I bought a 1965 Mustang coupe a few years ago from MGM. great price, no rust, new paint, not the best but good enough for a driver. They said it drove great! Car was delivered and had zero gas in the tank. Gauges didn't work neither did the brakes. She was not a daily driver or safe to be on the road. Long story short it turns out the car was a 1964 numbers matching ex Ford Show Demo car pre 64. Worth a lot of money until I upgraded everything! Duh! Now she drives like a new modern car, looks, sounds and drives great. It cost $$ but I certainly have made a good investment In the long run. In March of 2026 I bought an 87 Camaro from this place and had a ton of issues. Manager Louis Jimenez told me that older cars would likely have some issues, but they don't sell garbage cars. He promised that any car I bought from them would run and be safe. I took him at his word and I would find out later this was a mistake. Louis told me that there were 2 sets of keys to the car when I asked. Carfax came back clean (no accidents, salvage, etc) and had reasonable miles on it. There were a couple issues, but nothing unexpected in a 40 year old car. I bought it "sight unseen." Once you buy from them they lose interest in you. The moment I said "I'll take it," I placed a deposit on the car. Then they were real attentive for a few days until I made the down payment on it. Took several days to get the financing pushed through, but the bank said it was because they were waiting on the dealership to do stuff. When I called, nobody answered the phone, but I would get a text from Louis stating he would call me back shortly. That usually ended up being a day or two and only after I called back. Took about two weeks to get the car financed. I thought this might've been a scam because I couldn't get anyone to talk to me hardly at all. The car was supposed to be transported to me, but I couldn't reach anyone. Many days later Louis finally helps me line up the transport and the car is sent to me. So the car arrives its unloaded and the driver hands me one set of car keys. I ask where the other one is and he says something about it being in the car and he leaves. The other set is not in the car. I contact Louis and he verifies there are 2 sets and he says they would be attached to each other. That means the delivery driver intentionally detached the second set of keys and kept them. I have asked about this a few times and Louis will not address it. I called the police, but since these keys don't have a chip until somebody steals the car there is nothing to investigate. Getting the title for the car was also a royal pain. This process took so long I even had the local police department check to see if it was a stolen car. By the time I got it I was already getting "Final Notices" from the finance company to send them a copy or I would get fined. At this time I have my car. It's stuck in the middle of my street, but I have it. The car will not start, just cranks over despite being promised it would. They suggested me beating on some part of it with a rubber mallet anytime I wanted to start it...Seriously?! I had it towed to a classic car mechanic in the area. He found that the fuel system was shot and that is why it wouldn't start. He said it was probably a good thing too because the cooling fans and parts of the cooling system also didn't work properly and I would've damaged the engine if I drove it. They are not even able to do a road test on it yet to see what else might need work because the car needs a more work to even get to the point. They told me that a lot of this stuff was easily visible. The question is, did they see them and choose to ignore them or do they not look at them at all so they can claim ignorance? The brakes, suspension, air conditioning, belts, spark plugs, hoses, etc. The price of the car was 25,155. KBB wont let you search that old to get a value, but the owner of the Classic Car specialty shop it is still at says he would've paid 10k on a good day, but personally he would've bought a different one. I want to say that I bought this car "AS-IS" which is pretty normal for a car like this, but they sold me a paper weight, probably knowingly. Be WARNED if you decide to buy from these guys. How many cars on that webpage are garbage and how many are good? I wouldn't take the gamble if I were looking for a car, go elsewhere because this place will lie to you. Wow!? My experience mirrors many of these other reviews. I need to start by saying I have no knowledge of classic car buying or maintenance. I wanted a turnkey car to drive to the gym every day now that I'm retired. I was told this car was "perfect for cruising down the highway or hitting the track." It is a 66 Chevelle. Their words: "This Chevelle sounds like an amazing blend of classic muscle car charm and modern performance upgrades, making it the perfect cruiser or show stopper! Plus, if youre looking to draw attention at car shows or cruising down Main Street, you definitely won't lose in this beauty". I also paid for an inspection through Auto Appraisal Group in Illinois, which in hindsight appears to have been mostly visual. That was discouraging. Almost immediately, problems started: The mirror fell off The glove box would not stay shut There was no battery hold-down The A/C did not work The car squealed because the alternator was misaligned due to oversized valve cover gaskets and the bracket being maxed out I later discovered wiping/cleanup underneath several areas of the car where major leaks apparently existed This car leaks badly. I can park it for two minutes and there are drops on the ground. After their extensive photo-shopped pictures and videos, I can assure you there was a puddle of liquid underneath the car. Now I am potentially dealing with bad head gaskets