I had a video call with Dr. R when I was pregnant (they told me it was required to meet the doctor before she can take my child as a patient) but they did not tell me they would bill my insurance for a physical. I have been trying to solve this issue with them (to see if they can change the coding) for almost year but it's going no where. On a side note Dr. R was great, but there are a lot of great pediatricians with better billing departments.

I can't say enough about Dr. Porter and her practice! My kids are 6 and 4 and we've been going to…read moreDr. Porter since my son was born. She, and her staff, are always available to listen, advise and help. They don't over or under medicate, they are kind, they don't send one to the ER at the drop of a hat, they provide a cell number that they answer directly at night (and into the morning). I can't say enough about how much anxiety and stress they have lifted from the job of being a parent. A recent example: my son has been coughing for weeks but has had no fever (summer cold). All of a sudden, he spike a big fever and is up all night. I call the cell number and get Dr. Porter on the way to drop her kids at camp. She tells me to call the office and bring my son in asap. We arrive at 8:30 and are seen by 8:45. They also take a look at my daughter. We left at 9:15 with a pneumonia diagnosis and medication at the CVS. Simple, no stress or worry about waiting with coughing kids in waiting room forever, no ER. I love Dr. Porter (and Dr. Chiang). My kids love her too and call her Dr. Popsicle. Who can argue with that?

I was so grateful to have Dr. Z come to my apartment to care for my newborn and me. Dr. Z is knowledgeable, kind, and flexible. The model of having the first two months of my child's care from home was so comforting- it allowed me and my baby to stay in the home and rest and heal after delivery. Meg from Tova health handled all the admin stuff. She made scheduling, paperwork, and setting-up the patient portal super simple. When it was time to transition beyond the first two months of care, Dr. Z and Meg helped us find the best pediatrician and make sure they had all our records. Awesome experience! Tova Health is the best!

I experienced a traumatic birth. One of the better things to come out of it (besides my daughter)…read morewas meeting Dr. Z. I was not able to get out of bed for over a week after the birth, so our first meeting was with her sitting at the foot of my bed. Thank goodness we chose her for my daughter's pediatrician because there was no way I would have been able to take her to an office. I really needed the fourth trimester care to help me process the trauma from birth, and Dr. Z let me cry and repeat the story over and over again. I'll never forget the time she hugged me and promised me something good would come out of it. She was also provided excellent care to my daughter. I will never forget our crazy first meeting and her kindness. She listened and provided me care when my own OB/GYN's office failed to do so. It is absolutely ludicrous the postpartum care we receive. This fourth trimester care model should be mandatory everywhere.

Dr. Mandell is kind & comforting; he always checks on the parents in addition to examining our baby. I highly recommend Pediatrics at 1180 & Dr. Mandell specifically.

I couldn't have had a better experience with Dr. Lavin. I called her (and actually talked to HER -…read morenot something you'd expect these days) a few weeks ago after finding her name on my insurance's website. At first, I didn't realize that she specializes in pediatrics, but she was happy to accept me as a patient, as I'm under 24yo. We discussed the vaccinations I needed for an upcoming trip and within a couple of days, her lovely assistant Linda called me to confirm all the details and have the vaccs ordered. Due to the winter storms, everything got backed up so Linda gave me a few recommendations for travel clinics. Meanwhile, as I dealt with that, Linda called to check in with me and make sure everything was going smoothly, which I greatly appreciated. Despite having the vaccinations elsewhere, Dr. Lavin still wanted to have me in for a physical and to discuss my travel plans. After a whole ordeal with getting the vaccinations yesterday, I called to say I wouldn't be able to make it to my 11am apt, but Dr. Lavin told me to come in whenever I could. The office was very easy to find - just a few blocks from Coolidge Corner in a large office building, on the third floor. I walked in and Linda and Dr. Lavin were incredibly happy to see me (even though I was at least 3 hours late!) After a few quick tests (height, weight, hearing) with Linda, I met with Dr. Lavin, discussed my medical history in detail, and had the physical. She took down every little detail and gave me some helpful suggestions based on my family's medical history. She explained that after years of working with a couple of local hospitals, she was tired of not having close relationships with her patients, which is why she decided to open her own practice. I wish there were more people/doctors like her out there! It's really refreshing to hear that with the state of medicine these days. I've really enjoyed the whole experience with Dr. Lavin and Linda and am very appreciative of everything they've helped me with in the last couple of weeks! I'll be back in a couple of months for bloodwork and will probably be upset when I become too old to be a patient anymore!

Our second child had some pretty serious health issues when she was a newborn and he called me at the hospital to check in every few days which meant a lot. We also love our NP Christine. You alternate seeing your Dr and NP so that two people get to know your kid and their health which I see as a positive. Yes the practice is definitely busy. You cannot just call and speak to your doctor specifically at the drop of a hat but the upside of a big practice is they have walk-in hours for sick kids 6 mornings a week so you are guaranteed to have someone look at your kid as long as you walk in the doors during that time. Its been so convenient to get kid seen (and then hopefully off to daycare and work). However whenever we have needed Dr. Amin to call us back he will as soon as he can. We have had a great experience with all of the doctors and nurses but we can highly recommend Dr. Ma as well since we have been seen by him many times during sick visits.
