Coconut manicure, Zoya Pixie Dust polish in Godiva

Traveling in from Dallas for my company Christmas party, I had to get a manicure! I had removed dipping powder myself, and my nails were in a terrible mess. I found Mi Cumbia on Yelp and so glad I did!! The shop is an easy walk from the W Hotel, and it's a far departure from run-of-the-mill nail salons. I had the coconut manicure, which was both healing and luxurious! I will definitely be back every time I'm in Philly!!

Hands down one of the best Brazilian waxes I ever had. Karina does a exceptional job by sitting down with you and explaining the process, whether it's your 1st Brazilian or your 100th, since it's your first time to Mi Cumbia. Nice added touch. She was quick and efficient. and boy did I like the products. With a Brazilian, you have to to trust the technician and the product must be compatible and comfortable to your skin. GREAT TECHNICIAN & GREAT PRODUCT!!!! Love the small intimate feel of this natural oasis. The eclectic design and decor are reminiscent of Columbian culture with raw and earthy elements. Will definitely be a regular customer here.

I used to love this place, but I didnt like my last visit. The charged me charged me 66$ for the selenas pedicure which was originally 50$. I wanted a simple french pedicure and they charged me an extra 10$ without telling me that a french pedicure was an extra 10$ charge. There was no good communication. I even went to the website no where does it say a French pedicure is an extra 10$ charge ! I only had a certain amount on me at the time. Which didn't sit well with me. I also tipped because, Im a kind customer. As I got home my pedicure was smeared. I didn't spent 70$ for my pedicure to mess up not only that but the nail technician who did feet didnt do a good job on my heels. My heels were peeling when I got home they were not smooth. The service wasn't great. This is the 3rd time my pedicures have been smearing whenever I take off my shoes. Sadly this was the last time for me.

I had a gift certificate to use up and finally made it in for a shellac manicure today. I must say I am very impressed, and this place lives up to the hype. It is a gem unlike any other salon I have been to. The text-only booking system was extremely efficient, and allowed me to pay everything (including tip) ahead of time so I had nothing to worry about when I came in. The people are extremely kind, welcoming, and personable, and you can tell they put a lot of love into their work. While I love having nice nails, I can't say I've really ever come out of a manicure feeling more relaxed than when I came in, as the salons I've been to have usually been noisy and busy, in and out type of places. However, at Mi Cumbia, I truly felt relaxed and really enjoyed my experience, and not just the finished product. The salon is quaint, beautifully decorated, and has a semi-private feel. Karina, the owner, did my nails and worked some serious repair magic, as two of my nails were badly chipped. The all natural products she used smelled and felt amazing - I have never had lavender buds and mango butter as part of a manicure before, and it was such a wonderful treat. I love that instead of acetone, all you smell at Mi Cumbia are amazing and simple organic products. I had a wonderful time chatting with Karina and learning more about her unique business, as well as chatting with Sahar (I believe she is the manager? She was very fun to talk to). The price is steep for sure: at $70 for a shellac manicure, it's twice what I pay for traditional gel. However, for all of the reasons I mentioned above, I think it is worth it, and I won't be able to resist coming back.

fantastic decor and they even have jewelry for sale!

Ask the Community - Mi Cumbia

I tried calling the phone number listed and it automatically goes to the message " The number you are trying to reach is no longer in service" What's the deal??? Are they still in business?

Greetings from MI CUMBIA, we converted to a text message only system about a year ago. Please text to that number to request an appointment day / time. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.

Do they use structure gel underneath a gel manicure?

Greetings and thank you for the message! As an organic nail spa, we do not provide a structure under our gels.

I probably should have made an appointment for my last few visits, because I somehow always get Coco and she's just not good. She did a dip mani on me a few weeks ago - my first - that was so lumpy and thick that the cuticle edges kept catching on my hair and clothes. When I finally went back to have it removed and get a regular gel manicure instead, she rushed through my pedicure (no spa, just regular). While she was using the callus file she was looking around the salon and not at my heels, which she was sanding down to nothing. Barely any massage. The gel manicure was also rushed. She was using a worn file to shred the thick layers of dip powder - which she'd applied a few weeks ago - until my nail plates felt sore. You can see how the polish was applied. No cleaning up of the skin around my nails and a gap between the polish and cuticle. I didn't love the color (it definitely looked different on the swatch nail) but I just wanted to leave at that point. I walked out feeling like I wasted $40 plus tip. And now my nails are SO THIN. I'm sad because I really like Alice, Lily, June, and the gentleman who does the massages. I've been going here forever. I just can't keep wasting money on bad manicures. I also miss when they'd use a fresh file and buffer on each client, but now they're obviously reusing the ones they have into the ground.

First, he seemed to be giving a more aggressive massage than usual making it difficult for tech to paint my nails. Then he was massaging my lower back and actually "massaged" my bottom. He has never done this before. It was gross. I tried to move and he moved his hand up. Also, the tech I had -I don't know her name- she is the youngest one -again did a gel manicure that chipped within 2 days. I thought it was a fluke the first time but now I know it is her. She also rushes as though there is another customer waiting when there isn't. I was hoping for a different tech that did a better job on another visit but no such luck. The positive is they use plastic liners for foot tub and give you a cold water bottle.

Somewhere in my life instruction manual, the section explaining how therapeutic a pedicure can be…read morewas apparently omitted. I came to Naturale because my wife is a regular, and she is highly discerning about beauty and personal care establishments, so her endorsement carried real weight. I am a 41-year-old man who ran marathons for years, still runs several miles each week, and has walked 4 to 5 miles a day for well over a decade. My feet and toenails had absorbed the consequences through pressure, neglected calluses, and more discomfort than I fully realized. Diana was thorough, gentle, and exceptionally kind as she soaked my feet, cleaned up the damaged nails, and removed years of excess skin. The chair was extremely comfortable, and the process revealed how much sharpness, tension, and pain I had learned to tolerate. I cannot make any grand scientific claims, but the calming effect was real and lingered for hours afterward. It felt like a physical reset that massage, stretching, yoga, and chiropractic work had never quite reached. Naturale itself is clean, spacious, and easy to navigate, with convenient online booking, simple payment, and a seating area that feels pleasantly private from Locust Street. I skipped polish because it does not fit my personal style as a straight, traditionally masculine man, though I fully respect any person who enjoys it. The price felt extremely fair, and next time I plan to add a manicure to the pedicure and make this part of my routine every 5 weeks. Highly recommended, and I will absolutely be back.