or even a cracked block. I also discovered there was no thermostat installed and the radiator overflow was not hooked up. After driving it to the gym one day, the car would not start and needed a jump. The very next day, I started it again and suddenly the radiator hose blew off, spraying coolant all over my garage floor and underside and top side of the hood after hitting the fan. I later had the car looked at in detail. That is partly on me, and partly on AAG for not communicating how limited the inspection really was. They gave it a thumbs up with "some leaks somewhere." I also never heard back from them as I was told I would before completing the purchase. I own that decision. Maybe all these things -- the mirror, glovebox, missing battery hold-down, coolant problems, and several leaks -- somehow happened immediately after I received the car. But I find that hard to believe. I am shocked at the price I paid, with no negotiation, while not being informed of what appear to be some very serious mechanical challenges. "As Is" is fine -- but buyers should absolutely beware and get a detailed inspection before purchasing from this place. The salesman, Pete, was friendly and did fix a light issue he noticed before delivery. I own my part in this situation, but I strongly caution others: a real, detailed inspection is mandatory before buying a car from MGM. read more

DO NOT TRUST MGM CLASSIC CARS IN ADDISON, IL I recently purchased a 1988 Chevy G20 van from MGM Classic Cars for $13,500. Said to be one owner from NC that they bought and added to their showroom. During phone calls and text exchanges, they seemed professional and customer-oriented. Unfortunately, once the van arrived in Texas, the truth became clear. They completely failed to disclose serious mechanical and structural issues: Major rear main seal leak Leaking valve covers Dead A/C system, with a compressor in a box--outdated and never installed Severe rust along the windshield frame and doors Failed instrument panel, gear shifter indicator also gone Driver side vent window fell out the first time it was opened Side mirror detached during transport Dry-rotted tires Worn-out suspension They expertly dodged specific questions over the phone and used strategically chosen photos online to hide the vehicle's true condition. I have not been able to drive or enjoy the van since it arrived--it won't even pass Texas inspection. I'm already $20,000+ into this mistake, and the costs are still climbing. This was a classic bait-and-switch, and I'm exploring mediation and possible legal action. Bottom line: Do not buy from MGM Classic Cars based on their word or pictures. ***Buyers Beware *** MGM is a bunch of crooks...especially Tom Denic! Please learn through my mistake!! I purchased a 2001 Pontiac Trans Am (site unseen). I have done this a few times before and thought I was working with a professional classic car dealer, WRONG! MGM intentionally and deceptively failed to disclose serious material issues with the vehcile. Sales representative, Tom Denic assured me that the vehicle was in "immaculate" condition through my phone call with him at the time of purchase and the only major issue being a passenger headlight motor that was going out and only worked 50% of the time. In addition. The posting indicated the vehicle was "well maintained" and the buyer would be "proud to own this one." Based on these representations, and my understanding of what I thought was "show room" condition; I proceeded with the purchase ($25K after talking them down from $29,994) and an additional shipment fee ($1,295) to receive in Texas. The features included made a reasonable buyer believe everything was working with the exception of the headlight motor. Upon delivery and inspection of the vehicle, I discovered numerous issues that were not disclosed and materially affect the condition, safety, and value of the vehicle: -Passenger side window motor is completely nonfunctional. -Driver side window motor is failing. -Interior window plate is missing, compromising window integrity. -Driver side window is falling out of track. -Driver side door panel is falling off. -Gapping between driver window and T-Tops, which will cause water intrusion. -Interior fuse box panel cover is missing. -Both interior T-Top roof covers are missing. -Trunk Release/hatchback will not remain open due to defective supports. -Keyless Entry does not work. -Anti-Theft System Alarm does not work. -Stereo Wheel Mounted Controls -The integrity of the rear end is compromised with faulty springs and shocks. These defects are inconsistent with the representations made to me prior to purchase. In a series of text messages between Mr. Denic and myself, it was ultimately agreed that the vehicle would be inspected by an auto shop and that I would obtain an estimate to bring the vehicle to a reasonably safe condition, as agreed upon at the time of purchase. A few days later the inspection was shared with Mr. Denic. Their inspection also determined that the integrity of the rear end was a serious issue that needed to be addressed. Let it also be known that other vehicle postings include pictures of doors, windows down, trunks open, etc.; therefore, proving many of these material issues were known by MGM Classic Cars and purposely withheld. As of this correspondence, Mr. Denic has not responded to me as he went silent once the inspection report was shared. What trash... Since, I have learned they have been sued several times and there are open litigation cases against them now, some far worse than what I experieced. read more

