I recently stayed at the MGM tower at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. The parking was plentiful and right beside the main entrance, so we didn't need to walk a lot. It is my understanding that this tower was recently renovated and it was previously the water club, so it's a little more lux than the other towers. I could tell they did a make over , everything was very clean and looked great. The staff was very welcoming and the tower in itself was very quiet unlike many other places I've stayed at in AC. You couldn't hear a thing, just peacefulness, which made for a good nights rest. The room was very spacious and the beds were comfy. They have two indoor pools and a jacuzzi on the main level (the pools are heated ) & a gym. I did also see the outdoor pools (must be fun in the summer). I also did see they have a nice spa but I didn't get to try it out. I did do room service and ordered their steak and eggs and pancakes and everything was delicious. Overall I had a great stay and would definitely come back.

The hotel was nice. While it may seem a little obsessive to some, the security outside the elevators made me feel better about where I chose to stay. The room was clean, cool, and the view was pleasant. Depending on what you might be looking for, the hotel has shopping, food, and entertainment all located within 10 to 50 feet of the lobby. Would most definitely recommend staying here and will be booking again.

The Borgata is typically my first choice to stay in the Atlantic City Marina area. The hotel was at capacity, so I was directed to stay at The Water Club. After my first visit, I would say it was good and I would visit again. TWC has its own parking and valet. You can still park in the Borgata garage if that's what you're used to, but it is quite a walk to TWC check in from there. The front desk agent was great, and I was in the room quickly. The room has everything you need, similar in layout to Borgata's room, but noticeably dated furniture. The walk back and forth to Borgata is through a retail walkway; it was actually closer than I expected and you're in the heart of the casino in a few minutes. Other than room service, all of the food/beverages are in Borgata. When entering the room elevator lobby, there is a similar security key check as Borgata; security certainly seemed adequate. TWC has outdoor pools for the summer and an indoor pool that I did not visit. The outdoor pool feature, however, has been duplicated by an even bigger outdoor pool at Borgata, so it is a matter of personal preference. Overall, TWC doesn't have the energy and crowd of the Borgata hotel tower, but I'm sure there are guests that prefer a quieter hotel experience and maybe TWC is better for that. I still think I prefer Borgata overall, but TWC worked for me as well.

    Renovated King

It's been years since I've stayed in the Water Club at Borgata and after hearing the news that the Water Club was getting renovated I've been anxiously awaiting a comped room offer. My girlfriend and I had plans to stay over to celebrate her birthday in a comped Classic King. A few days prior to our reservation I called Borgata and was offered a Water Club king at no additional charge and gladly accepted the offer. We checked in right at 4pm. The long walkway from the casino floor to the Water Club lobby is nice as it's away from the vast majority of other casino guests and foot traffic (it's very hectic and clustered near the doors of the regular classic lobby). Check in was easy and the staff members we dealt with were very professional. We were given a newly renovated room on the 28th floor (renovations will all supposedly be completed by Memorial Day). There are hotel room key scanners at the doorway leading into the elevators along with a guard making sure you scan in your key. There are also room key scanners on the elevators to ensure you have an active key prior to taking the elevator upstairs. The rooms were clean, bright, and elegant. Our view was amazing overlooking the Golden Nugget marina, inlet, ocean, and other casinos. The bed was comfy. The shower had good water pressure. Lots of usable outlets around the room. The lighting in the bathroom could've been better but that's the least of my worries. Checkout was 11am but we were out of the room by 9. Express checkout was easy as we just had to sign our room key booklet and drop the keys into the check out box. The rooms were very much nicer than the classic rooms and it's much more peaceful in the Water Club lobby. If you have the opportunity to stay in the Water Club as opposed to the classic hotel, do it. I have reservations in the Water Club again for May and cannot wait.

Beautiful Hotel with amazing views ! Close to the outlets and boardwalk. Indoor pools and the rooms have mini refrigerators in them ! Huge food sections and many shops also. You really don't have to leave the place to be honest. Great bars and even has a club.

I'm too used to being in Atlantic City casinos and smelling cigarette smoke everywhere, in the hallways and in the nonsmoking rooms. Water Club rooms are clean, and did not smell like smoke! The view from the room was fabulous. Be sure to check out all the pools, but especially the pool on the top floor. The view from the top floor (spa and pool) was breathtaking, and you are surrounded by floor to ceiling windows. Several pools to choose from, indoor and outdoor. Steps away from Borgata for gaming and dining. - comfortable beds - clean - nice shower with good water pressure Down sides... pools close really early - most close at 6pm; we asked for a plastic bag for our wet bathing suits, they don't have any (I suppose it's the ban on bags)? Still, what do we do with our wet items when we check out?

I visited the MGM Tower pool after discovering it on the hotel room TV. The staff was professional, and capturing a picture here is better during off-peak times. It's the finest hotel pool I've encountered, and the parking rates are reasonable. What's even better is that you don't have to stay at the MGM Tower hotel in Bogota to access this specific pool, which offers both indoor and outdoor options. Overall, I would return just for the pool.

The old water club is now The MGM Tower. The rooms have been renovated so everything is fresh and new. Great new technology to check in, you don't even have to talk to anyone, everything is through the MGM app. Keyless entry, whatever you need is on the app. My only complaint, is they close the small little store where you can buy snacks and water, so you have to walk all the way to the other side of the hotel if you want anything after 8:00 p.m. and while they redid all the rooms, the pillows in the beds are not the best. I expect more plushness when you're talking about an MGM resort. The beds are kind of hard, and the pillows are just pillows. Staff that I talk to and ran into were very nice.

