I had the opportunity to check out The Lincoln theater for the Pancakes and Booze Art Show, one of…read morethe largest pop-up art exhibition events. There were 100+ local artists showing over 500 pieces of art. They had free pancakes. There was alcohol for purchase at Lincoln theater bar. The staff here were pleasant, attentive and welcoming. The Lincoln theater was not the best venue for this event but they did the best with would they had. The space seems most ideal for the concerts and for standing but was very difficult maneuvering around freely. Needed more physical space to consume and fully appreciate the art. I enjoyed engaging with all of the artist. One of my favorites that was an extreme stand out was Ankit Nagar. Many of Ankit's pieces were so calming and the colors spoke to me. I do recommend the Art Show. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. I enjoy Art. I purchase prints whenever I feel moved but I have yet to be able to obtain original Art. That's a goal of mine.

I've been to Red Hat before but my first time attending for a concert. Parking (in the deck across…read morethe street) and getting in was near flawless! Fast and easy. Even with lines, they are efficient in screening people and scanning tickets. They keep people moving. And the staff is just pleasant!! From the entrance of the venue, to the food station, to exiting after the show everyone was just nice! Makes a big difference. Stopped by the drink and food station. Got fries, wine and water for two of us. That was $70+ dollars!!! I'm still very confused by that. It is expected that venue concessions will be a bit expensive but 2 waters and 2 cans of wine should not have totaled $58. The fries were nicely cooked though. The seating. We were pretty close and had really good seats as far as proximity to the stage. The issue is the seats are SUPER close together and small so it gets uncomfortable because you are all up on people, particularly those you don't know. Also, the rows aren't spacious either so it is a hassle if someone in the middle of the row is constantly getting up and leaving and coming back. The venue itself is nice. Amazing view of the city in the background and honestly there isn't really a bad seat in the house unless you end up behind the sound booths. The weather was perfect and not too hot but I would've hated it had it been hotter. There isn't an awning or any cover for shade. If you go in the heat of the summer (especially in NC) be prepared for it (hydrate, reduce alcohol, bring a fan, light dress) and be mindful of your seating selection although you won't be able to avoid the sun. I'd return to that venue, with some preparation adjustments on my end.

Came here for a show recently and had a good time…read more I had a lawn ticket and was too cheap to rent a chair or blanket or anything like that, so I stood up most of the time :) I was in maybe the worst possible location (far right near the back of the lawn) but I could see the stage reasonably well and the audio was solid. On the negative side, the drinks were insanely expensive at $19 for a big can of "craft beer" (or $18 for the standard domestic options). Hot dogs were priced relatively reasonably at $5 each, but they were pretty gross. I should probably take off another star for these offenses but I guess I kind of expected it :) Parking is pretty easy since there are a bunch of parking decks nearby, and I think you can also find street parking. I did end up paying $10 to park in the Cabarrus Deck, but whatever. Overall, I would come back here to see a show, but I would definitely try to eat (and drink) beforehand.

Great to have a Downtown Theater in Cary finally. It has been refurnished and has a variety of…read moreshows at very reasonable prices. The website is difficult to find and does not have much information about shows or the Theater. Town of Cary needs to improve their marketing on the web by getting a easy to remember URL for the Cary Theater and provide a strong presence with facebook, twitter, and other accounts that market their many great facilities in Cary, Parking could be better as well with food options and activities to do around the location within walking distance.

I invited a good friend who lives locally and enjoys the town's events, tonight I discovered why. Tickets were affordable at $7 with tax. Several poets and music artists came out to showcase their talents and it was well enjoyed. The popular triangle R&B band NIITO performed live and really tore the house down with their cover songs. This event was well organized and seating was plentiful. We grabbed balcony seats and really enjoyed having our own space away from the crowd. While parking is not plentiful, there are still a few lots and street parking to take advantage of. Come early, leave happy. I look forward to more events and possibly seeing a film here in the future.

There is a hidden gem within the William and Company space. Walk through the curtain to the back…read moreroom and patio, known as La Veladora and you will feel like you have left Raleigh and been transported to a super classy cocktail bar unlike any other. The vibe and atmosphere are so unique, the staff are amazing, and the music is fantastic. We hosted a party there and it couldn't have been better! Highly recommend.

Went and saw four amazing jazz ladies performing this past weekend....Lovely quaint location but…read moregreat acoustics and great singers and performers, many of which are legends in our area on this show...Also got a little snack and a drink while there and the staff was friendly and definitely hoping to make some return trips..definitely glad I went.....Some pictures on the wall and some basic but classy decor..while I was there they were honoring Dr Cicely Mitchell, a true Music Pioneer here in the area as well........Definitely hoping to return back...

