Hi, I subscribed to…read morethis gym 2 year ago, and the environnement was ok, although the business had everything to go big ( great quality equipement, plenty of space, classes). Last year, a new owner came.. and then the 'real' fun began: Lots and lots of athletic equipement (such as grass...like really?!! sooo coool!! You can sprint in that gym now.Also, the vibe shifted, as the strong owner and new team share strong passion, hardworking, strong unity convictions, wich has lad (in my opinion) to one of the most positive plac to train). The staff is very friendly, approchable (special wink to the male receptionnist ), and the place is clean.The team also reinvented the original website, and regularly connect with the members, wich is great! We have the opportunity to express our opinions and thoughts, it's just an overall very ''family feeling''. One thing that may bother some ladies: there 's a L-O-T of men..(the ratio men vs women is ridiculously high), so it might be intimidating at first. PS: I'm a lady, but I don't car about boy's looking at me whil I train, gringe and yell..I just do my thing in order to be stronger, fitter and get the SH** done!! :)

Cleanliness: Excellent. General area for training is clean. Facilities: Girl bathroom is impeccable. showering area is clean. Lockers available. Bring your own lock. Equipment is awesome and well kept up. Enough equipment that waiting is non-existent. Here comes the best part. The staff are real professionals and keep you motivated during the cross fit classes. Other people in the group participate and help. This is an upbeat place to go with real professionals, where you can train hard, hurt a lot and have huge fun. So for just a little more than the big chains, this place has the added bonus of excellent training, giving you good form for the many movements that will probably last you a lifetime and a huge motivational kick to stay in shape. Parking is a little difficult, but the trick is that there is some more parking behind the facility.

I found this place on Trip Advisor and decided to check this place out since it was near my hotel…read more It is an old looking climbing gym and was pretty empty when I got there. Apparently, they expanded the gym so the layout is a little weird, kind of like a maze. Since I didn't go with a climbing partner, I was only able to boulder, which I needed to get accredited first. That took about 20 minutes to get introduced to the gym and bouldering safety. Unlike the climbing gyms in the U.S., you need to bring your own rope or rent a rope if you want to top rope or lead climb. The rating system for bouldering is by letters instead of V#s, but it didn't really matter since the writing on the tapes had smudged off so you don't know what you're climbing besides the two easiest colored routes, white and blue. The main bouldering section is this huge rock formation in the center of the gym. Topping off can be a little intimidating since it does go very high and seems very reachy. I wish I could have tried rope climbing here, but I'm not sure if I'll be back to this climbing gym.

I had a mango, banana, peach, and orange smoothie with some in-house energy balls (peanut butter, chia seeds, coconut oil, whey protein, some other delicious goodies to keep me going) - Staff is so friendly and welcoming! - An area with exercise equipment, rings (my favorite!) and huge campus boards!! - The problems are set very well. I very much enjoyed the diversity of route-setting that ranged from technical to dynamic/power moves. Everything was set very well! I also appreciate that many of the problems involved slopers and less crimpy moves that often kill my fingers. After 3.5 hours of climbing and a night of rest, my fingers still work as i type this review up (but my forearms...) Things I didn't like: - Beta bloc is a bouldering haven, but unfortunately the facility has no rope climbing. - I noticed a few holds were just a little wiggly up top. It doesn't affect the climbing, but I can imagine a less experienced climber may be bothered by that. - Perhaps the addition of a moon board if demand arose would be nice.. When I first walked in, I was warmly greeted by an ultra nice girl behind the counter who checked me in, gave me the "low down" of the place, and gave me a parking pass for free parking. I was then introduced to Holly, the instructor - great greeting, a handshake, and a little friendly banter. Not to mention - she is a visual version of fitness and what a spin instructor looks like to me. The class started - can I just tell you as an instructor myself for more than twenty years - the teaching and level of instruction was beyond amazing, and very high level! Holly's class was one of the best classes I've taken in the all my years - so impressed by her motivation, her uplifting voice, and amazing personality on the mic. Again - a beyond amazing instructor - one of the best I've encountered. Too bad she'll be leaving there at the end of the month Highly recommend Bcycle in Westmount! Great spin studio!

