Been going here for about two years, and I am done. The woman that work here all except one are rude. The dr shows up and has all these "assistants " whom don't even let him speak, i have questions about his products and some issues that occur and i get a paper given to me to read instead of having a conversation with me, listening to my problem and helping me solve it. Nope not here! it's like they just don't care at all. They push product on you. I had a terrible experience with the sanitation at the other location putting me in a filthy room and making me wait for 45 minutes after arriving early. Dr. Haberman is a knowledgeable and warm individual. He was attentive and found him competent as well as his assistant for my procedure. Unfortunately I did not care for the cold reception from the medial assistant/front desk woman in the cookie monster scrubs pictured. Not even a good morning or introduction - very cold. Unprofessional and set the tone for my two visits. It seems she is unhappy with her choice in life and takes it out on new patients. She needs to be retrained or spoken to by the office manager to avoid this negative aura and produce an otherwise pleasant visit. read more

First, I must correct something here: Haberman does NOT take credit cards any longer, only CASH. His receptionist rudely rejected my card, even though I had used it there before. She barked, "Can't you READ?" pointing to a small note taped to the window, regarding the new "cash only" policy. I certainly didn't deserve to be spoken to that way. Fortunately, I had enough cash on me...or should I say, UNFORTUNATELY. I should have walked out and never returned. I went ahead and was treated for what turned out to be basil cell carcinoma on the tip of my nose. Long, long waits were the norm. (In one case, before the nose treatment began, I sat in the treatment room FOR A FULL HALF-HOUR with all my clothes off except my underpants, and no robe provided, so that he could do a full visual body scan. No apology was offered for leaving me there so long, shivering for no reason. Outside in the hall, I heard him laughing with some friend about a golf outing.) Back to the cancer on my nose: First, to get a tissue sample for the lab, Haberman pinched my nose, said "Now this will sting for about 20 seconds," and immediately shoved a long hypodermic needle deeply into my nose at the tip, to inject anesthetic. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH INTENSE PAIN MY ENTIRE LIFE. He COULD have put some lidocaine on my nose for about 30 minutes to numb it first, but I guess he didn't want to spend the time doing it. In my opinion, the pain of having that tissue sample removed WITHOUT the anesthetic shot could not have been any worse! Now committed to going on, I choose cryogenic freezing to kill the cancer cells. What a mistake. My nose was a scabby, "weeping" mess for weeks after. Now, four months later, the healing that should have returned my nose to normal appearance in just a couple of weeks has not gone well. I feel disfigured. There's a "bullseye" white ring around a raised red spot, and a spongy soft spot under that skin, where it was once firm. I wonder if it's permanent, so I'm going to consult a DIFFERENT dermatologist. I very well may be confronting this guy Haberman after that consultation! Now, here's the "capper." On my way past the reception desk after the cryogenic procedure, Haberman cornered me, asking "Are you familiar with using the internet?" After I said "yes," he shoved a tablet computer into my hands, adding "How about writing a good review for me?" Incredible. No truly PROFESSIONAL doctor would ever make such a tacky demand. Just to get out the door quickly, I wrote some BS about him...but Haberman, I TAKE IT ALL BACK NOW. Here and now, I disclaim any positive statements you pressured me into writing. My fiancé saw Dr. Haberman for a skin rash and a mole, biopsy was taken.He never called to give results, the office hounded him to come in to receive results in person. For the extra copay and wasted time since the results were negative. The only reason I received the results over the phone was because I asked the office staff if there's something wrong with the biopsy and you're not telling us, then that's wrong and unethical to not give biopsy results and we would gladly come in to talk to the doc if we needed another consultation! This was about a year ago. Secondly, he was sent bills which he PAID and was told by the office he had a$0 balance ...Now months later, he's in collections for $271 which we have NO IDEA for what! Overbooks appointments and requires in-person visits to give test results. Made me come into the office to receive test results. I had a 1pm appointment and didn't see the doctor until 2:30pm. He spoke to me for 2 minutes to tell me that the results were negative to continue using the cream he gave me. To make another appointment in 2 weeks so he can examine progress. I visited Dr. Haberman a little over a year ago for