Lunch truck on Mason and Devonshire! Found on Mason by the Wells Fargo, it's a treasure! You can place an order over the phone to have it ready for pick up! Mexican fare with a touch of love! Owner is super nice and friendly and has great recommendations for the newbies! Food is fresh, it's fast and authentic, one thing I truly recommend are the gorditas!! For those of you that don't know what they are, they are basically a corn flour deep fried and propped open to suit the likes of beans, salsa, choice of meat, lettuce and tomatoes then kind of closed off like a burger to fit your mouth Those little scrumptious things are so flavorful and are a highlight in the Mexican cuisine! Can't believe it took me this long to try it. I passed by this truck all the time. I wanted an asada burrito and this place really hit the spot. Everywhere else is just ok. Nothing really stands out. This place definitely stood out and it was one of the best burritos I have had in a minute. The meat was the highlight. The burrito was packed and didn't skimp on meat. I don't know what kind of love and magic they are putting in these burritos but they are some of the best tasting burritos I've ever had! Not kidding!! Found myself deep in the valley & needed a quick lunch so I turned to Yelp and low and behold, I was just down the street from this wonderful 5-star find. It's a yellow food truck located in front of Vons on Mason at the corner of Devonshire. I got the Regular burrito ($12) which is a regular flour tortilla filled with choice of meat (I got pastor - marinated pork), rice, beans, onions, cilantro & salsa...and it is so delicious and amazing! I am beating myself up for not trying Mexcla sooner!!!! I live around the corner from this truck, but I always found myself going to the Epic Taco Truck in the same parking lot--mostly because Mexcla never came up on Yelp or any of my other searches. But now that I finally stopped by, I'm wowed at how good this spot is! This is my new favorite taco truck and it's not even close. The carne asada is delicious, the chicken is super juicy, and the al pastor is other worldly. The tortillas are soft and flavorful and both salsas are delicioussss with a great amount of spice. There are tacos I enjoy in Chatsworth, but when I really want to go in, I'm used to driving 15-20 minutes for some of my favorite spots. Now, I have a place right in my backyard that I will definitely be returning to over and over again. Seriously, if you're at all debating, eat at Mexcla! I tried their burritos a long time ago at 818 brewery and then I lost track of them. Now I found them and I've been there at least 4 times in two weeks. I haven't tried anything else but I bet everything else is delicious. But the carne asada burritos are so good and delicious......you can taste the flavor of the meat and the rice and beans. Super clean, super friendly, and most importantly such good flavor! I would call in if you are going to order Gorditas or anything fried as it takes about 10 minutes to make. This spot always hits HARD. Ivan and his crew make some of the best, juiciest, finger licking food this side of the valley. Their asada is some of the best tasting and so damn JUICY. Most other places are dry and chewy. The chicharron is sooo damn crunchy on the outside but so moist and tender on the inside. Pair with a Mexican coke and . I generally don't order al pastor simply because it's not my favorite but this one was actually tasty. Can't wait to try other menu items! I'd like to see another option for red salsa.
