Dr. Shirley Baker is the best! But I have to post 1 star to sound an alarm regarding the Receptionist Craig. I got double billed $1,080.00. I got my CC statement 6 weeks ago and called Craig to tell him. He said sorry and would refund it. Most companies call Bank and refund immediately. BEEN 6 WEEKS! And countless rude disrespectful lies from Craig! My CC was charged to Actual Human and not Tijuana Cosmetic Dentistry. Craig said Actual Human is a clothing company he owns. I don't know what's going on but I can imagine various scenarios considering his actions (lack of action) and lies! It's a good thing I disputed this with my bank weeks ago! I feel bad for Dr. Baker. I started dental treatment with Baker in April 2021. Between 2021 to August of 2024 I was seen 5 times for the same issues never being resolved. I had gotten an upper all on four and crowned / bridged lower. Her workmanship is EXTREMELY poor as well as the material she uses. My prosthesis was never properly fit causing it to be loose. Compromising the implants. PAINFUL , foul taste and smell coming from implant sites. (Still to this day) The top prosthesis broke before a year and she charged me an additional $4500 to fix on top of the already paid 17,500!!!! The lower teeth crowns don't even cover the entirety of my teeth leaving me sensitive to hot and cold. Huge spaces between teeth. I get infections on lower jaw and have an ongoing infection in my implant sites. I have seen a dentist and 2 oral surgeons here in MT. My entire mouth needs to be restored, because of the crap work this women has done!! Putting me out another $38,000!?!? My last trip in 2024 I had her remove the upper prosthesis due to the pain, and have been left without teeth since. I have sent her reports from professionals I sought out here along with emails about the pain I suffer on a daily basis. I have asked her to call me so we could discuss options to help me move forward, but she doesn't have the courage, respect or decency to respond! Craig has been the middleman. sure she has told me to come down and she'll fix it, but why would I waste my time energy and more money do that again when she never fixed the same issues I was there for previously?!?! PLEASE PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH!! With the amount of money i spent on travel, loss of income , accommodations and the $22,000 I gave her, I could have had my mouth done in the states. Stay away. Shirley Baker is HORRIBLE! Besides being rude , she doesn't care about the patients. She doesn't do things right. I had 2 implants done by her and I had to redo it. Fortunately I found serious dentists in Tijuana. Living in California and she knew it was a trip for me to go to her office but she ignored me on my appointment and sent her " assistant". She never cared to review or look at my implants. It was poorly done. Her material is a joke. She has another page on Yelp but she changed the name to " DRA. MARIA ESPINOZA" because she had mostly bad reviews. Go read all reviews of people she messed with. She can't even be sorry because all she cares is about money. She also tell lies about affiliations and memberships. Don't fall for that. She doesn't take responsibility for her mistakes. If she was here in the US she would be in jail at least. She tells you a quote and when you get to the office it will be twice that amount. She is plain bad! Fortunately I found serious dentists on the 3rd floor. I went to see Dr shirley Baker on Feb 01 2023. This is 100 percent a scam. Do not waste your time or money thinking this will end in your favor. I will admit the first day she gives you hope until she gets her cash that day. Then she will blame you for any concerns or issues you began to start having immediately after. Trust me when I say you will have problems. My stitches came out the same afternoon after I had my bottom teeth removed for my temporary dentures . I had four post put in the bottom and I already had several. My top was removed and replaced with grey temporary's. I paid her 4 transactions of 2500 dollars from my cash app And when I got to her office another debit straight from My checking for $9800.70 thats a total of $19870.00 dollars. When she put my temporary's in I have grey on top and white on bottom. I am in so much pain that I can't stop crying. I tell her this is not what I paid for and she blames me for everything that she has done wrong. After I had to stay 2 more days for her to fix what she had messed up she sets my appointment right before my flight . That way any more mistakes would not have time to be addressed or fixed. On the way to the airport my bottom denture comes off and not even 30 minutes before my flight leaves my top come out all of them. Craig her office manger sends me a Note that states anyone can glue them back in for a small price. I just spent 20 thousand dollars and I am told to have someone to glue them back in REALLY. After all this I just want my money back. They have completely ruined my mouth. I pray I can stop this from happening to any one else. I also have all the recordings of them talking bad about me. It has truly upset me. My attorney will be taking action. I ask them to give me my money since my mouth is already ruined beyond repair thanks to her. read more