You feel like you transported, just for a short while to NYC with live jazz music ranging from local jazz combos to famous ensembles that come from Chicago, Boston, NYC, New Orleans, Miami and from international locations. It is as authentic of a small jazz listening room as you can get, and we have been lucky to have it right here in Durham for many years now. The bar service is fantastic as well and so is a small selection of curated wine, beer and small snacks. If you love jazz, this is a place to visit and enjoy for a date night, friends hangout or just for a solo listening experience.

But beyond the perks, I've genuinely been blown away by the talent, the sets, the lighting, and the overall production quality. The cast members are phenomenal, and the passion they bring to the stage is palpable. It truly feels like you're witnessing professional-grade theatre in an intimate community space. The experience is super comfortable too; concessions are available at great prices, the bathrooms are always clean, and the venue is accessible for those with vision or hearing needs, which really shows their commitment to being inclusive. Whether you're looking to volunteer or just catch a great show, Raleigh Little Theatre is an absolute gem. 10/10 Highly recommend!

Raleigh Little Theatre is one of the oldest theatres in the United States. It became incorporated…read morein 1936. The building is on land that was once the home to the North Carolina State Fairgrounds for a horse racing dirt track. In World War I, it was used as a training area for combat tanks. It is also land for the Lumbee Tribe and the Tuscarora Nation. Raleigh Little Theatre shares a campus with the Raleigh Rose Garden and an outdoor amphitheatre. The main stage was dedicated to Cantey V. Sutton in 2000, as she was the one who found Raleigh Little Theatre a permanent campus in 1939. She got a grant to build the campus and cut through the red tape. She is remembered as the "Grand Dame" and "First Lady" of Raleigh Little Theatre. Raleigh Little Theatre has three theatres, the Cantey V. Sutton theatre, which has 298 seats. The Louise "Scottie" Stephenson Amphitheatre, which seats 2000 on the outside on the terraced grass rows. And the Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre, a black box theatre that seats 150. I attended School of Rock at RLT. The performance was held in the Sutton Theatre, which has 298 seats, and the auditorium has a small slope. I found the sightlines good for watching the performance, as well as the sound and lighting. I did find the seating challenging as the seat numbers were not clearly marked, just the rows. I sat in the wrong seat and had to move. But I liked my new seat much better. As I was not familiar with the layout and had bought my ticket months ago, it would have been helpful to have volunteers in the theatre to assist guests, as many of us were confused. Parking was a little challenging for this performance because a downed tree and power lines had closed the parking lot, so off-street parking was the only option. The lobby was small, with some seating, restrooms and a concession stand that only takes credit cards. Drinks could go in the theatre, but not the food. I did like that we could go outside at intermission and sit on the benches. Overall, I give Raleigh Little Theatre a solid 4 stars. The production quality, acoustics, and historic atmosphere are easily 5-star material, but the seating confusion and lack of usher assistance held it back from being a perfect 5. It is a fantastic community asset, and I will definitely be back!

We attended for the first time for Amber Autry's comedy show - WHAT A BALL! We had such a good…read moretime! The comedy space with intimate, high energy, and easy to navigate. I had my expectations low for service and food but I was happily mistaken! They had a robust menu for appetizers and entrees. I got a chicken Cesar salad wrap and it was surprisingly 10/10! The server was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. I would go back just for that. We return in another month or two and we can't wait! Accessible bathroom and easy parking!

Came here recently for a kids' show and had an OK time…read more First, Google Maps was telling us to take a very different route than the one we ended up taking by following the street signs directing us to Koka Booth Ampitheatre. Maybe we were being directed to the front of the venue instead of the parking lot? Anyway, not sure if we would have ended up in the same place, but just a word of caution :) We arrived shortly before the start of the show and I was pretty shocked at the traffic. We waited in line for a long time before realizing that we were in the "preferred parking" line (where we'd have to pay $15) instead of the free parking that was a bit further away. Since we didn't want to be late, we paid for the parking :) There were plenty of free spots available, so that was nice. The walk to the ampitheatre was actually really nice and shaded with big tall trees. There was a front large lawn area and then a covered seating area with tables and chairs set up behind it. There were a ton of people, especially on the lawn, but we snagged a table in the corner and had a decent view of the stage. I was then sent off to grab popcorn for the family. They had a bunch of different lines for concessions, which included a variety of snacks and drinks, including beer :) Hurray! My line moved pretty slowly and I had to wait for fresh popcorn to be made, so it took maybe 15 to 20 minutes to actually get my food and get back to my family. The show sounded OK - I think it was a little quiet, but there were kids present so that kind of makes sense. I think it would have been nice to have screens so that people who were sitting far away could see the performance better. We left shortly before the end of the main set (our son was getting tired and/or bored) and traffic was fine getting out. Overall, it was an OK time. Parking was a little stressful and it felt a little hectic inside. I'd maybe come back here to see a performance if I was super into the artist, but I don't think the venue itself is really a draw.
