This place is THE best for dermatology in the Alpharetta area. I have seen Dr. Niren for mole removals (you can't even see the scar anymore). I also have seen her for general acne inquiries in which she thoroughly explained all of my options. More recently, she has diagnosed my pilonidal cyst. What you get with Dr. Niren is what I wish I could get from my dentist, my physician and my gyno: She is extremely nice, well-spoken, and educated. She LISTENS and does not rush you off, like 99% of the other doctors I have ever seen. She is the best, I wish I could see her for everything! I highly recommend Dr. Niren. read more

I'm always one for giving nice reviews, but also bad reviews to warn fellow members of the public getting ripped off. Went to get my annual dermatologist check up and all great! $450 later and a partial payment from our insurance. All good! I've had a small black mark on my right side for what must be 30 years +. I mentioned to Dr Amy Lee in my examination that it hasn't changed and been there for most of my life, but she said that she'd like to take another quick look in 3 months. I was like, "it's been there for so long. It's not flakey and it looks like a birth mark" it's literally 7-8mm in size. Anyway, she was adamant even though I'd told her that it was good she still wanted to have a second check. Ok I thought. I'll pop back in 3 months and she'll confirm what I've said and other dermatologists have said over the past 20 years. I booked what I was assumed to be a quick check up for this one small mark. Oh, was I wrong! 3 months after my main examination, I arrived to get my 10-12 second check up, on the mark I knew wasn't an issue. Of course she confirms this. I said, great and went on my way. A few weeks later. I received a letter from Metroderm for the jolly old price of $250+... $185! Out of pocket. My insurance covered $75. I kindly called the billing and said that there must have been a mistake., but she said I'd have to speak with her supervisor. They called my a couple days later to say that every examination has a cost. I mentioned that I didn't want to do the appointment and that it was fine, but she insisted (Dr Lee) that it'd be just a quick check. I'm fortunate enough to have some insurance as well as a little money, but I certainly feel for anyone that gets duped into making appointments and getting "robbed". Absolute disgrace. I was sincere on my call to start with, but once they wouldn't shift on the rate. I unfortunately lost my cool. I would NEVER ever go back to this place again. Clearly Dr Lee and her team are ousting as much money as they can from poor unsuspecting patients. I hope you sleep well at night? I actually hope not! AVOID this practice. There are many dermatology practices in this area and there's no need to waste your time and money here. The practice has gone seriously down hill since Dr. Niren left and I will not be returning after having been a long-term patient with Metroderm with excellent experiences followed by unpleasant ones with team Amy Lee, PA and Ashley Patterson, MD. Amy Lee documented a full medical consult in my patient chart for a consult that she did NOT provide, nor did I request, during a cosmetic-only appointment. This is unethical at least and probably illegal. I have worked through every available channel to try to resolve the bill that I have received, including many phone calls and a detailed letter sent to the Alpharetta staff and medical director Dr. Papadopoulos, and they truly do not care and refuse to correct an incorrect/unethical bill for to retain a long-term patient. I have found a new dermatologist and will never be back, nor will I pay a bill for medical care not received. read more

I also will not be going back. Dr. Niren was my Dermatologist for over 20 yrs and ran a wonderful practice. She was kind and caring and experienced. Staff always friendly. Happy for her she retired, but not for me. Everyone at Metroderm place looks miserable and Dr.Patterson seems to be in a whirlwind. Had several growths removed months ago and received zero instructions on aftercare. Went to a scheduled appointment today and was told it had been cancelled - they could not tell me by whom or when. Dr Patterson and Berniece her nurse were both professional, efficient, reassuring and so pleasant to be around. "Exuberant" (in the best of ways) comes to mind! Also, the receptionist who greeted me and the lady I checked out with were both very pleasant and informative. I had a whole body checkup done which was completed in a short period of time. Waiting time was minimal and the office waiting room was very nice, clean and comfortable. I had a questionable growth on the top of my head so needed to get in to be seen quickly. My wait time was only four days which included 2 weekend days. Overall, you cannot go wrong with this office and Dr Patterson. It was an extremely positive experience!!! I was there on Friday for my yearly, full Body mole check. I arrived early. The receptionist said fine and checked me in. I sat there and waited for AN HOUR! After waiting patiently for 40 minutes, I went up and asked if they had forgotten me??? I finally got in to see a female P.A. There was a guy/assistant in there with us (Which was REALLY weird)! I expressed that I had been waiting ... she said that someone showed up late and they allowed her to come in before me ... how is that right? I was early, she was late. Ugh. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Jack Arbiser and his practice. I had been seeing someone else for many months prior and my issue was getting worse. I decided to get a second opinion and I'm so glad I did. Everyone is so nice, professional and helpful at MetroDerm. I will be forever grateful for the excellent care I received at this practice. I am highly disappointed in MetroDerm. The professionalism of the organization from reception, to assistants, doctors and administration has been disappointing. To be so poor across all aspects show no accountability of the management and owners. There was no warm welcome upon arrival. Dr. Ashley Patterson comes across as very entitled and was not receptive to procedures completed by other dermatologists. I was offered nitrogen freeze of lesions and asked specifically if there was an additional fee and was told by the assistant there was not and was given an ipad to indicate agreement to procedure. I was quite surprised to receive a $349.00 bill. Upon calling MetroDerm, the billing resource told me I agreed to the treatment and to the payment and he referred me to the Office Manager, Denise Jones. I explained the situation to her and she committed to have it resolved. Denise had the Billing Department Revenue Cycle Manager, Carrie Williams, contact me whom I've called back multiple times and have yet to hear from. Needless to say, I will not use or recommend MetroDerm or Ashley Patterson ever again and I certainly won't be paying this bill. Ayana, a medical assistant for Amy Lee, P.A. at Metro Dermatology is terrific. I cannot say enough good things about her. She is professional, experienced, knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, and follows up with Ms. Lee's patients on the portal afterwards regarding prescribed treatment by Ms. Lee. We need more healthcare professionals like her and I highly recommend her for all patients needing medical assistance. And, of course, Ms. Amy Lee is remarkable and a terrific Physician Assistant who in my layman's opinion seemingly knows as much as a nurse practitioner or physician. She too is knowledgeable, experienced and very thorough, not to mention very competent in terms of diagnosis and treatment of various skin conditions, including providing, along with Ayana's assistance, an effective annual body scan. My daughter has been a patient here. Every time we came in the service has been prompt. The receptionist is usually very courteous. Today, I called in to make an appointment and she slammed the phone in my ear after saying rudely that my insurance was not accepted. She didn't even care enough to stay on to listen about alternative insurance. Needless to say, we won't be going back! read more

I used this practice for two years and received great care - until I had a baby. While there for over an hour my son cried for approximately 10 minutes. (He's a baby it's not like I can control it and he's too young to go to daycare). At my follow-up visit I was shamed by the nurse for having brought my son with me based on his fussiness on my last visit. I was treated very rudely and unprofessionally. When I spoke to the doctor about this treatment she said bringing an infant or any child was a distraction. I will not be returning. read more
