What should have been a routine MRI appointment became a frightening and unacceptable experience. My grandmother was locked alone in a hallway area and the only receptionist on staff then decided to go for lunch, leaving no one available to monitor patients. My mother went and found my grandmother in the hallway alone missing an article of clothing. When we attempted to address this and asked to speak with a supervisor, the receptionist was beyond rude to my grandmother, refused to give us her name, and would not allow us to escalate the issue. It was clear she knew her behavior was disturbing and completely unprofessional. This facility is UNFIT to handle elderly or cognitively impaired patients. What if my mother had fallen and broken a hip while locked away and unattended? Thank God I was able to get back to her when I did. I have escalated this incident to customer service and the Board of Health. Families deserve to know how vulnerable patients are treated here.

I arrived at about 245pm and was discharged at 720pm (when I left, the waiting room was more than double than when I arrived). That being said, my experience is that hospitals range from 2-12 hours wait, so although I felt like I was in crisis, I was sitting near the check in desk and the people they triaged before me FOR SURE were in more of a crisis that I was. Everyone was very nice to me. The check in person, the triage nurse, the RN who gave me my tetanus shot, and the doctor who treated me were all very nice and attentive (even when I was in the waiting room, when I needed more gauze or ice, they were very quick to give it to me). Maybe when I get my bill I will have something bad to say, but I thought I was treated well at this hospital.

I was tested for prostate because it was enlarged and he said he wouldn't have cancer. Well he's called everything out. He is not very snobby or does he think he's very superior to others he's a Doctor Who loves people and he's very knowledgeable. You can trust him with your health. I recently was very sick and I concerns, and the good doctor took very good care of me and said, don't you worry you got me back to full health before you know it. He explains everything to you and he treat you the way he wants to be treated. Also, another thing his staff that works for him is also very awesome. I wouldn't go anywhere else because I love the crew that works there including this doctor if you're looking for good medical care, somebody you can trust. The billing isn't exactly above board. I had a suspicious mammo on one side in Jan 2025. Came for…read morefollow up in Feb 2025 and that side was okay (out of pocket cost $625) but they said to do 2nd follow up again in August (6 months) just in case. Thankfully that side was still fine (out of pocket cost $416). Scheduled what I believed to be my yearly mammogram Feb 2026 but they apparentally wanted to bill this as a 3rd FOLLOW UP. This "follow up" however was for both sides and was no different than any other standard mammogram I have ever had except this one costs more than $500 out of pocket. Therefore, this yearly was not covered. So all told a suspicious finding that has now been checked 3 times cost me more than $1500 out of pocket. Lesson learned. Questions the number of endless billable follow ups, especially when they are the exact same as standard mammogram.

The billing department is poor at best. I had a claim issue for three months. The initial invoice…read morewas because Charles river billed the 2ndary insurance as primary, causing a retraction in payment. When I called the billing department back in June, I provided the primary insurance information and I was told the claim is being sent back. Then in July I received another bill. I called the billing department and was told "the claim was resubmitted but there is a balance", I explained that the balance should be submitted to the secondary insurer. I was told that they will do this. Then in August I received another bill. I called the billing department and asked why am I still receiving a bill. I was told that the claim denied stating that there is no primary doctor listed for the patient and that I would have to call my insurer to fix the problem. So I called my insurance company and was advised by the insurance company representative that the claim was never sent back in June. The provider, Charles River Medical Group, did not do their due diligence when they didn't resubmit the claim. The insurance representative asked to call Charles River billing department to resolve the issue and put me on hold. The insurance representative came back and stated they had to tell the billing representative how to reprocess the claim. The billing person at Charles River should know how to process a claim and resubmit a claim. Because of their lack of reprocessing this claim they would rather send the patient a bill. Horrible! I also filed a grievance with my insurance company.

How is there only one person working the front area? Corey is clearly stressed and that is where the rudeness comes in. All she is able to do is point to people and then ask them to sit down. Doesn't check to see if they have appointments, what time they had their appointments scheduled for, etc. The online booking was super easy, but there is no point in arriving on time or early. Basically just sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half watching people who came in after me come and go. I am going to need a covid test after this covid test for the amount of time I just sat there... I would have been better off just waiting the ten days at home with no extra exposure.
