Wow! This restaurant has been on our list of places to try (yes we keep a list) for a while now…read more Since we were in the area, we stopped in. We loved this place. They have a breakfast and lunch menu...both are served all day. We ordered a Philly Cheesesteak with a baked potato($13.99), BLT with Coke Slaw ($11.99) and a Shrimp Basket with loaded baked potato and baked beans ($19). Everything is super tasty. Amazing bacon on the BLT, the Philly had chopped bell pepper and chopped onions and the meat was moist and flavorful served on a buttered toasted bun. The SHRIMP!!!!!! There are 12 large breaded (or grilled) shrimp and I couldn't even finish half. This will be another meal this week. Inside there are just 8 tables and the majority of seating is outside on the covered patio. Service is friendly and just as attentive as we wanted/needed. They are open until 8pm on Friday evenings the rest of the week they are open til 2pm. Love Love this place!

Wow. we were on…read moreour way down the highway and got hungry. We pulled into the butcher block and looked at the menu and with all the other good dishes butcher block had shrimp and grits. In addition to being my favorite dish, whenever I see shrimp and grits on the menu, I always sample it because each restaurant has an idea of what the very best shrimp and grits are. The butcher block southern style shrimp, and grits were quite a bit different than all of the other authentic, southern shrimp and grits. I tasted. delicious, terrific, wonderful with a little bit of spice and a little bit of buzz just the way I would make it if I knew how to make shrimp and grits. Joan had cranberry chicken salad. It tasted fresh homemade was an ample dish and served over a nice bed of lettuce salad. I actually got a taste of it and it was really good. I hope we can find a place again on our way home. That I say I enjoyed the shrimp and grits?

Taste: 5/5 Value:…read more4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 This spot was highly recommended to us, and I'm really glad we decided to check it out. The atmosphere was one of the best parts very fun, laid-back, and perfect for relaxing by the water. It has a great outdoor vibe that makes it an awesome place to hang out with friends or enjoy a casual meal while taking in the lake views. The food was delicious, with plenty of flavorful options to choose from, and everything we ordered came out fresh and satisfying. Our server was friendly and attentive. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you're in the area and looking for good food, great service, and a fun waterfront atmosphere.

Ate at Salt Shack today for lunch. We sat outside on their deck. The view was great. Unfortunately,…read moreeverything went down hill from there. I had the fish sandwich. The fish was grouper. It was fried and well prepared. It tasted pretty good. The fries were lukewarm, at best. My poor wife ordered the crab cakes that came with sautéed vegetables. I would put this in the top 5 of the worst meals we were ever served in a restaurant. The crab cakes were, at least, 80% filler. It tasted like the dressing my MIL used to serve at Thanksgiving, that nobody ate. She gave me a portion to try and I thought what little crab there was, had an off taste. The dish came with two spears of asparagus. The asparagus was flowered. It was picked two weeks after it should have been. There were also two sad pieces of plantains, ( I had to ask what they were because they were unrecognizable). It looked as though these may have been cooked yesterday. The rest of the vegetables were so greasy they were almost inedible. The whole plate was a lukewarm mess. The service was adequate, but we had to ask for silverware. The music was so loud on the deck that you couldn't hear yourself think. Absolutely no reason for us ever to come back.
