They said we could either leave the stroller on the porch or sit outside, so we chose to sit outside. It was a nice day anyways and they have umbrellas over the tables for shade. Check for yourself, a quick search on Gemini or Grok yields the same response "No, it is generally not legal for a NJ restaurant to charge a 3% fee on a debit card transaction, even if they label it as a "credit card" fee." When I questioned the manager about this, I was met with excuses rather than a resolution. Point is that management can help prevent this by adding the debit card fee everywhere the rule is posted. It is clear this practice is about padding the restaurant's bottom line rather than covering costs. While our server was wonderful and not at fault, the management's lack of transparency is unacceptable. I like Callaway's but don't like their management who take no responsibility in rectifying this simple problem.