Went in over a year ago for a wisdom tooth extraction. I got permanent nerve damage. Went back to get a CT scan then no follow up. They responded to a couple emails now nothing. I talked to the local dentist where I live, he told me that the procedure was unnecessary. Half my mouth has lost feeling. Edit It's been a couple years now, still have nerve damage and can't feel the left side of my mouth. They did nothing to try to make this right, would anyways dodge my calls Edit: The only response I got was from the front desk person, not the dentist, they clearly don't care. The receptionist just sent me some articles on nerve repair. Basically just a google search. They caused permanent damage from a unnecessary procedure after claiming it was necessary. I was being generous with the two-star review before, but have dropped it to one star because of Craig's defensive response to my review. The $50 deposit is clear in the paperwork. If you miss your appointment (for a number of reasons, perhaps a long line at the border?) you forfeit the deposit. Craig, you are a liar if you say you do not charge this fee because it is right there in plain English and I have the form that says so. This just adds to the whole mistrust in dealing with this clinic. They DO NOT pick up their patients at the border. The photo directions of your 20-minute walk are confusing and by Leah's own admission, the photos are not accurate. Leah is the person who contacted me from Dr Baker's office and followed up with an email. So, no border pick up. My review was accurate and Craig's response was unprofessional and uncalled for. I live in the San Diego and was looking for a dentist in TJ where the prices are less expensive. Dr. Bakers' prices are about 40% of the quotes received from dentists in San Diego. In the last few years I've saved around $7,000 going to this dentist. And the work done on my teeth is much better than the work done by my last dentist in San Diego. read more

The 3 hour drive down from Carson CA is well worth it, the Zona Rio area is safe and vibrant with many restaurants, shops and pharmacies nearby. They will meet you at the border with a complimentary taxi if you don't want to drive. Over the past few visits I have saved me over $10,000 with Dr Baker replacing 6 failing veneers, 3 root canals and temporary crowns, I now have a smile I can be proud of. Both my wife and I have been very happy patients of the Tijuana Clinic For Cosmetic Dentistry for nearly 4 years. Dr. Baker and her staff are extremely competent, caring, and make you feel as much like family as respected patients. We have had cleanings, crowns, and a dental implant while under Dr. Baker's care. Everyone is bilingual and access from the border is quite easy with their driver service. Manny, their driver, is friendly, and always there when you are ready to be picked up or returned to the border. With the new southern border crossing point your walk is quite short to the pickup point. And of course, costs are anywhere from 30-50% less than is typically found in the States. Insurance is accepted. And in our case, Delta Dental, reimbursement is quite easy when submitting and out of network claim form. There are lot's of choices for dentists in Tijuana. Some will provide lower costs, other's not. We are quite happy with out decision and look forward to many more years as patients. read more

First of all a big thank you to the entire team! I had my braces here with Dr. Erica Padilla. One of the best dental experiences I've had. Let's start off with the price, Damon Braces cost me $2700 here compared to $6000 in San Diego... My total treatment was about 9 months but I had to get them off a bit early for personal reasons. They offer payment options: you pay for the treatment first and then 70-80 per follow up appointment. So your first payment should be around $1500 if I remember correctly. Dr. Baker has whitened my teeth using zoom as well included in the $2700. I also got my permanent retainers as well. They offered the clear ones but knowing me those wouldn't work well - I'd just forget to wear them at night. The entire staff is very accommodating and extremely friendly. They also offer complimentary pick up and drop off service if you're concerned about taxis in Tijuana. All and all I got Damon Braces, reshaped teeth, cleaning and zoom whitening all for $2700. I have no complaints from any of my two visits to Dr. Baker's office. I live in LA and a couple of months ago I drove down to have two veneers done on my two front teeth. Dr. Baker and her staff were very professional and caring, she demonstrated a lot of knowledge on the subject and listened to my concerns until I was satisfied. I had an overseas trip scheduled and in less than 10 days she was able to get all the work done and it came out very nice, so she will work with you to accommodate your needs. If you're looking for a good dental office in Tijuana, definitely give Dr. Baker's office a try, she's as good as any dentist in the US and you will save a lot of $$$. read more

