We called Lance in November of 2014 when locked out of our home. He was timely, professional and did excellent work.

I certainly made the fine locksmith at Altasta earn his $16 for my 4 keys!…read more I wish they had a tip jar out, but alas at least I can give them a great review. I lost the keys to my 92 Volvo, got a new set at the dealership, they didn't work, called a mobile locksmith (Locksmith Monkey another 5 star review on the way) who came out and hand-filed the key so it would work. Why? I don't know - a little here, a little there, and it finally started the car. So I went to get duplicates, and figured after that experience I better go to a pro. I **thought** you take a key in, and they just duplicate it in a thingamajig and it should have the exact same cuts? I guess not! Again the locksmith had to file down the key, take it outside in the pouring rain, try to start my car, come back in, about 4 - 5 times. FINALLY it worked. And I'm glad I had him make 2 spares so hopefully none of us will have to go thru this again. If you need ANYTHING lock related, or a nifty iron safe, or a gun safe, or a wall safe, or some keys for your vintage auto go to Atlasta! Bonus - it's super old school with walls of key blanks, no-nonsense keyrings, hide-a-key magnet thingies, color-coded things to put on you keys to keep them separate, they do NOT mess around!

I took a condo mailbox key here and made three separate trips while they repeatedly tried to…read moreduplicate it. None of the keys worked. After wasting my time and multiple failed attempts, manager refunded $4.25 instead of $5.25 he charged me. Unprofessional and incompetent service.

Cheapest dealer wanted 440 for just the fob. not including labor and you had to program them in twos. Even the dealer said it would be wise to shop around since it would of been almost a grand for just 2 key fobs. So i called a few lock smiths. One even told me that he wasnt going to waste his time on such a job (guy was very rude and arrogant). So i kept calling around. a few others said they had never done one and would charge me even if they failed. So i got on Yelp. messaged a few. Daniel messaged me back almost instantly wanting to chat over the phone about my situation. He was very polite and even straight up told me that they might not be able to do it. But he wouldnt charge me if they couldn't find a solution. So within 45 mins one of his techs arrived. At first he was unable to figure out the programming. He must of spent a full hour trying various things and talking to others to find a solution. He walked me and showed me various things along the way. At the end, he got the fobs to work as they should!!!! Very happy with my experience with Master Locksmith. And added bonus, I asked about a lock in my house that needs to be replaced. Rather than upsell me he was straight up honest and gave me some ideas that would save me a ton of money in the long run (vintage door lock). Great guys.

American Garage Door & Key

Had a great experience with these guys today…read more I was preparing to bite the bullet and get ready to buy a new garage door/motor after several past fixes from other companies never seemed to fully fix our track problems and issues with loud mechanical noises. However, American Garage Door & Key completely fixed in an hour what other repair people couldn't seem to solve. Our garage door is tracking smoothly and humming right along. Punctual, reasonably priced, great repair work, and they take calls on the weekend. Not a complaint one!

I was scammed. Called this business on 8/23/26 to evaluate my garage door and seals as we will be…read morepainting our house grey, including our white garage door. The repairman that came told me the seals were fine and also told me the springs were old and showed signs of impending breakage as they were not uniform on the bar they occupy. His quote seemed high, $1850.00, but we are new to Portland and have found things to be more expensive here. We wrote a check for that amount and after the tech. left I searched the internet for costs to remove old and install new springs for a 16' x 7' garage door. I found multiple examples of that repair for almost 1/3rd the price I paid. I did pay extra for springs that the tech told me had a longer warranty. I found it interesting that the tech., Dan R., has his snapshot on the review pages of American Garage Door and Key identifying him as The Manager. We were not given a receipt or warranty statement. I attempted to contact the business by phone and email to discuss correcting what I felt was a mistake in billing but got no response. Today I called the same business again to discuss changing the top 16' panel to one with windows. The same technician Dan R. arrived in the late afternoon, driving the same White newer Dodge Ram pick-up without any advertising for his business i met him at the door and recognized him immediately. He is tall and thin, a darker skinned young man with curly black hair on his head and beard. I asked him if we hadn't met before and he stated he did not think so and pulled out his cellphone to check for our address in previous conversations but stated he was unable to find it. He asked to see the door opened and took a photo. Again I asked if he hadn't been to our house before and he insisted that he did not think so. Our home is easily recognized as we have no plants or trees in front and one side of the property has artificial turf which looks like a healthy natural lawn and the other 1/2 is all grey pavers. I asked him the name of his company and he stated "Speedy Garage Doors". I had to ask him to repeat himself as his accent (he told me he was Jewish) made it difficult for me to understand. I thanked him for coming out and went inside to attempt to learn more about this business in hopes I could speak with someone about the cost of his previous visit. I have proof that we wrote a check for the first visit. The tech is easily identifiable. I'd appreciate being contacted by American Garage Door and Key. I'll check back here for a response.