a few months and I am still scarred by the experience. Not only did his services not clear up my skin problem, but it is such a corrupt business model. From the second I walked through the door, I was constantly hounded to buy his "special" products, and if you decline they make you feel as though you're an idiot. As if that wasn't bad enough, the WAIT is FOREVER. I don't think I had one experience where I waited less than 45 minutes, and one time he had me waiting an hour and 30 minutes. You would think that he would show some sort of remorse for being late, but no, he just rushed right by & spent 5 minutes with me before moving on to the next customer. The tableside manner is nonexistent and he is very rough with his treatments. If something hurts, he more or less tells you to suck it up and makes you feel as though you're the problem for being in pain. I always left that place feeling very upset and uncomfortable. This brings me to today, over a year later, when I am still receiving bills for over $800 from this place. Their receptionists must not be very well trained because I was told that my insurance would cover my visits. Co-pay was never mentioned. I even made sure to ask every visit if they were sure I didn't have to pay anything extra, and they were so reassuring that I didn't. Then one day I receive a bill for $800, and you can imagine my concern. After various phone calls, they told me that they would figure something out to take care of the problem. But that was a load of lies because they reported me to a credit collection agency. I advise you to PLEASE be careful here because they try to suck money out of you any way they can. read more

I'm sorry but, I think that some reviews must be fake. Dr.Haberman has such a good reputation from what i have heard but, I insisted that I wanted to stop taking oral antibiotics for my skin due to it hurting my stomach and he insisted that I still take them on top of another oral medication. I kept asking him what products to use instead but he kept telling me to wait until I leave and ask the lady in the front for the instructions. He then went ahead and injected me with some needle and sprayed my face with nitrogen. I had no idea what was going on but this seems to just be one big scam. No doctor should push his own SUS skin care line onto you. They should have beter, healthier and more affordable options. His assistants look and sound miserable. I was FORCED to buy HIS skin care products that look like they were made in a house and the ingredients for each product is all the same, Benzol peroxide. My skin is very dry and he insisted that I used 5% of of Benzol Peroxide on top of medication. Very sus interaction and would not go back to him. Had to fill out a book of paperwork. Makes you wait over an hour every single visit. What's even worse, if you call beforehand and ask how the doctor is doing schedule-wise for the day, they'll tell you he is on time and to come in as scheduled. Then you'll arrive and he will make you wait AT LEAST an hour. The doctor himself seems smart and aware, but the wait is inexcusable. How he is in business I will never understand. First visit to the consultation rooms in Ridgewood and had a horrible, unprofessional experience with Dr Habermans ADMIN staff. I was grossly disrespected, they wanted me to sign a cancellation policy under duress. If they just treated me with some dignity and without threat I probably would have signed it, instead I took their threat seriously and walked out. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. First off, you are waiting AT LEAST one hour to see the doctor. Then when he does come in to see you, the visit feels rushed. Also, they do not consult with you before injecting your face and spraying you with nitrogen or whatever it was. After each visit, the receptionists starts pushing you to purchase Dr Habermans products and cannot take o for an answer. After about 5-6 visits I stopped coming in and voila I get a 500+ bill in the mail. I was never told that the services I was receiving would not be covered. It really seems like they just want to make as much money off people as possible instead of caring. STAY AWAY! Also, his 'treatment' did not work. Beware! I waited weeks to get an appointment with this Dr. based on the positive reviews I read.  I asked for a chemical peel and was told to discuss it with the finance lady because chemical peels were expensive. The financial person quoted me $250 which I agreed to and proceeded to have the doctor apply the peel.  I was advised by the dr that within 3 days my skin would begin to peel.  It is now 6 days later and I called since I never experienced any peeling skin and was worried to restart my personal skin care regiment.  Today I called to inquire if I could discuss why my skin did not peel and was advsied that I was not given a chemical peel, but instead a mild chemical to deep clean to my skin, which is never anything I discussed ir expressed wanting. They were very rude and misrepresented the procedure and anticipated outcomes.  Very disappointing! I would not recommend going to this doctor unless you want subpar skin care and to get hustled out of money for cheap products that only made my skin break out. read more

