Not sure why this is so lowly rated, but it was a great experience going here on a Saturday early afternoon for a quick lunch. I got the chicken shawarma wrap, which you can customize and I did. There's a lot of variety to choose from and can't really ask for anything better in the moment. The flavors were good, the service was quick and prompt, it ended up being $13.50 after tax for two people. The restrooms were clean and there's plenty of parking out front. I like the ability to customize your bowl with all the toppings that tantalize your tastebuds!! My go to's are the arugula as my greens, white rice, eggplant, pickled onions, crumbled feta and the list goes on and on!! Just know no matter what you top it with it's bound to be delicious!! The more colorful the better!! This location is slightly bigger than most as it occupies what used to be a bank!! There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating!! They keep this location clean too which was an added plus!! Just one word of advice, when you walk in, go to your left to get in the line to order! This was our second visit to Mezza. The first time was good but our choice of ingredients did not turn out to be the best mix. This time we did far better with our selections, but we encountered several other non-food-related issues which really impacted our dining experience. We started out by making the mistake asking the person waiting on us about our food options. We quickly discovered that none of the three people working in the restaurant could speak English - not one of them. Oddly enough, there's literally no menus or other information on any wall so you invariably have to ask for some guidance from the staff. Unfortunately, they are NO help. After the second or third try they finally figured out that we wanted to see a menu and gave us a small laminated one. Apparently one of two they have in the entire store. My wife chose a wrap and I chose a bowl. The ingredients were just as good, colorful and tasty as last time. Just don't ask what something is. They won't understand your question and you won't understand their answer. I finally picked one meat which I think was shredded lamb. When the lady put a couple of tablespoons of meat in my bowl and started to move on, I asked if I could have a bit more. She paused for a moment or two, and then added a LOT more. I was pleasantly surprised until I saw the bill. I was charged for TWO extra portions of meat at $4 each - $8 MORE for my already $11.65 bowl. My wife wanted to go back and protest our being charged for two extra portions point but I asked her, how could we begin to argue the point when they don't speak English. When we went to sit down we found that there were no clean tables in the entire restaurant. (When we went to leave we found that the trash can was overflowing and dishes were stacked all around it.) After sampling my dish, I wanted some salt which is not on the tables. It took me several minutes to explain to one of the employees that I would like some salt. He kept looking through utensil containers looking for who knows what. (Wouldn't you think that people working in a restaurant - even in a foreign country - would have learned a few restaurant-related terms, like... salt?) Mezza is in the middle of a suburban American Shopping Center and they don't know the word, salt. Our food was much better this visit but I don't normally go out to eat knowing that I am going to be faced with the challenge of figuring out how to communicate with the staff. Normally the restaurant management knows it is THEIR responsibility to be able to communicate with their customers. I absolutely love this place! It's similar to a chipotle style restaurant but Mediterranean. They have so many options and the food is really fresh. The restaurant is really clean and bright inside. My daughter and I have been wanting to try this for a while now. We were impressed as soon as we walked in the door. We were immediately greeted and started looking over the menu but were undecided on what we wanted. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and guided us to the steak shawarma and the spring chicken bowl. We also got some baklava and for drinks we went with strawberry dragonfruit. This was our first time eating anything like this and we were not disappointed, the flavors with all the different ingredients complemented each other so well. If you are looking for a fried fatty oversized greasy experience this is not it. This food is actually nutritious and the portions are appropriate for someone with a normal BMI. Great place for us vegans!! Veggie kefta and falafel are amazing in this place. The food is fresh. It is a middle eastern version of a bowl bar. They are very similar to many customizable bowl places where you choose a base, a protein, and all the toppings your heart desires. They do have options for wraps, but they provide a quarter piece of pita on the side when you order a bowl, and I made a small wrap which I enjoyed. I always get falafel as my protein, but I was excited to see that they had a vegetable kefta based on a traditional meat kefta ball. I was so glad that I got them on the side to try, as they were delicious. The service was excellent, and they were ready to answer any questions you had. They had menus before you order, but honestly, I know some people may hate me, but I like just going up and seeing how everything looks. My wife and I just had the very worst experience at a Mezeh location (Lakeridge, VA). Today was the first day of their Summer Bash Bowl promotion (get a $5 bowl with the purchase of a house drink). We have eaten at this location many times beforeore, but this time although fully staffed for the popularity of this promotion and the ling line of patrons waiting, the