I can't believe I've only just found this place. Surely the best burritos south of the river and they deliver too.

My husband and I have been meaning to try this place for a while and I finally got a chance to grab…read morea quick lunch on a Friday (baby free!) Hey have a pretty good deal - £6 burrito that includes a soft drink. It wasn't very busy but it did take about 5 min to come out. I guess I'm used to burrito bars where most of it is already made. Donde está el sabor? Sadly the burritos I make at home with the kits have more taste. It's presented very nicely and surely they use nice ingredients but sadly when you mostly taste the melted cheddar cheese or sometimes the plain rice - it does deserve a one or two star review. I had to drown it in the jalapeño sauce. When you have places like Tortilla that's considerably fast food and tastes really nice - probably wouldn't come back here for the food. I always want independent places like this to do well but sorry do they know what Mexican food should taste like?

Sufficed to say the beer was the best thing out of the experience. What we ordered: Chicken Burrito - it looked good because it was overstuffed with chicken, but looks can be TOTALLY deceiving. The chicken had NO flavor and it was COLD! Wtf! Baja Fish Tacos and Carnitas Tacos- the fish was ok but that was it. The tortillas for these "street tacos" were dry and crumbly Never again!

Unfortunately, that's the best bit of this breathtakingly adequate restaurant. We visited on a Sunday- the only other clientele were families - we were unsure why until the food arrived. Our servers were lovely, fast and attentive. In fact, the food came out suspiciously quickly! Perhaps because it was quiet. But highly commended on the staff. The food though - oh, the food :( . Bland, bland, bland. Guacamole with no flavour, which is quite the achievement. Fish tacos with fried battered fish pieces from the freezer, "burritos" that are actually enchiladas because they're covered in sauce (and still bland). Soft, bland corn chips - It's all fresh - but Tex Mex should be bursting with flavour. I assume this was why it was popular with kids. So perhaps the drinks are great. Maybe it's an off day. But given its apparently rebranded recently and the less than glowing previous reviews, I'd assume not. Such a shame as parts of it are killer - nice staff, great decor - but the food is sub-TGI Fridays. So no mas for us, I'm afraid. The Taco Bell across the street tastes the same and is half the price.

It's not authentic Mexican food (I've been to Mexico and live in the US, I know Mexican!) Don't bother in coming here, there are plenty of good restaurants in the area.

It's a Friday night and you're hungry. What do you do?…read more a) Order takeaway from the completely acceptable though perhaps uninspiring Chinese? b) Call up Dominos pizza yet again? c) Get Mexican delivery from a slightly dubious (see picture http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz_photos/rp50JE2QEttRhKu5wY8eSA?select=mokT88GzXBwVmfcCPkxNlA ) establishment in Wimbledon? If you answered "c", then you're well on your way to what I like to call "American dirty-Mexican food satiation". But let me explain this statement. The food I got from Mexican Fresh was far from dirty (-adjective 1. soiled with dirt; foul; unclean. 2. undesirable or unpleasant), but it was "dirty" in that it was real; it was unpolished; it hit the spot, if you will. Sure, the burrito I ordered had black beans in it instead of the pinto beans advertised on the menu. Sure, the tacquitos were a bit too bloated in a puff-pastry sort of way. But these items were fresh, honest and damn tasty. The Holy Grail of Mexican food in London, this is not. But with the menu offering a plethora of taqueria options, you better believe that I'll be phoning up on more Friday nights in the future to order some tacos and quesadillas. Or maybe an "americana burrito" (the only one with rice in it, bahahaha!! stick it, California!). A suggestion, though: make your own guacamole and give the gauc from Mexican Fresh a big pass. I got it and was sorely disappointed to find that it resembled more of a salsa fresca that looked green than it did some delicious calorie-laden guacamole. Order the homemade corn tortilla chips, by all means, but if you order the guacamole to accompany them don't say I didn't warn you.

So I had no idea about any of this until the food came and a paper menu was tucked inside. The food doesn't seem to have changed, it's super tasty and quite reasonably priced for the amount of food that you get (which is a lot!). Still the best Mexican I've found in London!
