Read the 1 star reviews! This was a one time learning experience for me. I wasted 2 hours of my time yesterday, only to walk out with no cleaning. I was told I needed a "deep cleaning," Dr. Tran probed my gums, going tooth by tooth calling out numbers, and the pointed sharp instrument that irritated my gums. I have NEVER had a cavity. My oral health has been extremely good my entire life. I don't recall any deep cleanings, and I have had my teeth cleaned twice a year for as long as I can remember- going back to childhood. Dr. Tran refused to "approve" a regular dental cleaning for $59 as advertised. He indicated that he was somehow not ethically able to approve a regular cleaning when a deep cleaning is required. While I was waiting/ wasting more time on a young woman to return with price information, I called my regular dentist's office. I've been going to this excellent dentist for over a decade. However, he's out of network, so he"s more expensive for me, and I am between dental plans right now. In dentistry, you pay for what you get. I asked my regular dentist's open, honest, ethical assistant if I ever had deep cleanings, and she said "only one small area." I do not recall even charged extra for the area. My dentist never presented me with a lengthy dental cleaning bill. Look at my attachments. Examine the advertisement- with no "exceptions" listed at all. Read the lengthy, legalistic contractual style itemized bill they were pressuring me to pay instead of actually practicing patient care. TWO HOuRS in this office without going over my X-rays or receiving a cleaning, This is coming from a woman over 50 who has never had a cavity in her entire life. Caveat emptor! read more

Improvements: Try clarity with pricing and honesty with procedures. Stop pushing the $1000 cleaning, scaring, everyone about their teeth falling out with just the normal cleaning covered by insurance. Staff can be snippy if you ask questions. The actual dentist was very nice but the work was mediocre, at best. The surprise additional bills were the final straw. read more

They billed my insurance for $1474 for an exam and X-rays for my daughter which seems ridiculous. Their total estimate for the work was over $12,000 for a 20 year old who has never even has a cavity before now and has been getting her teeth cleaned every 6 months since the age of 3. Needless to say, we will be getting a second opinion. Also they didn't even clean her teeth which was the reason for the appointment to begin with! All they did was present her with a "treatment plan" for $12,000 for a couple of fillings, removing permanent retainer, X-rays and repairs to 2 teeth that are supposedly grinded down from clenching mouth in her sleep and a night guard. I never write bad reviews but our experience with Modern Dentistry - Meyerland TX deserves more than a lousy review ( should be zero stars): My son - 18 years old- books a cleaning appointment: Mom goes with him: Even having scheduled an appointment, they keep him waiting 3 hours! For a simple no nonsense cleaning before going back to school. Then they pressure him into some extensive cleaning treatment - which is absolutely a no go and completely unprofessional ... mom paid the office fee of $100 ( see promo photo below)... then they bill insurance company $1000 from what I was told when I called their office.. then they send my son a $595.00 bill which we challenged- no reply: then they sent him to collections: then we called the collections company and sorted out a payment just to get rid of this outfit!! Still over paid to settle my son's nerves of being hounded by collection agency: what a joke ... this is the medical insanity we live in - no wonder Insurance costs are out of control : and even paying for good insurance doesn't help the cause ... Crown on my front upper tooth snapped off, taking most of my tooth with it. I found Modern Dentist through my insurance and they fit me in right away. Dr. Phung had to surgically remove my tooth and it wasn't easy. Thankfully he took his time and explained every step to me so my anxiety went way down. I felt no pain throughout my time there, and I spent 5 hours in the chair that day. I also had to have laser treatment to infected pockets around a root canal I'd had done a year previously . I knew there was something amiss there but no other dentist did the test Dr. Phung ordered , but because of it I was treated successfully. I walked out of the office that very day with my teeth cleaned, laser treatment which ended chronic discomfort I had suffered since having a root canal done and a temporary bridge in so I could smile again. I've returned since that day and got my gorgeous permanent bridge put in. I have terrible dental insurance and they worked with me, giving me an in-house, no interest payment plan I can manage and didn't make me feel bad about it. I want to specifically thank Deisi, (she's wonderful) and Dr. Phung, who is believe is THE best dentist I have ever had. And at 67 years old, I've had quite a few. Stephany was also great and Mia who is a financial wizard. Meyerland Modern Dentistry lives up to their name and earned every star I gave them. I am so glad to have found them! read more