The Good, The Bad and the ugly. Really mixed experience. Let's start with the positive. I thought Earl was very friendly and seemed to be a good guy. I think he got me into a good car at a fare price. I am not unhappy with my purchase, their are a lot of positives with the car that were never communicated.. The "purchase" was easy, i did everything on the phone contract was sent with in hours. Pete and Tom were always quick to respond when I messaged them a few times. They did an "inspection" found a few issues and "addressed" them at no cost to me. (inspection and addressed are in quotations) The Bad!!! The communication after the purchase.. Earl was very hard to contact, it was very hard to get honest feedback about the progress of my car. It took almost two months before they shipped. I understand that car repairs take time and parts are hard to find on occasion but there should be some level of communication initiated by MGM Classics, to inform the customer of progress and time. If Earl would have initiated contact and shared information, it would have alleviated a lot of the stress involved with the process. The ugly: after I received the car, I took it to my local mechanic for inspection just to confirm the car was safe and able to drive. IT IS NOT. The steering column bolt was missing!!! This connects the steering wheel to the car. This car is not drivable and is extremely unsafe. A couple of the Engine mounts (bolts) were also missing. These Issues are easy to identify and easy to repair. MGM did not do a quality inspection on this car prior to shipping. Other issues Transmission and oil leak which is to be expected with an older car. None of the gauges worked also something that I can live with and repair. But safety issues that put myself and family at risk is a huge liability Not only for myself, but MGM. Would I buy from MGM again? Yes. Would I buy from MGM without an in person inspection? NO. Would I trust MGM to do any maintenance or repairs? NO. A lot of the issues fall on me for not having an outside inspection and not viewing the car in person. I also should have asked more questions and been less trusting of the information, Earl provided. When I started this process I told Earl my priority was a car that was drivable and safe. This car neither. (At this point). So ask questions before you pay, have a car inspection, view car in person, have a clear understanding of the process prior to purchase. Ron Royce. read more

I put a refundable deposit down on Aug. 1st on a car that I ended up not buying, and now I've been going back and forth trying to get it back and still nothing, a month and a half later.. been texting and calling Jimmy and Tom with very little responses, if any at all. I put up a review before about this issue and was threatened with "it would probably help your situation" if I was to take that review down, so in good faith I did, which, surprisingly, did not help my situation at all as I still do not have my money back.. all I get is excuse after excuse. These guys are shady ass liars and thieves, do NOT do business with them unless you like being stolen from. I have all texts telling me it's refundable and how they ignore me and the excuses, they have my email and can easily PayPal my money back to me in a day if they really were a good honest company, but still nothing.. I've seen other reviews that share similar situations, should've read them first before even going in. All I want is my thousand dollars back, it's been way long enough now, 6 weeks is ridiculous to hold onto someone's money, that is nothing but theft. BUYER BEWARE I recently had my classic car serviced at MGM. Ive visited their shop in the past and so the vast amount of classic cars they service and maintain. Hence, i brought mine there to be looked at. My main issue was an exhaust leak but it also had some other issues. The problems started from the beginning. Absolutely zero communication. I had to keep calling and texting to check in. Only seldomly receiving responses. With constant requests, they were able to give me a run down of some of the issues and that it would be a couple weeks to get the job done. I understand its peak season but this extended to two months. With no further explanations or communications since the initial assessment, after a couple months i basically gave an ultimatum i need to car back. They apparently did some work on it but NOBODY there could tell me what was done. The price was almost triple what the estimate was. My main issue was an exhaust leak. Eventually, I paid the full amount to get the car back. I realized nothing had changed with the exhaust fumes and in fact the motor was making some new noises. I had this looked at and was explained how the fuel intake was not properly serviced. Aside from that, it ran ok. I still continued to ask for a service reports for several weeks after picking it up and would constantly get excuses from Tom. I think hes an owner. The shop number is forwarded to him directly. To this day, i havent received any explanation or any paperwork regarding the "work" that was done on the car. Ive been extremely patient and cordial for these past few months as i awaited a response from them. I'm quite surprised that this is how they run their business, which is why i wanted to write this review. For anyone considering to get any work done or just buying a classic car from them. It was a pleasant enough experience right up until they got their money. Earl was my salesman and he should be avoided at all cost because he will do absolutely nothing for you after they get their check. He doesn't listen when you tell him something. If he did listen he forgets right away. Either way you do not get what you need from him. The dealership, when you call in with a problem maybe you're having with their salesman there is no management team in place to deal with issues and the owner is absent now if these things are not true all I know is what Earl told me. This is the short