The staff is super friendly and they offered new members a free lesson which was very helpful! I've had multiple friends come in with a guest pass to use the facility and they love it too! The community is awesome as well. I'm not an expert climber and can only make it in a few times a month but have a great time every time I go! They change the walls every Thursday on a rolling basis around the gym. Theres also gym equipment available - treadmill, elliptical, bike, squat rack rig + barbell, and of course lots of bars to hang from. They also have the electric routes (I'm not a climber so I don't know the actual name!) where you can set routes on an app and the holds will light up on the wall. There's lots of street parking around the gym. Malden center has lots of food and other activities around so if you make the trip out to rockspot you can make a whole day of it with lunch and dinner too!

Definitely tired and the right amount of soreness post workout but makes you feel 1000% better than you did coming in! Can't wait to come back!

I like that they do a mix of resistance, cardio and hybrid workouts. They typically have a little bit of everything in each day. This is more cross training based so expect to lift light and fast. If you enjoy the heavy lifting with low reps to build muscle, this isn't for you. If you're looking to get lean, then this is a great workout! My only issue is that they advertise a 45 min class but the workout itself is closer to 35mins.

The crew that comes here is pretty hard core and they have a wide offering of classes- as early as 5am (!) for the first class of the day. I loved their music, too (straight hip hop generally and no techno like other F45 locations). The parking situation is pretty good and there is a really good nail salon right next door for those wanting to hit a gel mani right after the class. I was highly impressed with the motivation and instruction this class gave me. I had a baby within the year and after 7 straight days of this class I felt like I legit dropped the 10 pounds I had left to lose. This is the perfect work out for mothers - 45 mins in and out and Saturday you can treat yo'self to that 60 min work out. I am attaching a pic here- I've gotten more and more fit the more I go. I did have to join the Somerville Location b/c it was closer to where I live in Cambridge, but I really loved the Medford spot. If not for the traffic I prob would have joined here.

Today was leg day, my legs hate me and have decided to remain in a jelly state for the time being. With that said, the work out was amazing! The trainer was super friendly and not at all pretentious or judgmental. I have been to gyms before where it's obvious I'm not a fit person and I have felt that the trainers are annoyed by that. I don't remember his name, he told me a few times but I was focusing on trying to stand. He was just super nice. It was awesome. The man at the desk was super friendly too and easy going and not at all giving me any vibe of pressuring me to become a member. I am, I just need to go to more classes to see what membership I want. I bought a group on and used it towards a 10 class pack to figure it out. I have already recommended a friend and am really excited to go back. As soon as I can walk. I liked that it was dark in there so I did t feel so visible in my uncoordinated struggles. I was not at all self conscious. Also, the ratio of women to men was like 8:2 or something like that. So that was a super bonus. Not that I care if men are there, it's just less intimidating when there are a good number of women in a class. For me anyway. I highly recommend it. The only thing is there is no sign, so I drove by it once or twice but I figured it out.

I was in a vulnerable place after giving birth, limited schedule with even more limited energy. I'm the strongest I've been in 5 years, and I find myself doing things on instinct, like deadlifting my toddler off the ground! If you're on the fence about signing up, do it. The worst that would happen is you walk away with more fitness knowledge than you'd ever get at a chain gym, and the best is you would enjoy it as much as I do. This review is cross posted.

The gym itself was much smaller than anticipated. Staff was helpful but part of the wall was closed making access even more limited. The climbing wall was rather small even if that section was open. The gym area had enough equipment to lift and improvise other work outs. They only had one of two showers operable, as one shower was filled with storage. When I went to use the operable shower I was told not to take a hot shower or not to be longer than 10 minutes because it would set off the fire alarm and sprinklers in the whole building. I found it strange but there was a fire alarm/detector in the bathroom so I set a timer. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. More than one days worth of hair in the shower. Grime on the walls and floors. The bathroom area outside of the shower was also dirty. Before I showered staff went into the bathroom to fill his mop bucket and mopped the entire floor in the main climbing area but didn't touch the bathroom itself. I would not recommend this gym if you are passing through and looking for a space to climb and hang out like we were.

Normally I just go to the gym and do my own thing but I decided I'd give The Way a shot. I have to say it was an awesome experience! Not only is Brandon extremely knowledgeable about fitness and workout regimes, he's very personable and able to connect with his clients. He's straight and to the point, but big on positive reinforcement and self motivation. There were definitely times during the class that I had to take a break and he was totally cool with it. He's a true believer in healthy body/ healthy mind/ healthy soul. It's not just about how many burpees one can do. During the class, we worked on a variety of full body exercises from battle ropes, to slam balls, to balance activities on bosu balls. The gym itself is in a garage/industrial environment. There's a boxing ring and plenty of boxing related equipment (punching bags, etc.). None of that was used in our class. There's other equipment that's non boxing related as well (weights, rings, monkey bars, weight balls). We actually did a small portion of our class outside where we had to walk across the parking lot holding weights. I was told by another person that he often takes advantage of the environment when possible. Overall I was very happy with my first class. I'm definitely going to be sore tomorrow. I appreciate the energy that Brandon brings to the class. He's very passionate about what he does, and it shows. If you ask him why he opened the gym, he'll tell you it's to help people. Just a great mentality. Prices are very reasonable and I will definitely be back for another class.
