Not sure if all three are related to each other, but I felt at home and they treated me like family. Super friendly, laid-back, and genuinely kind people. Coming from Hawai'i, where Aloha Spirit means everything, and having lived around LA long enough to appreciate good customer service -- this was the perfect combo. They made me feel comfortable, cared for, and never like "just another patient." OFFICE: Alright -- let's keep it real. If you're a fellow American and you are reading this: You're looking for a more affordable, solid dental option outside the U.S. If you're expecting some Beverly Hills, spa-style, influencer dental clinic... stay in America. But honestly, even in Beverly Hills, service can be trash. Now, about those people complaining about having to head to another office for a scan -- come on now. At least they drive you there! I had to do it too, but it was easy, handled, and stress-free. The office itself? Very clean, simple, efficient -- no fluff, no drama. They even offered me a blanket when it got cold. It's the little things DENTAL TREATMENT: I'm fresh out the chair with implants, so still in healing mode -- but the care I got was top-notch. Anytime I felt even a little discomfort, they were on it, no hesitation. Long day, but so worth it ***Fun fact -- Dr. Vic let me know that a deep cleaning I had done less than two months ago in LA was totally botched. He found infections, cleaned everything up, and when I got back to my hotel, my mouth felt spotless, looked brighter, and just felt better. He even took extra time to clean the tooth he was planning to extract the next day. That level of care is rare. COMMUNICATION: At first, I was messaging Doctora Angie using Google Translate because I wanted to be respectful -- turns out, she speaks English! All three of them do, actually. Angie is super sweet and made sure my whole experience was solid -- from my first call to even recommending which beach to go swim at. Communicating with all three of them was easy. Any questions I had were answered, and any concerns were addressed. They made sure I was always in the loop, and that really made a difference for me. TRANSPORTATION / LODGING: Since I was traveling solo, I took the train from LA to SD -- 1) no traffic stress, 2) it's been a while since I crossed the border, and 3) let's be honest, with how politically things have been lately, it's just easier. Not sure if they offer this to everyone, but when I shared my situation, they gave me options, including them providing me rides from SD, through the border, and back to SD. Basically a chauffeur service. Emmanuel, the assistant, was awesome -- super cool, easygoing, and made those drives smooth. Also, they've got hotel deals. I stayed at Quartz -- priced nicely in the mid-range with a hot tub and pool. Perfect place to chill after a dental procedure. (Yep -- I'm literally writing this from the hot tub.) Bottom line: If you're looking for a dental crew that'll treat you like family, has great energy, and does legit work -- this is the spot. I still have a couple more visits to go before my implant journey's done, but I'm stoked we found a team we can trust. Would definitely recommend.

My dentist in LA wanted to charge for a crown and work I didn't need. Her practice has state of the art equipment including the newest handheld X-ray equipment so they don't have to jam plastic inserts into your mouth. They have outstanding imaging software so you can see everything in high definition color. If you are thinking about driving to Mexico to get dental work done, just do it. The doctors in the US are most likely ripping you off and doing work you don't need. Dr. Olivas does too quality work and is honest. Well worth the drive.

Stay Far Away From Liberty Dental…read more The crown they made for me almost exactly two years ago just broke! It lasted 2 years and 1 week. One quarter fell away, exposing the metal below... They said it was supposed to last 7-10 years, and possibly up to 20 years! I am a physician with 40 years practice experience, and I have to say this dental group is one of the most incompetent and unethical I've ever experienced... Stick with US quality and care. Two years ago, I traveled to Tijuana to Liberty Dental. They charged me $275 for a PFM (porcelain fused to metal) crown, which required making two trips across the border. Upon my return trip for the fitting, the crown they first made was not even close to the color of the rest of my teeth! They appeared to not know have a clue what they were doing. So they had me leave, to try to re-color the crown, which required spending most of the day in Mexico. But after coming back at the end of the day, it was still not a color match! I didn't want to return again to Mexico, so I just accepted it as-is. After paying $70 for a week's Mexican auto insurance, and $15 for two "discounted" medical passes back across the border (which still required about an hour wait), the total fee was $375 for this extremely poor job. So after I contacted Liberty Dental one week ago, and told them that my crown broke after two years, I asked them if I could somehow get discount on a superior quality crown. I didn't trust getting a replacement PFM crown again -- which required two more trips to Mexico, and another $70 for a week's auto insurance, more time off work, and a tremendous hassel. Their usual charge for a zircon crown - which can be made same day - is $450 to $550 per their website. They said the best deal they could give me, however, was $400. I was dumfounded! I told them, I've already spent $375 two years ago for a crown that broke - and it was covered under a 2 year warranty. But now they wanted to ask for $400 more from me? This would bring my total cost to $375 + $400 + $50 for a day's Mexican auto insurance. I said is it fair that I would have to spend $825 total to receive a quality crown from them? I said no thanks, I'll accept the $375 loss! Just for comparison, I found a good dentist who will make a zircon crown for $800 in San Diego. So I suggest stay far away from this inept "dental" group. Their incompetence is even made worse by their lack of any ethical and caring business practices!

I have had Liberty Dental address extensive dental issues and have been very pleased with their professionalism and over all quality of their work. I found it worth flying down here to have work done vs paying dental insurance and getting huge bills every time in the USA. Dr. Martinez is a fantastic dentist and his assistant/hygienist Leslie is excellent as well. The office manager is amazing at translating everything for me because I speak very minimal Spanish. Overall this place is great and has saved me a lot of money on the dental work they performed for me vs. having it done back home. Thanks Liberty Dental. You guys rock!!