version! I gaveMGM Classicsin Addison IL (Thomas) $35,000.00 to build a 1970 chevelle back in April, 2021. I could never, I mean never get Thomas to return my calls (except once he called accidentally and I have the recording). I have a whole lot of texts from him saying he's on vacation, he's at an auction, apparently his phone doesn't work to make calls when he's at auctions! After three months of trying to talk with him about my build on 9/20/23 I called again, then sent text saying Please, call me. His response " I am at an auction return the following week " I sent a text telling him how patient I've been and I can't think of any good reason why he won't return my calls or call me. 5 minutes later he texts me " we are currently working on cars, once we have it to the halfway point, we will contact you " I said are you working specifically on my car? He said yes. I said great, I still want to talk. That last statement is important because at the 1/2 way point I'm supposed to send him another $25,000.00. After giving some thought about this I'm like, why would I send this guy more money, how stupid would I be! Also, it's interesting that after all that has went on prior to this point, all of a sudden he says that work has now begun on my car. Think, about it? If you had someone that gave you a $35,000.00 deposit to build a car, wouldn't you call them and tell them that the work has finally begun. Instead of me inquiring and now you say while at an auction, the work has begun. Trying to buy time, perhaps? So on 10/30/23 I called him, and of course left message and then texted him to call me. His response " I am away from the dealership at an auction, I would like to answer any questions, can you please text them over. By the way, he's very polite via text. At this point, I've had enough, My text " I was a FF for almost 24 years and now retired. I was really looking forward to you building me this 1970 chevelle. This is what I know. 1. I gave you a deposit of $35,000.00 back in April of 2021 2. That you will not talk with me, still don't understand why 3. You are certainly not concerned about me as client This is what I believe is going on. I believe that you are not going to make any money building me a 1970 chevelle for $65,000.00. With the rising cost of pretty much everything. It's not worth it for you to do. You have been putting them up for sale ( new 1970 chevelle builds like the one I ordered except different Trans or Engine or w/o AC) on your website and I have pictures saved, for $75,000.00 or more. Believe me I understand. Plain and simple it comes down to money. And lastly, I don't trust you! I don't believe that you started building my car, and if you did, I don't believe that you would do the job well. I certainly am not going to give you any more money. I am not angry but this was supposed to be something special and it's anything but that! I want my deposit refunded to me. His text was that he is building the car, and it's at the 1/2 way point. But, that he will refund my money. In 40 days it's at the 1/2 way point. I went back through my texts and read a text saying that he had 2 more in front of mine to do. That text was dated April 15, 2022, which means it took him 17 months to build 2 cars, but all of a sudden in 40 days he has mine at the 1/2 way point. I don't trust him, I don't believe him, and I have a whole slew of texts promising this and promising that! So, all that and I finally received a payment of $5,000.00 in Feb. and a payment of $7,500.00 on March 11,2024. I haven't heard back from him since March 11, 2024. Balance he still owes me is $22,500.00. I live in Michigan, so it is not easy to find a lawyer in Chicago, there should be financial repercussions and really, criminal charges for his actions! This guy Thomas like I said is very polite via text, but he has lied to me repeatedly and apparently doesn't care about his clients or his reputation! This place is horrible, I go here to buy a car and I put down a deposit on the vehicle and they said it still needs to go through service which is understandable, I ask them if I can test drive it with the sales person and they say no, mind you this vehicle is only 24k. so the next day it goes through service and they tell me it only needs brakes and an oil change, I would have loved to get it look at by my mechanic before I bought it but I was an hour away from home, so I get the car a couple days later and get it looked at after I buy it, I come to find that both drive belts are dangerously cracking, 3/4 wheel hubs are visible loose when the vehicle is on a lift, all 4 tires are 15 years old and are super noisy, there have also been multiple warning lights when driving the vehicle, and this car is a 2001 so I get there is going to be some stuff that the vehicle needs. But what is the point of it going through service If they don't actually service it? Do not buy a vehicle from this place, you will end up spending thousands on repairs that they miss. read more