If you're looking for a very professional and courteous dentist looked no further than Meyerland Modern Dentistry. This Office has some great people working here! All smiles and positivity from the time you step in tell the time you leave. Yesterday was my second time getting work done here. The check-in process was so easy, and painless, I would personally thank Marisa and Mia for that!! Then there was only a short wait to start the completion of getting my permanent crown placed. I have a thing against the Dentist office but Dr. Singh and DA Evelyn made a great first impression on me during my first visit. During my follow up visit I was super delighted when Evelyn make here way to the front to start this visit with me as well. Dr. Singh walked into the room and asked how I was feeling, she let me know what the next steps were and with in about 30 minutes my new crowns were placed with the great work Evelyn and Dr. Singh. I truly believe that Dr. Singh truly cares about her patients because during both visit, she was kept checking in with me during the entire process. Dr. Singh, Marisa and Mia also took the time to come up with a treatment plan that was good for not just my mouth but my bank account as well!! Worst experience at an office. Made appointment for cleaning. Oh we can't do it today. Next...set next appointment. Oh you aren't on the schedule. Then why are you sending me follow ups. Next appointment. Try to put in my date of birth. Sorry, that's not your birthday. So, I call and request a regular cleaning. Nope. The doctor says you have to have a deep cleaning..MORE $$$. I cannot do otherwise. Not, I'll check with the doctor So, I'll go elsewhere and due the awful communication, I recommend you do so as well. Unprofessional and does not honor appointment times. Has a phone answering service that gives wrong information having you waste your time coming here when they close before their closing time and close before the time they scheduled for your appointment. I scheduled an appointment 3 months ago for 12/14 at 5pm. Why would I receive a voicemail on the day of my appointment at 3pm saying my appointment had to be moved to 4pm? As soon as I got off work at 4pm I called and said the earliest I could make it was 4:30pm and the person I spoke to told me to come at that time. When I arrived the office was closed. This is ridiculous and completely unfair to me to drive all the way here if they would be closed, especially after confirming my appointment time last week via email. Why not honor appointment times that have already been confirmed the week before? Why have an answering service or call center that gives wrong information? Or honor the hours posted on your website of closing at 6pm on Wednesdays? The the voicemail saying you're closing at 5pm but have the doors locked and lights off by 4:35pm? I LOVE Meyerland Modern Dentistry and especially Dr. Singh and Lilly, the hygienist. I have been going to them for a few years now. They do excellent work, I trust them not to try and up sell me, and after a period away from dental offices during early COVID, my dental health has definitely improved in a major way since I've started going there. No plan to change my dentist as long as Dr. Singh stays at that office. read more

Told me I needed a crown, and that the price would be $1100 with insurance. Then I get the EOB from insurance, my cost should've been $440. Called them, they told me they gave me a "same day" crown so there was an "upcharge". I told them I was never told that a basic crown was $440 and that the $1100 was for some "same day" crown, and that I never would've agreed to the $1100 if they had told me I could get a crown for $440. They basically said "too bad, so sad". They have lost my business (inc. my 3 other family members). I do not recommend this place. read more

Money grubbers! They tried to tell me I needed a "deep cleaning" which would cost $700 above what my insurance pays and would not do a normal cleaning for what my insurance would pay. Apparently this is common with HMO insurance. Fortunately a friend recommended Tanglewood Dental off of San Felipe. They don't take HMO insurance but only charged me $225 for the cleaning I actually needed! Plus they were super friendly and got the cleaning done fast. That's important because I really don't like going to the dentist. Don't go to Meyerland Dental. Save money and time at Tanglewood. read more

I checked with my insurance and they confirmed I'm entitled to 2 basic cleanings per year at no charge. This place is all about bait and switch so they can charge you and your insurance more. I called this office, explained my anxiety and asked if their staff is able to work with patients with dental anxiety such as mine. Wow!! What a great experience! This is a new office in the Meyerland shopping center, super close and convenient so I said let's try them out. Took both my kids and husband to see Dr. Singh for cleanings and check ups. My husband was a little nervous because of all the COVID stuff. Let me tell you they are cleaning everything and all the time! The assistant Kim took the time to show us how everything was sterile and opened everything in front of us. They are taking all the steps necessary to make sure we are safe AND feel safe as well as them. Kim did so great with my daughter, she HATES taking xrays and amazingly Kim was able to give every angle the Dentist needed and my daughter did not cry or get upset. Then the Dentist was so kind and patient with my daughter as well. My daughter was apprehensive about the tools they us to clean your teeth but Dr. Singh gave her a mirror and talked her through the whole process Dr. Singh even got my daughter to let her put on the teeth vitamins without a struggle AMAZING!!! If you or a family member is scared in any way shape or form of the Dentist I highly recommend you see Dr. Singh!! And let me tell you about Kristen the office manager!! Such an amazing attitude, very friendly and helpful had everything ready for when we arrived. Offered us really great payment options, I was truly impressed.
