. The tostada didn't actually have a tostada. It was a pile if the same dried out chicken with tomatoes and lettuce. The rice on the plate was dried out and looked like it was cooked days ago. The rest of the drive home I felt like I ate a brick even though I barely ate any thing on my plate and I woke up in the middle of the night with horrible cramps. read more

We stopped at Mi Ranchito early on a Sunday night. There were open tables but we were forced to wait for one to open. After a 10 minute wait (again, with open tables), we were seated. Our orders were placed fairly quickly and then the waiting began. I didn't time it but I'm sure it was between the 45 mins- 1 hour range. Around the 30 minute mark we asked for chips and salsa to give the kids something to eat while continuing to wait. Both were amazing but we were surprised they charged us for them- $3 or $4. You would think when making people wait almost an hour for food, a free container of chips and a super TINY cup of salsa is the least they could do. When the food finally arrived it was plentiful and delicious. Of course, since we waited so long we were ravenous to tear into it. Everything was amazing and a great deal for the price paid. We all left stuffed to the gills. If they could improve the wait times and/or provide chips when they know things are slow in the kitchen, I think the dining experience here would be much improved. read more

First off the food - it's good but nothing special. Pretty much your average mexican food. The one issue I had was that they charge you for chips and salsa $3.50. That comes with one refill. The salsa wasn't very good to me but the kids liked it. Usually no one charges you for chips and salsa. I also ordered the cheese dip which was very watered down......good, but very runny. When we ran out of chips I asked for more to finish the dip. They said the cheese dip doesn't come with chips. I said whaaattt! The waitress said it doesn't make sense to her but it doesn't. Crazy! Also, if you get the wrong waitress like we did ( the older nasty Latino women) your experience will be a whole lot worse. She was bad...... and never came back to see if we needed refills or how the food was. A younger girl there ended up taking care of us at the end of our meal. She was very nice. There's not much in options to eat in Berkeley Springs for my family so we might be back again. Just have to avoid the one nasty waitress and know the chip & salsa policy. read more

I came to visit Berkeley Springs for a soak in the hot springs roman bath. That was delightful but when I was done I was starving and searching for a bite to eat. There are not many food options in Berkeley Springs, however I was in luck because there is Mi Ranchito! A cute little Mexican spot right downtown. I was shocked at how small the dining room was at first, the building looked much larger from the outside. My server was nice, fast and friendly. I am deeply appreciative of good customer service. Who ever was working on Presidents Day at lunchtime...thanks! :) I ordered the beef taco salad and a miller light. They were out of miller light so I changed my order to white wine not looking at the price. Seriously....$2.75 for a glass of wine. I was BLOWN AWAY! So affordable! Anyways, my taco salad was okay, just a little bland. I like my Mexican food more spicy. I will definitively come back next time I come to Berkeley Springs. read more

I'm a vegetarian and he was very accepting of me adding and subtracting to the bean and cheese burrito I was ordering. -sour cream + grilled onions and pico!! He offered me chips and water as I waited and let me know it was a "wet" burrito. Beware, this place looks cute and cozy, but looks can be deceiving. Food was just MEH... Unfortunately, we did not read the other reviews and ordered arroz con pollo (chicken with rice). It was soupy, weird, and a strange reddish brown color. It had tiny chunks of chicken, giant peppers, and just a handful of over cooked soaked rice buried at the bottom of the plate. Do not order this dish!! After we politely sent the dish back, the staff turned cold and refused to serve us any further. Apparently they were insulted and appeared to be unconcerned about providing poor customer service. Staff also were rude and began cleaning and SWEEPING the restaurant, even though it was before closing time and customers were still eating. Very unprofessional and immature! We did not leave a tip and we never do that. Would not recommend this place as there are many good options in the area. read more