This is what you get at the water club.

We have stayed often and we are used to clean well prepared rooms so this was a real disappointment. The room was not cleaned properly at all. There was debris on the floor and my husband found an opened half empty bottle of beer left in the refrigerator. The counters were not cleaned well and they appeared spotty and dull. It was clear the room had not been serviced with care. The sheets were changed and clean but the overall condition of the room did not reflect the quality we have consistently received in the past. I want to be fair because we usually enjoy our stays here but this was not acceptable and it raises concerns about the cleaning process. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future guests can have the level of cleanliness and comfort we have always appreciated here.

*****THIS IS A LONG READ*****…read more This was my first time staying at this hotel, and I must say, my check-in experience was horrible! This is my birthday weekend, so I came alone for a little R&R and self-care. I did not expect to be treated as horribly as I was! I arrived about 3:30 and went to the kiosk for express check-in, only to realize I had left my wallet in my car. I went over to the bell hop desk, where I was nicely greeted by Mario, to ask if I could leave my belongings there while I went to retrieve my wallet. Mario explained to me that he could hold my things, but had to grab a cart for them and give me a ticket as standard protocol. While I waited for him to return, the most RUDE, NASTY, ARROGANT, IMPOLITE, IGNORANT male comes to me yelling, "MA'AM YOU CAN'T LEAVE YOUR STUFF HERE!" I told him to calm down and stop talking to me like that! I then tried explaining the situation to him, and what Mario told me, but before I could finish, he cut me off and yells... "Well he's new! That's why he told you to leave your stuff here! I'M THE BELL CAPTAIN! HE SHOULD'VE CAME AND GOT ME! YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE YOUR STUFF HERE, YOU NEED A TICKET!" I asked him why he was yelling! There was no need for that, especially if I'm not speaking to him that way! He replies while flailing his arms around, "OH HERE WE GO! HERRRRRE WE GO!" I tried again to explain that Mario had already told me that, but Mr. "Bell Captain" who I later found out name is Saleem, was so bent on letting me know his position that he couldn't even hear what I was saying. Mario then comes back with the cart, and he proceeds to yell at Mario! "DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN! WHO AM I??? WHO AM I ??" Mario and another Bellman quietly says, "Bell Captain." He then says, "YEAH SO THAT'S WHY Y'ALL CHECK WITH ME FIRST!" I stepped in and told him that if he's a real leader, he doesn't have to blast who he is, (not to mention it was on his name tag) and he should not be embarrassing his employees publicly. He could have talked to him in the back and let him know what he did wrong. I didn't need to see that! I also told him, I'm not sure if he's having a bad day, but there was no reason for him to behave this way! He starts yelling...again...."I'M GREAT! ALL MY BILLS ARE PAID! I GOT MONEY IN THE BANK! I'M GOOD!" I don't understand what that had to do with anything but whatever. He then went back to yelling about him being the Bell Captain and what the protocol was for me leaving my stuff there. CLEARLY he missed that Mario did the right thing from the beginning! Mr. Bell Captain just felt the need to power trip in that moment for whatever reason. I told him he needed to listen and not interrupt when someone is speaking because he would have known that it was handled correctly! He put his hand up and says, I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU!" I looked at Mario, thanked him for helping me and told him he did nothing wrong. This situation made me so angry that I burst into tears! To add insult to injury, after all the drama, I was waiting for over an hour to get my belongings because SOMEONE put the incorrect room number in the system. I found that out because I had to go back down to the lobby to see what was going on with my things. I was late for my dinner reservation, and my night was pretty much ruined. I couldn't fully enjoy my dinner the way I'd hoped to. I actually cried while at the restaurant because I was still so frustrated with how everything had gone. Not only did I come here to rest and relax, I came her to try and release some of my grief from the loss of my Baby Brother. Hopefully my spa experience will be much better. Shout out to "T" whom I believe was the Operations Manager. He helped me calm down and agreed to address Saleem and the issue. However, I wanted this situation to be documented. NOBODY should ever be able to get away with mistreating ANYONE no matter their position. I WILL be pursuing this further until I'm satisfied with the outcome.

We arrived pretty late and the check-in line was long, but it moved quickly so that was a plus. First thing to note: the casino definitely smells like a full-on cigarette campaign, so just be prepared for that. Aside from that, there are tons of options for food, shopping, and of course plenty of ways to gamble. The staff was nice across the board, and the bartenders were especially friendly and made us some great drinks. We stayed one night and the room was huge, easily enough space for four people in a standard room. The bathroom was really nice, and there's a mini fridge in the room which is always convenient. Parking is not complimentary, so keep that in mind. The pool was closed (not sure why), which was a little disappointing. But overall, it's a nice casino, reasonably priced for a quick trip, and I'd definitely visit again. Bonus points for being both dog-friendly and kid-friendly.

On top of that, a power outlet in their room didn't even work, and the scariest part -- there was brown, sticky condensation (they described it smelling like old cigarettes) dripping onto their bedsheets and phone charger. That could've caused a fire. They told the hotel staff more than once, but no one seemed to care. No real response. No solution. Not even an apology.
