By the end I couldn't even eat them with my hands because they were so overloaded with meat. Truly worth the price. The only thing I can pick on was that the beef was slightly overcooked, so the texture was kinda dry. We placed our order by scanning the QR code, and it took about 10 to 12 minutes to get our food, which was a pretty decent waiting time. My vegetarian partner had the burrito, and it was HUGE.

But this place was not good. I ordered 1 veggie taco and 1 veggie tamale. My partner ordered a chicken burrito. We also got a side order of chips & churros. The veggies in the taco were super soggy and bland. The corn tortillas were soggy, floppy, and seemed hardly cooked. The pico de gallo did not have good flavor. The tamale was wrapped in a banana leaf, and the tamale itself was also soggy and bland. It had a weird "vegetable soup" taste and was frankly inedible. My partner said the burrito was fine but not something he enjoyed or would crave. The churros were dry, stale, and also inedible. The chips were fine, but we only liked 1 of the 4 salsas we tried. Service was friendly, but we paid almost $40 for mostly inedible food.

It seems like there is only one person running the whole truck so patience is key! The menu is quite extensive for all small the operation is but that was a nice surprise. There was only one other person waiting for their food when I got there so I did not have to wait long. The owner / operator of the truck was very friendly! I ended up ordering drunken noodles, a Thai iced tea, and fried shrimp! The Thai iced tea was pre-made and a lot sweeter than I usually like so I would not get it again. The fried shrimp appetizer was so good and came with a lime slice that made the whole thing so bright and light! The drunken noodles had the perfect flavor and I got it with chicken which had enough seasoning and such a nice char. It is very much a hidden gem and a perfect place to stop for a nice, fast, and warm meal.

If you keep driving on any street going north from Seattle, you will find a taco truck adjacent to a gas station. And they're usually solid - much better than many Mexican restaurants across Seattle. But unfortunately, my burrito here was just a little weak. It has a decent tortilla, and the char on the asada gives it a nice crunch. But other than that, it tasted taco-bell-esque. I think it's just the blend of shredded lettuce and sour cream that gives me that feeling. There just wasn't anything that stood out on this burrito that would make me get it again. However, their tortas look good. I should have gone that direction. I'll give em a try if I ever find myself in the area and the other spots aren't open.

The quesabirria tacos were the best item I ordered and came with chopped white onions and cilantro. I would definitely try that again. All the enchiladas I ordered were Verde, and they were kind of bland. The meats inside were good, though. I got cabeza, carnitas, and adobada. I had to use salsas from the salsa bar to help with the rest of the enchiladas. Next time I would try the other kinds of enchiladas with different sauce flavors. I didn't like the smoky or spiciest salsas, but the green salsa and mild red salsa taste good enough to drink. I wish I could pack the pickled carrots myself because they're kept in small baggies with only a few inside, and I need a ton of those, especially to make up for not getting free chips.

Today I played another game of "drive up Aurora Ave until you see a Mexican food truck that you've…read morenever been to before". I caught Anita's shimmering food truck in my periphery as I was driving past, and I knew it was time to stop. They have an extensive menu (tortas, burritos, tacos, soups, and more) with what seems to be over 20 meat options. How do they have this many meat options? Where are they preparing all of it? My mom once told me not to ask questions that I don't want the answer to, so I'm just going to leave that here. After sweating out the menu for a bit, I elected for the carnitas burrito (carnitarito) and added avocado inside. Interestingly enough, they don't seem to have guacamole here. Anyone who eats with me knows that I'm not big on avocado slices, but they do a solid job of mashing it up here anyways. This meat vessel was the ideal size. It was hefty, but held everything in perfectly, which is an essential trait for food trucks. For far too long, the burrito-verse has been crowded with: 1) burritos that are too small, or, 2) burritos that are massive, but are falling apart / dripping. Neither of those will do when you're eating a burrito on the move. I just got a new car (big time brag), so I'm not gonna eat a burrito in it anyways, but if I chose to do so it would be a rito from Anita's. The burrito itself had awesome flavor. It's really simple in its makeup, but the carnitas had big, bold, taste and were expert-level juicy. My favorite part was how generous they were with their salsas. All-too-often a burrito joint will only give you one, maybe two sauces. Anita hooked it up with 3. The sauce play was unparalleled. I was dipping. I was mixing and matching. I was combining flavor profiles and colors. A high quality burrito experience, no doubt. Anita's also has an enticing breakfast menu. It's not too often I'm up on Aurora in the wee hours of the morning, but I'd love to give it a shot.
