Our daughter has been a patient of Spectrum Dermatology since 2022. Her last visit was on August…read more25, 2025, at the Alpharetta location where she saw Dr. Laney Hales for the second time (previously she was under the care of Dr. Susan Spitzler, but for unknown reasons she is no longer seen by her). While her acne treatment initially showed progress, the improvements had seriously declined over the past year and we were already considering transferring to another specialist. The real issue, however, is not the medical results -- it is the unacceptable and unlawful billing practices we encountered after this most recent visit. We received over five phone calls and a voicemail in less than 24 hours from "Rose," who admitted that she had made an error in insurance verification. At checkout, our daughter entered her Blue Cross Blue Value insurance information and was explicitly told by the front desk staff that the insurance was accepted. We made the required $55 co-pay transaction, and that was the only authorized payment. Now, after the fact, we are being told that Spectrum "no longer accepts Blue Cross Blue Value as of April 2025," and they are attempting to retroactively treat this as a self-pay account. This is a misrepresentation of payment terms and an unfair business practice. Under O.C.G.A. § 10-1-393 (Georgia Fair Business Practices Act) and 15 U.S.C. § 45 (Federal Trade Commission Act, Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices), a business cannot misrepresent services, payment terms, or insurance acceptance to a consumer, collect money under one agreement, and then attempt to enforce new terms after payment was already made. We explicitly dispute any additional charges beyond the $55 co-pay we authorized. By law, this constitutes a transaction agreement, and attempting to coerce additional payment after providing verbal assurance of insurance acceptance may also violate O.C.G.A. § 13-6-11 (Bad Faith and Harassing Conduct in Contract Enforcement). Furthermore, the conduct of the staff was unprofessional and dismissive. The office manager even remarked that she had to "step out of her very important meeting" to speak with me -- as if patients who have paid faithfully since 2022 are of no importance. The stress and hostility of this experience were completely unacceptable. We have maintained accurate records of our payments and communications and will defend our position under applicable state and federal consumer protection laws. Patients deserve honesty, respect, and transparency -- none of which we received from Spectrum Dermatology of Atlanta in Alpharetta.

After seeing the PA Kathryn Filipeck for 10 years you would think I would be appreciated as a patient. The way I was treated by the office manage over a billing issue even when they admitted error was ridiculous and it is obvious that the practice does not value loyalty. I have also referred 5 other people to the practice but out of principle I will not be returning as a patient or referring anyone else. I will go back to Dermatology Associates where they are truly professional.

It got bigger and redder. Dr. Hill treated it with steroid shots and three rounds of IPL but nothing worked. Finally, I sent an email to ask if he had botched the surgery and if there was any hope of the area getting better because I want to be a reasonable person and just move on with my life if the answer is no. He got me in for a follow up right away and admitted that because the stitches had ripped during surgery, this triggered more trauma to the area. The surgery was unsuccessful and my body did not respond. He offered to do another surgical removal (without the cryotherapy) but that there was only a 50-60% success rate. I asked his assistant if she would do the surgery if she were in my shoes, and she gave me an evasive, "I think you should do it if it makes you happy." That told me everything I needed to know. A week or two later I sent a follow up email to say that I was going to decline surgery and asked for a partial refund. Seeing as Dr. Hill did take a lot of time in trying to help me after surgery, I thought this was a fair ask and worth a shot. Unfortunately, I never got a response. I sent a follow-up last week to kindly remind them to respond to my email, but they never did. Now, if they don't want to give me a refund, there's nothing I can do. I just figured that anyone in my position would do the same, but this is completely unprofessional, considering I am a patient in their care. I cannot recommend the Graivier Center to anyone hoping to get a chest keloid removed. Save your money and stay away.

My only regret is that it took me so long to find them. After having the WORST experiences with Ideal Image(pain, no results, SO expensive), I had a lot of fear and not a lot of trust issues. *Please don't ever go to Ideal Image unless you hate yourself, you're a glutton for pain, and like to waste money.* I had SO many trusted friends recommend ASC, so I decided to give them a try. Literally everyone. My first visit was for Botox (and maybe lips?) with Missy. It's hard to remember exactly where I started. Since then, I have had facials, laser treatments, Botox, lip fillers, under eye fillers, lash tints and lifts, and now laser hair removal. There is honestly nothing I wouldn't trust them to do. Every experience has been consistently amazing from the customer service, to keeping me comfortable, to amazing results. NOTHING has been painful. They have highly trained team members, advanced technology, and tools to make everything as painless as possible. I am always excited to try something new, but also value their honesty when they tell me I don't need a treatment. (I literally want to do everything I see them post about because their results are always amazing!) Their pretty view isn't too bad either. I am honestly excited for all future treatment because I know it is the best. (I have a long list) No matter where I live, I will find a way to continue to come to ASC. There is no one I would ever trust more. Missy, Michael, Makila, and Galina are amazing and I would trust them for anything. You literally can't go wrong with anyone here! :)