I purchased a car from them (or agreed to). I immediately went to my bank to wire the funds because i am a very serious buyer. When i was at the bank getting ready to wire the payment, they informed me that theres a $1206 fee. Now this fee wasnt for something expected like tax, title & tags. Because i was out of state. So i had to just pay for the vehicle. Then pay the tax, title tags in my state when i register it. And this fee was never discussed or mentioned prior. So i was of course upset with MGM & embarrassed at the bank in front of the teller. And very let down, as in "well i almost had the vehicle ive been searching for.. for 6 months now". I had to cancel due to the feeling of deception and (newly felt) lack of trust in my salesman. So i dont recommend this dealer. This place is a joke. I found a 1973 Camaro they have for sale but I am in a different city than them so I found auto shop that would look at it for me. MGM said they wont let their vehicles go out, a mechanic had to come there. The salesman or owner of MGM, not sure what he was, tells me they have mechanics that can come look at it. I told him no offense but I do not want to use one of THEIR mechanics. I found someone to go look at the Camaro a few days later and they salesman tells my guy that I need to call in and give my info, so I do that. The salesman tells me they don't let customers test drive their cars lol. I asked him "You are not going to let my guy or even me test drive your $46,000 car?! I just have to buy it as is no test drive?! Yep! What a F'ing joke. No wonder this place has such low ratings. Looked at their video from 7 months ago on a 2004 Cadillac XLR Nieman Marcus Edition. Car looked to be in great condition. Called and talked to SAM. Was told it was in great condition and everything worked on it. Purchased it and paid for them to transport it to our home. Upon receipt we found it was pretty trashed out. Had not been detailed and looked as if it had been sitting in a cow pasture for 7 months. Was not washed, had debris in trunk and under the hood. 2 large tears in the driver's seat, 2 really bad scratches on the roof, and other small scratches over all. Received no keys with our fobs! Can not utilize the function of using the key when the battery is dead to access the car, hood or trunk and the cover to the access area is missing on the back bumper. If battery dies we are SOL! Top does not raise and lower! Some type of leak under hood and behind back wheel on driver's side. Had it towed to Cadillac dealer and were told if the microchips in the hard top/convertible mechanism was no good, the car could not be repaired. Here's hoping the hydraulic fluid has leaked out and the microchips are OK. Have no idea how much more we will spend on it if it is even fixable. BEWARE of MGM Classis Cars in Illinois. read more

I leave this review only to help someone else from making the mistake I did. I bought a 67 chevelle November 23. They advertised the car at a price which we agreed to, after I made a decision to fly 1300 miles to pick up the car they raised the price $1500, they said for taxes. The addition was not for anything but additional profit for them. They agreed to have the car ready to drive. After flying there from Houston, they could not get the car started, jumped it and said "don't shut it off". To make a long story short the vehicle broke down on me the next day. Too many things wrong with it to list, but just to give you an idea, bought a new batter within hours of getting the car, the automatic choke was stuck closed, which they knew about because their answer to that was to set the idle adjustment up to 1500 RPM, (It should be about 850). Anyone who knows cars knows this fouled the plugs, which had to be change the day after purchasing. The car was not in time, and the harmonic balancer was 90 degrees off. So it was put on wrong when engine was tore down. Proof they never put a timing light on it. The car had headers, the bolts holding the headers on were so loose that you could take them out with your fingers without the aid of a wrench. Of course I knew I had an exhaust leak, and had to pull headers and install a quality gasket. You get the idea, these guys are liars and do not know cars very well. got my car at this place and happy what I got but got robbed by them . First time came to the shop on Saturday to look for the car I like , Jim pretty cool and show me around. When it come to finance it was too late to work with the banks. So they told me put down 500$ for deposit, that's okay with me . Week later on June 25 ,2023 I got approve and pick up the car. I have to come up 59.5k, I brought a cashier check 60k. So they own me 500$ deposit and 500$ Out of 60k They told me I can't get deposit back cause I have to buy car same say. Ridiculous I, if I buy car in the same day I don't have to put down the deposit. I keep call Jim but he came up with a excuses answer, I did send the invoice and the bank approval but still never returned my money back. Well, bad ass experience with this junk dealer. Even the reception lady told me on the day I came up with 60k that their own you 1k. These people are not honest & I would steer clear of them at all costs. If you absolutely need to purchase a car from them get an independently done inspection first. The car they sold me was not as advertised. I purchased a 65 mustang from them in April 2021, the ad featuring the car had a video, car looked and ran great in the video, pictures looked great. ad stated the car ran, clean underbelly. The car I received had a large crack in the hood of the paint that was clearly not visible in pictures or the video. the car was eat up with rust, even had holes in the trunk. the carburetor was pouring gasoline and the distributor was misfiring. It would not crank while on the trailer being delivered and did not even go 5 miles before it broke down. The ignition came out of the dash, the door lock came out of the door. This car was in very poor condition. When confronted I was told the car came as is & I was out of luck. It technically falls under the Illinois lemon law because the car technically has under 100K miles however I'm in Louisiana and don't feel like dealing with this. They did not disclose any issues the car had. They absolutely do not stand behind their cars and once the deal is done there is no customer service. Remember they are an AS IS business. There are other dealers that have return policies. I have bought several cars over the internet & they were all in the condition they were advertised to be. This car was not.