overall attitude of each server on the line was horrible. They felt like a half spoonful (in most cases less than that) of the various selection was adequate - even when we asked for a little bit more of the tebuleh, kooskoos, or cucumber their demeanor and response was 'no that's it there are a lot of people in line' - it looked like they didn't prepare enough food for this evening rush, so the solution was to reduce the anount being served. Where normally the bowl would have been at least a full bowl with toppings like spicy hummus or the snug sauce, my wife and I both left with less than 2/3 of a bowl. When we received our drink containers and went to fill our drinks - there was no ice, the house drinks were not cold and we had to ask for a substitute can of cold soda - that ended up being luje warm soda as compensation. There was one employee who apologized for the disorganized and less than friendly customer service and said we could make a complaint online with the Mezeh Corporate Office - mind you all of this could have been addressed by a competent manager, but the one who attended to us had a worse attitude than the servers on the line. I was paying for our meal waiting for the screen to change to confirm my payment when she cleared the screen and did a manual promt of my receipt without so much as a word on what she was doing. When I told her I had not had a chance to pront my receipt, she said I've already done it but the receipt took another minute or so to print out. The conditions in the location were hot, no ventilation and I couldn't tell if it was the spices in the food or the overwhelming body odor from the number of patrons in line. I'm sure this all contributed to the work environment for the service staff. Not a viable excuse, but really was the most disappointing experience at Mezeh since we started patronizing this location and the franchise over four years ago. I definitely don't recommend going to this location, and will attempt the other one near Potomac Mills Mall on our next visit - it could very well have been just this location for this experience. We definitely won't be returning to this location and if the service and attitude doesn't change - closing it down would be a positive for the franchise if they don't do some customer service training or prep for promotions in advance . read more

Turkish salad, spicy hummus, cilantro hummus, Lebanese tabbouleh, Israeli couscous, roasted corn, spicy feta, lemon mint carrots, roasted vegetables, cherry tomatoes, & pickled onions as the toppings. Tzatziki, S'hug, harissa, & spicy mango as the sauces. This combo definitely carries heat but the flavor profiles are so immense. TLDR : It's okay and it was meant to be 3 and half stars but Yelp doesn't have half :) I went today for the first time and I order a Bowl with Mixed greens plus two choices of proteins. I picked veggie kefta and chicken shawarma. I also add some of roasted eggplants, turkish salad, israeli couscous etc. The dressings was not enough to coat all the ingredients but again, this is my first time I couldn't say anything about it. We have Cava Table in the area but I also understand there are quite a lot of difference in the menu but as far as chicken shawarma which both places has. While at Cava or Cava Table, their chicken shawarma has more flavor and aroma to it, Mezeh may has their on signature that I didn't order today ( probably ). Their veggie kefta is good and I will order it again by itself if I visit again. Non food review, the staff was pretty nice and the indoor seating and outdoor seating was nice and clean as well. For some people it might not necessary but I've always count on cleanliness no matter what. After first trying Mezeh before COVID at their Springfield Mall location, I've been really wanting to return and I was so happy to see that they were opening up one in Lake Ridge! So, they recently soft opened and I got a chance to visit today. The manager seemed rather friendly and we really liked the decor. The staff working to assemble the bowls didn't seem to have much training, they were constantly being coached by him as they were working. Additionally, I notice that a few of the sauces had skinned over and had some discoloration to them, but it was 11:30AM when we visited, so they had just opened up and everything should have been extremely fresh... Odd! I sure hope they're not keeping stuff from the night before, not a good way to open up a new place and get off on the right foot. But I will say that between this chain and the other chain (whose name starts with a "C" and ends with an "A" and is only 4 letters long)... Mezeh has it allllll over them! Flavors are more robust and they give you unlimited dips/sauces here! I'll definitely be back.... Hopefully they will improve as they train and tweak their new restaurant and staff. read more

Sigh....I love Mezeh and was excited for this one to open up in Lake Ridge, but unfortunately, while the taste was there, the amount of ingredients I received was pathetic. I asked for roasted veggies and found 2 pieces of veggies in my whole wrap, as well as pita strips and I only found 1 tiny pita strip. I've included pics of both. I would definitely recommend avoiding online ordering for now. They didn't have a good system for it, and it was up to the manager to grab my order ticket to give to an employee to make well after my pick up time. Meanwhile, those walking in to order at the restaurant came and went while I still waited. Plus, this will ensure you actually receive a fair amount of ingredients you order, since apparently that can't blindly be trusted right now. Tbh, being that they just opened, I can forgive the waiting. The manager did seem to be working hard and my interactions with him were friendly, but