Needed a root canal and crown on the last back molar. Even with my insurance, I was going to pay at least $1500. The tooth had a small fracture, so even if the root canal was started, there was no guarantee that the tooth would have to come out anyway. So that would have been another $400. All money I don't have. Checked the internet and found Dr. Shirley Baker in Tijuana. Yes, I was leery of going to a Mexico dentist, but I have many friends that do so. Made the call, and had me in the next day. They have taxi service (free) to and from the facility. Very short drive. I got there and asked a million questions, and she answered them all to my satisfaction. All dentists want to try and save a tooth, and she was no exception......but I said take it out, and her oral surgeon did just that. A grand total of $190! No real pain....but let's face it, it's a tooth getting pulled out! At the border I paid $6 to a van company to go to the front of the line....well worth every penny. I was so happy...I could have skipped to the border. Hell, I'm retired, and make a good paycheck.....but I can't blow $1500-$2000 trying to save a bad tooth. This is the worst dentist I've ever been to. I had veneers, crowns & 2 fillings done by Dr. Baker. One of the filling fell off after only 1 month, the crowns & veneers start falling one by one after 2-3 weeks after she glue them PERMANENTLY. She gave me packs of temporary glue to keep with me,just in case either a crown or veneer would fall off. Really?!!!! I was in shock!!! What kind of doctor does this?!!!! She knows her work sucks, and the materials that she uses are very poor quality. And if something goes wrong, she blaims the patient. Every time a veneer or crown would fell off, she would tell me to go back and have it re-glued, and that would happen almost every 2 weeks. After 2 months of driving back and forth to Tijuana (I live in Los Angeles), I got physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted and decided not to go see her anymore and see a different doctor here in U.S, to basically repair all the damage she caused. I ended up with low quality materials and very poor work done. After this bad experience, I don't think I would ever go back to Mexico to have any dental work done. Doctor Baker and her Staff are in a word Exceptional! The receptionist Juan treated me as if I was his brother; offering me coffee, asking me how my day was going, etc. Each time I came in he was so nice and courteous. He is a class act and when I call he knows its me by caller ID. Each time I made an appointment they were able to change it to my benefit and get me in earlier. Doctor Baker is not a dentist, she is an ARTIST! I had good teeth; however, a stain that bothered me and one tooth was uneven throwing off my smile. She suggested (8) Veneers. I had no idea how good my smile would look; it is life changing! The work they did for me is AMAZING and 50% less than in the US. I have much more confidence with my new perfect smile. They did really good work. Just a little warning. If you have insurance and are paying out of pocket to get reimbursed. Get a printout showing exactly what was done and the x-rays. The doctor only gave me a hand written receipt and am still trying to get my money from Delta. Make sure that the receipt shows that you actually paid. Just got the latest one from Craig at the dentist office. Turned it in to Delta Dental. They came back and said it was just an invoice and not a receipt. Back and forth I go. read more

My husband and I have both been patients of Dr. Baker. We started 3 years ago, with basic work such as crowns. My dentist in the states said my crowns from Dr. Baker were of top quality. Our second year, she made a denture for my husband that was half the cost and a much better fit than the one he got from our US dentist, and did some additional work for me. This winter, I had a bone graft, sinus lift, and two implants done by the oral surgeon who works with Dr. Baker. It was such a phenomenal experience - no pain, no sedation, no heavy post-surgery drugs - and handled so professionally, I decided I would not use any other dentist in the future. Everything from the pickup by Manny through the return to the border is clean, professional and timely. And everyone speaks English, which is both impressive and most reassuring when questions arise. My experience with Dr. Baker and her staff was so very pleasant. I went to her knowing I needed a crown on a split front tooth. The dentist I saw at home gave me an estimate that I couldn't afford. I did my homework and looked on line for dentists. I chose Dr. Baker because of all the great recommendations. She's very efficient, pleasant, kind, and painless. I had old veneers on my front teeth and they kept chipping but I didn't have the $5000 to fix them that a Phoenix dentist told me I would have to pay. Finally I had to do something, and a friend recommended Dr. Baker. I was leery of crossing the border, but with her designated taxi driver taking me both ways, and her welcoming staff it was no problem. There are so many reasons to appreciate her dental office. Her work is beautiful. She took the time to explain all my options. She gives pain shots that don't hurt! Dr. Baker also doesn't toggle between you and other patients, leaving you waiting there with your mouth open while she tends to someone else. Her staff is lovely, and they speak English. They have a San Diego phone number and take your debit card without international charges. Her office is peaceful and serene. I could go on and on, but the final thought it: I paid less than a third of the original estimate for the work. Like most people, I don't have thousands of dollars, no matter how urgent the need it, but thanks to Dr. Baker, I can smile proudly again. read more