Nightmare on Haberman Street. If no stars were a part of the rating score I would rate zero. I was experiencing post acne hyperpigmentation on the right side of my cheek and wanted a retinoid cream to help with brightening and resurfacing. What was done to my face next was completely unacceptable, a poor choice of treatment. Dr. Haberman recommended liquid nitrogen as an "ice therapy" for inflammation. As a nurse practitioner, with knowledge of liquid nitrogen, I knew that it's traditionally used to treat warts, lesions, skin tags or certain growths on the skin by freezing the growth. The growth then turns into a blister, forms a scab and peels off, revealing fresh healthy new skin. Liquid nitrogen may be used to treat liver spots and hyperpigmentation however it is oftentimes not the first line of treatment. When Dr. Haberman offered this treatment to me, I hesitated, but trusted his judgement as he's the specialist. He sprayed the liquid nitrogen all over my face, focusing more on the right side. I felt a tingling and light burning sensation on the right side more than on the left, which he said was "normal". He said it "should help even out my skin tone plus help with any inflammation and to follow up in two weeks". When I walked to my car and saw my face in the mirror, I knew something had gone terribly wrong. I ran back inside the office to express my concerns. The right side of my face was burned. Both Dr. Haberman and his assistant reassured me that it was a normal process and to splash cold water on my face. He told me that if by the next day the redness didn't lessen to reach out to him. The next day came and the redness was still as pronounced as the previous day. I reached out to the office and the emergency number leaving messages to again express my concerns. I only got an answering machine and received no feedback from anyone on the condition of my face; although those were the instructions given to me. Meaning if you have an emergency after a procedure at Dr. Haberman's office---good luck with that! A few days passed and I continued calling the office. Dr. Haberman's front desk staff assured me that they were not "burns" and "it would go away, to continue splashing cold water on my face". The following morning, day four post liquid nitrogen therapy, I finally got a hold of Dr. Haberman and sent pictures of the burns on my face to his cell phone. I also mentioned there was a lack of progress in the healing process and splashing cold water on my face did nothing for the serious burns. I was once again told to "continue splashing cold water on my face, be patient and that it should clear in about two and half weeks". In the two weeks that followed, the burns turned into scabs, peeled off and left pronounced scars on my face. On my follow up appointment I expressed my concerns to Dr. Haberman. I was dismissively told by Dr. Haberman "to stop looking in the mirror as much, to get out of my head, and that the marks didn't look that bad". As I voiced my concerns to Dr, Haberman, his assistant kept interrupting and trying to pull him out of the room, as if the burns to my face and my concerns didn't matter. It was unprofessional, disrespectful, and it showed how they undervalue their patients' concerns. I'm still fighting with these scars on my face even after two months. My face was over processed with liquid nitrogen and burned. It is because of the poor judgement which Dr. Haberman exhibited, his and his assistant's uncompassionate behavior after his negligent treatment and the time that it's taken for these scars to go away that I had no other choice but to share my story. If you are considering him as a dermatologist, I suggest that you consider heavily and choose wisely. Doctors make mistakes and hardly ever own up to them. "Dr." Haberman (I use the term "doctor" loosely) is a scam artist. I went to him because I wanted to clear up a horrible acne problem. At the time I was young and gullible and let him and his staff convince me his line of skin care products was a crucial step in solving my problem. His "P-wash" is basically a far more expensive version of Cetaphil. I ended up using a drugstore wash after my skin cleared up (thanks to Retin-A - which any dermatologist out there would prescribe - Haberman's not special) and when I told him I was no longer using his products, he literally raised his voice at me in irritation. Also kept injecting cortisone (or what he claimed was cortisone) into my skin - EVEN WHEN I HAD NO ACNE LEFT. Finally, he kicked me out of his office when I refused $2000 chemical peels. Rude, ridiculous, pathetic, useless scam artist. Practice should have been shut down decades ago. read more

