The room was also nicely decorated with balloons for a nice birthday touch, though you may need to move a few to read the lyrics if you're sitting and singing haha Drinks can be ordered at the bar outside if you would prefer them not to be charged to the room (which is convenient if you're splitting the tab and don't want to remember who ordered what)! Bathrooms were extremely clean and the stalls even had some pads there for the girls. I liked that they had the sinks outside, which is nice if you want to clean your hands before eating/drinking/singing. I didn't order any food, so I can't speak on that. The mixed shot drink I tried was very light and quite sweet, which is fine for me since I don't like the taste of alcohol but might not be good for you if you're expecting something stronger. The pricing is typical of a karaoke lounge I think(?) The song selection tablet was interesting haha. The person who checked me in was nice enough to change everything to English before we started and also explained how to look for songs. (It's not very straightforward initially, but you get the hang of it after). They had all the favorites and they do have an option to use YouTube if they don't have the song you want! Parking can get rough. I happened to get lucky and found a spot right when I entered, but some of my friends had a tough time parking. There was a screen that projected a montage of photos of club attendees from previous events with the occasional Daft Punk robot picture mixed in. Other than the occasional photo, I found the house and electronic music non-existent on Daft Punk v. Crystal Castles night. There was some dancing, but the Flyway photographers regularly interrupted it to snap photos of people posing as if they were having fun. One star for trying too hard in ironic and sad fashion.

Needless to say I thought the Flyway was an interesting choice of venue for this occasion. Located near the rooftop in the same building as the Fox Theater, you'll see the entrance off Garey. Parking is abundant and can be a bit pricey if you want to park in the closest lot between the Fox and the bank. I paid $25 because I was feeling a bit lazy. After walking up 4-5 flights of stairs (there is an elevator available) you'll find yourself in a nicely decorated room with wooden floors, couches along the wall and colorful lighting. Got that old tyme speakeasy vibe (but no piano music.) The bar is near where you enter. There were a few hiccups in the sound, probably because this place doesn't seem to have live music that often. Or it was on the musicians themselves (there were 11 bands that played, mostly way younger than I). But overall the sound was pretty good. I always have earplugs in but if I forgot them at home I wouldn't have lost much sleep. I didn't drink anything alcoholic but the bartenders were keeping the water cups going. That was very appreciated because with the amount of people moving it got warm on occasion. They also have a smaller balcony with a nice view of Garey and other parts of downtown Pomona.