I was skeptical at first about joining a spinning gym as someone who has never been to one, but I…read moream really glad my first experience was with Spinco! I took their introductory pass ($50 for 2 weeks unlimited) at the end of 2021. I don't believe they have this introductory package currently (March 2022) but I strongly recommend it to any other first time users if this becomes available again! All of the instructors are incredibly supportive, warm and inviting, and I love the energy of the community of each class that I take at Spinco. At first I thought it was a bit cult-y but I think after my 7th class, I might have become part of the 'cult'! Located conveniently in the heart of old port, they offer many lunch time classes as well as early morning (before work) and evening classes (for after work) as well as weekend classes. Many classes have themes which are fun and they have one class per week (on Friday evenings) where it is only $10 for the class and all proceeds are donated to different charitable organizations. Spinco is definitely not cheap (around $22 per drop in class), but the community is very warm and motivating (great for people of all experience/fitness level). I have since gotten several of my girlfriends and my boyfriend to join me for classes. The only thing to note is that parking is not the easiest in this area, so give yourself ample time to find parking before class if you plan on driving!

You get a lot at LeGym for what you pay…read more During the Summer, Fall, and Winter semesters - Concordia students pay $60 Staff, Faculty, Alumni pay $120 Public pays $150 Depending on when you buy your membership (ie. at the start of the semester or the middle), the price gets adjusted according to whatever remains of the semester. The trainers are friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable. They charge $25/hour, and if you have exceeded 30 training sessions, then it becomes $20/hour. The space is not the largest, but good enough, providing all the weight training and cardio equipment you may need. To be exact, 10,000 square feet of training space, with 75 up-to-date cardio machines, and 75 strength stations. It is not constantly jam-packed, but does have its peak hours. They also provide a towel service, and have made the vicinity wheelchair accessible. The gym is in the perfect location for those who live and/or work downtown, study and/or teach at Concordia, and use the Guy-Concordia metro often. It is also in the ideal location to find a quick bite before or after your workout. There are a variety of classes offered too, ranging from yoga to pilates, martial arts to kick-boxing, and many, many others. They last for about a month and a half at a time, and incur a separate charge. To me, this is one of LeGym's downfalls, as I wish it provided full access to classes, as well as the gym's facilities. Despite this, however, you still get great quality for what you're paying. I'm a regular and I love it here.

There is also a lot of squat racks, machines, pull up bars, a nice dumbbell area, and for people who enjoy indoor cardio there are plenty of cardio machines. But there is only two benches for bench press. The fact that it's so awesome and so well located is also the cause of it's worst inconvenience: past 3-4 pm (and even as early as 7am) the weight section will be crowded, all of the squat racks and the bench press stations will be used. So you have no choice to work in with someone else, which is inconvenient as you are usually using a different poundage, or a different exercise. In those cases you have to strip and put back the weights on non-stop. So there you go; if you enjoy all the perks (and the low price I didn't mention earlier), and you don't mind sharing a bar with one or two other lifter, this is a good place to build an impressive physique or reach a new strength level.

There is signage, but with multiple different looooooong hallways and stairwells, and multiple changing rooms, you're bound to take a wrong turn from time to time. Thankfully the staff are all friendly and helpful and don't hesitate to point you in the right direction. Although I haven't made use of it yet, in signing up for a class you need to purchase a yearly membership card (pretty standard), that entitles you to free swim. Nice! They seem to have lots of different options, from a monthly free for as many classes as you want, to weight room and cardio machine use for a few, to individual classes. I like that there are multiple options for people who don't necessarily want the whole shebang.

The pool is surprisingly uncrowded for the morning swim. Judo, gymnastics, swimming classes for kids have been great.
