Let's say you have a health issue or just need to see the doctor. But you don't have health insurance. What do you do? Find a clinic like this and try to get some help.
This clinic can be defined in one word:Horrible. From the incompetent, rude receptionists that lie and selfish, the doctor is unpolite and treated me like crap.
I went in, because I had pain in my knees, back, and foot. Being a first timer I had to fill out paperwork, no problem. A receptionist/nurse told me they can get me in right then and there, if I like. I was informed by the same receptionist that my insurance had been inactive. Prior to going in I thought I had health insurance, but little did I know my services were inactive. After speaking with my insurance company about the situation, I came back into the facility. At the window, one of the receptionist who were seeing me had stepped away, while standing there. . another receptionist came in and ignored that I was even in her presence. So, I had to wait until the main receptionist came back to even be seen. I was told I would have to pay extra to even be seen by the doctor. Which I thought was a ripoff. I went ahead and paid the extra amount, because I had persistent pain. The receptionist told me to seat and wait until called.
So, I did. One of the nurses (I think) saw me, she didn't ask me how I was, what her name was, or her title. I basically was unaware of what was going on, didn't know if she worked there or if she was just a trainer. She had an attitude that was more like nonchalant ,unconcerned, and had little eye contact. I felt uncomfortable around her, once I got in the check-up room she rolled this thing across my forehead, checked my pulse and weight. She didn't explain nothing of what she was doing to me. So, after that I answered some questions walked with her to a open room. Once I got to the room, the room lights were off, she say, "walk in and have a seat". Usually when I go to the doctor the nurse turn on the lights for me and tell me where to sit, so the doctor can see me. Last minute the nurse (or something), turned the lights on and told me that the doctor will be with me soon.
I waited in that room for the doctor for 30 minutes, waiting and waiting. Finally, the doctor decided to pay me a visit. Then I was relieve thinking that someone at least would be nice, concerned, or happy.. Nope, the doctor came in and asked me what was going on, why I was there. Of course, I figured it would on the paperwork.. right? Wrong. He started to ask me why I didn't have insurance, in a belittling state. Sighing and gunting.. I mentioned, a condition that ran in my family and he stopped me immediately and told me that " I'm here for me not my family". He checked my back, by tapping hard on it and looking at my back, to checked my knees with a reflex hammer and told me squat, but didn't check my foot at all. Things that I couldv'e done by myself. The visit with him, took only 9 mins. After I nearly, waited almost a good near day for him to arrive. He later told me that he wanted to put me on a muscle relaxant, ibuprofen, and get 2 x-rays done. Now, I know for a fact muscle relaxers and working don't mix if you work at night and go to class in the daytime. The doctor refused to give me excuse from work while on the muscle relaxer.
After all this, the doctor told me wait at the front counter, for the prescription to be written up. I waited for awhile, until the receptionist told me to wait in the lounge. I waited for another 15 mins, actually went to dozed off waiting to be called. Another patient after me, got their prescription papers and left. While, waiting the group of nurses and receptionists was coming out to go to lunch and one of them told me they called me. But never did, she lied and said we had your prescription ready seconds after I walked from her and the doctor. I felt so disoriented, discriminated, unwanted, and upset that the workers here and doctor can treat their patients, especially a first timer like that. Wow. read more