Absolutely horrible, hands down, worst doc I have ever visited. First they claim they accept credit cards, but in the office they said they don't. Since I didn't have my check book or cash at the first visit they made an exception for me and accepted credit card. Took a biopsy of what he claimed was a bug bite NEVER CALLED me with results. I called couple of time, they said they don't have any results yet. I stopped calling after 2 months. My daughter had an appointment 2 days after mine. Thank G-d I paid with CC for her just in case because they mis-applied her co-pay to someone else' account. Sent me bills of co-pay due that we paid. Had to go through the trouble of pulling my credit card statement to prove payment was made. The office is VERY dingy, doesn't appear sanitary or clean. Was too grossed out to go back for bull body scan. Sold his personal line of skin care to me that were absolutely useless... The girls in the front are extremely incompetent. Insisted I leave a good review in the office. Thank G-d I had to run but felt pushed to leave a false good review. Dr Haberman recently began treating me for a mark on my face. My wife made the appointment. She told me, "Do not come home until we know what that is." Good woman. Dr Haberman gave me a large amount of his valuable time and focus. He explained to me what was happening at every step. He showed concern, and told me that he would need to see the results of further testing before he could diagnose my situation. As I was departing, he suggested a sav for my face that could promote healing. He informed me that whatever the results of my test were, we would face them together. He could handle any outcome. He had such presence and knowledge. As a person that is just looking at the unknown, all we want is answers. Dr Haberman answered what he could for me. Where time was required, he made me comfortable that we would successfully find those answers together. This is exactly what I wanted from a Specialist. He came into the room, touching my face with his bear dirty hands, then left the room because he said he had to go before the other patient would go crazy, came back into the room eating peanuts in my face, his food spit in my face because he was chewing so close, and touched my acne again with his dirty bear hands. Then, he never told me which products or washes or moistuzers to use.. because at the ends, his nurses showed me 100$ washes of his brand. Horrible office. Husband went there almost a month ago. Still haven't received results of his biopsy. First time was told letters were mailed out. We waited, no letter. Second time we called we were told office was being renovated and computers were down. Third time we called we were told that they have the results but can't release over the phone and the "girl" needs to write up the report for the doctor to review. Where is the doctor? He is "away". This review is for the front office personnel only, as I did not even get to see the dr. I'm only giving 1 because there is no option for a lower rating. I scheduled an appointment to see the doctor at 11. Received 2 email confirmations and a text reminder for the said appointment. I arrived at the office around 10:45. There is no greeting from the receptionist. I tell her that I'm here for my appointment at 11. She looks at me and with a condescending voice asks "today?" I reply yes. She makes no other comment. Then she proceeds to talk to someone on the phone. Through a window I show her the text confirming my appointment. She looks it over and continues to ignore me. She then proceeds to tell me that the doctor is NOT in the office and if I can come back on Friday at 11. This is after me standing by her window for a while. I took time from work to make this appointment. There was no apology and absolutely no regard for wasting my time. I have never experienced such incompetence from a medical staff/office. I felt like I'd been brought back in just so the office could make money off me. Went in to see this doctor for acne. Everything seemed normal until him and his assistant said I have to buy their products to clear up my skin. They told me I need about 6 products (morning wash, night wash, moisturizer, acne pads, etc.), which totaled $125. This is crazy to me. I asked about getting a prescription instead and they said the prescription strength would be to strong. I find it unlikely that's nothing cheaper over the counter that they could have recommended. This doctor seems to rely on the desperation of his acne patients to sell products. I think this is immoral and unacceptable for a doctor. I walked out of there without buying his products and I do not recommend this doctor to anyone. read more

Had the third follow-up appt for my daughter for a Sat. in October (we have the appt card). Got there and the office was closed! Called right then and got automated system; left a message. Have called 3 more times since then asking for a return call and I'm still waiting. I put up with the crap because he's a good dr., but really full of himself.
