I gassed up my car and a brutally cold and windy night, and should have faced the other direction! I went inside to warm up and found kind customer service and clean bathrooms. This "Truck Stop" also has a restaurant on premises (Red Bird Diner) which looked pretty busy when I stopped in yesterday for gas. I guess this place is a hit with the rural locals. Shell has more modern stations out there and judging by the number of pumps, there sure were a lot of diesel nozzles available. On the gasoline side, I was one of 2 or 3 other cars. One was from Iowa with a cute Lab in the back, while another was from Wisconsin and decked out in Packer's gear. I had to go inside for a receipt, which I found to be a bit dark and tchotchke homey. Anyway, the bottom line for me was that I filled up the tank, topped it off, and was able to return the rental car at the Kansas City Airport while it still read full. I'd like to say that this was good planning on my part......
