This place sounded really interesting and being one of the few restaurants in this smaller town I decided to give it shot. They had great reviews and reviews from out of towners like myself. Cute little inside and smelled amazing upon entry. It is a seat yourself place with about 8-10 booth/bench style seating. After I went over the menu I did not decided on sushi, but went with the full order of the aguachile.. glad I did. This was a flavor bomb of deliciousness!! Food was awesome! Had a work trip in this area, stopped in for a bite to eat, sushi was wonderful! Incredibly impressive for a small town, didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did! We live in Denver, so small town living is not what we are accustomed to, and our expectations were set pretty low, but this place knocked it out of the park! We would definitely come back! My favorite restaurant in Yuma, CO. If you travel through this is the best I could find. The tacos and the bowls were delicious. It's a small place that's well taken care of. The people there seem to take pride in the whole operation. When you go in, you can sit down and the server will bring you a menu and ask what you would like to drink. The food quality and taste was excellent. I was surprised. When I'm in the area it would be hard for me to eat anywhere else in the town. Recommended! Happy eating!! read more

The food is incredible and the prices are very fair. Nice and polite wait staff. I had their Ramen special. It had lots of pork and fish balls and great ramen noodles. Broth was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Yuma. read more

Sushi in the middle of nowhere? You bet ya. I was skeptical at first but knowing that all sushi must be frozen immediately on the boat I decided it is safe. And truthfully it is. Anyways I digress. Still skeptical of the concept, the owner came by our table and asked how everything was. He took a lot of pride in the restaurant and quality. So I asked Mexican and sushi? A little unknown place to Americans on the pacific side is known for their vibrant Mexican seafood and Japanese fusion. So he brought the concept here. And it absolutely works. We have had the tacos a few times and they have been delicious. But... the sushi rolls... wow. The volcano roll is out of this world. If you are skeptical of "frontier" sushi this one is cooked. It is one of the best rolls I have ever had. The poke bowl was very fresh and generous portions. It was well above what I expected and very well presented. I come to yuma 1-2 times a month for work and will always stop by now for a roll. Yes it is expensive but what isn't these days. If you are wanting very tasty sushi this is the place to go. What a gem of a place. The menu is interesting and the food is wonderful - homemade tortillas, meat cooked to perfection, beautiful presentation, and great service! The combination of MEXican and SUshi (MEXSU) may seem odd at first, but the food is inspired and the owner is flexible enough to go off menu. Highly recommend! read more
