When Mizar gently knocked at the door of my studio and shyly walked in right in the middle of my business meeting, people paid little attention to his invitation to join the new Cross-Fit gym which opened up in the same old textile manufacture building where we rented our studio. Little did I know that a couple of months later his influence on me would be somewhat Yoda-the-Jedi-Master like: strong, mysterious, charismatic and absolutely life changing.
Originally I joined Mizar's Cross-Fit because I supersized myself by surviving on sugar, tea and white raisin bread from Première Moisson during last couple of years. My tiny wife murmured something like "No six pack - no sex", and ... raise your hands who wants to mess with your wives?
So the original goal was very utilitarian.
But as I worked out my little goals, day by day, I started discovering that this whole thing draws me into something way bigger than I could even imagine.
"It's no moon... It's a battle station the size of a small moon".
Starting with having trouble doing 5 burpees and lifting 70 pounds, in less than 8 months I advanced to being able to do over 100. I could lift and bench press my own weight, lost quite a bit of fat and gained quite a bit of muscle weight, completely changed my diet, got a nickname "Beast" from my crossfit-mates and now live on no sugar, no carbs and carefully calculated MetaGenics food supplements.
Start as soon as possible with Mizar's Nutrition consultation.
It's an eye-opener and absolutely unskippable first logical step of this exciting journey.
Mizar as well as other coaches in his gym are magnets for positive thinking people and I am eternally thankful to all of them.
Everyone is super welcoming, high-fives all around, "Good job!" flies around the gym at the end of every class and when you say "Bye guys", you feel damn sure that everybody will be happy to see you again. It was true for me even when I was an oversized beginner level first comer.
I've been to couple of other crossfit gyms - this spirit is not easy to find. read more