the lack of ingredients and leaving me hungry after my dinner are not acceptable. I even tipped on my order to add insult to injury. It takes very little training to know that what you served me isn't a reasonable amount. I've never had this issue at other Mezeh's. I'm glad that Mezeh has finally found it's way to the Woodbridge/Lake Ridge area since the options have been getting a little stale in my opinion. I've been waiting on that notification. that they were open for months so when I got it, I jumped on the first chance. We placed a pickup order for dinner on Saturday and we got a Veggie Turkish Pide (new item), and a create your own bowl with Chicken Shawarma. The bowl was pretty consistent with what I've had at the other locations, the chicken was flavored, all the toppings tasted fresh, and the portion was big. I do wish I had the side pita with it but It's only been open for a couple of days so not a big deal. The Veggie Pide, like a type of flatbread, tasted really good. There were a lot of toppings and it could make two meals for my girlfriend. I will definitely be coming back a lot since its so close to my place and I love all the options they provide. read more

I used to love this place and location when it first opened but got food poisoning recently from a meal that was incorrectly labeled. We ordered ahead and picked it up, the salad didn't look like the one I ordered as I was eating a few bites. I noticed the tag with my name was stapled on top of another receipt that wasn't mine. Maybe they mixed up the order, not sure but have no clue how long that food had been sitting on the shelf. I've gone in to order directly only to see some of the younger staff using the same gloves they ring up the orders with, to package up the food. Hello folks, if your looking for the most "bang" for your bucks. This is NOT the place. It's a real shame too. The décor and idea of the establishment is wonderful. The flavors are mostly on point as well, however the portion control is RIDICULOUS! We have been told that eating healthy is expensive, right, well at this place that is their moto. I couldn't believe the price for the portion you receive. First off, the utensils they use to add the menu items you want are the size of baby spoons. I asked for the grilled corn to be added, and I counted 15 pieces, seriously! My wife and I are under 5' 7" and are fit individuals. So it's not like we gorge when we eat. After spending $30.00, for both our meals. We had to go next door to Chipotle and share one of their bowls between us. Now I could of nagged the lady who was building my bowl when ordering, but I'm not one who likes to "kill the messenger", per say. They have to be told to skimp, I mean the ownership has them using baby spoons to prevent any over giving of ingredients. The workers are just doing what they have been told. I love Mezeh and was so excited to see one in the local area. Arrived to take out an order around 6:45. Left at 7:02. They still have quite a bit to figure out. For example, building the entree- instead of having personnel posted in each section to take on the next portion of a customers order - one person will help you the whole way through but that means customers are too close trying to look at the offerings and the personnel are bumping into each other trying to get food. Also, online orders are piling up, you can just see the receipts stacking on each other. I don't think they have enough people designated or hired just yet. Especially with the upcoming offer they have- A free bowl on Thursday 04 March. They're gonna be packed. Otherwise the customer service was good, the ambience is nice and the food was delicious. What a joke! Was so excited for this place to open. The staff SUCK! Went in @ 9pm -- they close at 10pm -- and as the girl prepared our food, she scraped out what little was left of the rice and put it in our bowls. When I asked her to get more rice, she said, "No." When I asked her colleague to make more, he also refused. I told him that the place was open until 10 and that they had another hour on the clock. We left because of their unprofessional behavior and took about seven big burley men out with us. I told the guys behind me in line that they were out of rice and refusing to make more. Everyone got mad and left. I hope we cost them over a hundred bucks. Like us, I hope these people never return. I asked the staff why it's too hot but was told A/c is not working? Ordered our first meal from Mezeh as a pickup order on a Friday night. The mobile ordering went pretty smoothly and we were excited to try a new spot. The idea of creating a bowl was appealing and the options were plentiful. Unfortunately, the pickup process was a bit of a disaster. We arrived at the time we indicated and ended up waiting almost 30 minutes past that point for our food. They were not busy with dine-in/walk-in patrons and seemed to be struggling with getting the large number of pick up orders ready to go. Watching the employees fluster around the kitchen area, bumping into each other, leaving pick up bags out of reach behind the counter instead of on the shelves meant for such orders, was frustrating to say the least. I've been here several times now. You could compare it to chipotle as a "build your meal assembly line" type of restaurant. If you enjoy Mediterranean food then this is a great place to go with reasonable prices. The first time I went, I had no idea what to order, so I just asked one of the staff to make what they thought would be good, and it was excellent. The staff is quick, and they aren't overly friendly, which is perfectly fine with me and almost preferable with the pace that they need to work at, plus it lets you get in and out quickly without all of the fake niceties. read more
