A Business Owner's Best-Kept Secret! (Yes, Better Than Costco!)…read more For any fellow small business owners, listen up: this place is an absolute game-changer. I know we all love Costco, but when it comes to true wholesale prices for a business, this is the only place I go. They have everything you need to run your operation, from bulk food supplies to household (or business) cleaners. As a cookie business owner, this is my one-stop shop. I replenish all my core items here in bulk--we're talking cases of butter, giant bags of flour and sugar, eggs by the flat, and huge containers of chocolate chips and nuts. I haven't found better wholesale prices anywhere else. Now, there are two key things you need to know: Membership: You have to have a membership to shop here, but it's FREE to sign up. You just need to provide your business entity information. It's quick, easy, and absolutely worth it. The Vibe: This is not your typical grocery store. It's a true warehouse, so don't expect a lot of hand-holding or personal customer service. It's a no-frills experience, but that's how they keep the prices so low. Honestly, the customer service part doesn't matter one bit to me. The massive discounts I get here are more than worth the visit. If you run a food-service business or just need bulk supplies, you need to get a membership here.

Supposedly, they cater to restaurant customers only but I've seen plenty of retail customers there and never had a problem purchasing an item. The best time to go is probably in the daytime during the week. I needed restaurant equipment for my startup business and found Chef Essentials, a local company…read morethat sells both new and used equipment. I wanted to support a local business while saving some money, but looking back, I should have spent more and purchased new equipment somewhere else. Mark, one of the owners, helped us purchase several big-ticket items, including a single-door Cooker & Cooler freezer. I now believe we paid far more than the unit was worth, but the price is not even the biggest issue. Only five or six months after purchasing it, the freezer began having problems. Before the sale, Mark assured us that if we ever had an issue with the freezer, he would personally come out and take care of it. He did come by to inspect the unit and told us he would order the necessary part. After that, we never heard from him again. We reached out several times but received no response. My advice is to learn from my mistake. Saving a few dollars on used equipment is not worth it when the seller does not stand behind the equipment or honor the promises made during the sale.

Staff are nice. TIP: They are located at the basement, I repeat basement! Inside wholesale store, do not make the same mistake like me on going inside the Galleria supermarket.
